SPACESHIPS AND STEAMPUNK CRUISERS - PART 2
This article is a continuation of a previous blog post that I made last year, collecting a host of digital paintings and wallpapers that feature spaceships, hovercrafts hyper jets and Steampunk cruisers. We continue sailing along that channel today, showcasing more works that I've collected from around the Web, including concept art from the DSNG Sci Fi Series.
The DeviantArt artists behind these cool pics include: Jett0, Angelitoon, JamaJurabaev and DSNG.
Most of the futuristic spacecraft designs presented in this post are tied to Steampunk Themes. And the lengthy article that discuses that genre of sci fi linked to Neo-Victorian themes is over HERE
Make sure you take a look at the previous blog article with over 30 images of spaceships and futuristic hovercrafts HERE! And the separate article on Hovercopters is over HERE - Article written by the artist & author of the DSNG Sci Fi Series

SCI FI BUILDINGS AND FUTURISTIC CITIES / CONCEPT DESIGNS

In the image shown on the left [drawn by Greg Horn], although you see Batman and Catwoman, you will also observe their environment. And the ideas projected about their setting is a dark alley on a snowy day, illuminated by the spectacle of a kneeling woman in a latex outfit, sipping a bowl of milk. If the background was completely blank, the image wouldn't loose its quality; however it would loose its sense of locational placement, forcing you to imagine what the unseen environment could look like.
I've assembled a host of images and wallpapers from around the Web, showcasing futuristic buildings in sci fi settings. The digital artists behind these creations include Janditlev, Scott Robertson, Antifan-Real, James Paick, Fred Augis, aiRaGe, James ledger, Jett0, Andreas Rocha and others.

SEVEN COOL 2012 NEW MOVIES TO WATCH FOR!
All right, there ought to be official BOLOs for some these movies featured in the First Half of this year 2012, alerting fans in advance to either rush out to see them. I've written preview articles about some of these forthcoming 2012 movies in this blog last year, so I'll be including links to those articles that will have additional cast pictures.
First up is HAYWIRE, staring Gena Carano and directed by Steven Soderbergh [the guy behind Oceans 11, 12 and 13]. I've heard mixed opinions from the critics about this one, which debuts on the 20th of January 2012. But I really don't give a damn about what they've said tied to her "acting". Gena is a professional "martial artist". And in this movie she is a covert operative-for-hire / a betrayed spy on the run; consider her a female Jason Bourne, who gets to kick some ass and shoot 9mm Beretta handguns. Gena is performing an arm-bar submission move in the first pic. And I think it was back in the year 2009 that Gena practically went topless for ESPN Magazine, in a fitness body issue [pic is shown on the extreme right].
[image error] [image error] [image error] [image error]
You can check out the first 5 minutes of the Haywire movie here, courtesy of www.HULU.com. And if you use a fake birthday on that thing, well, I won't report you.
Now there are two movies staring The Rock Dwayne Johnson this year. The first will be released in February and it is titled Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (also known as Journey to the Mysterious Island). This is a 3D action-adventure film directed by Brad Peyton and it's the sequel to the 2008 film Journey to the Center of the Earth which stared Brendan Fraser, aka the "Mummy Star". This movie sequel stars Dwayne Johnson, Michael Caine, Josh Hutcherson, Vanessa Hudgens, Luis Guzmán and Kristin Davis.
[image error] [image error] [image error]
[image error] The second movie staring the Rock this year is G.I. JOE 2: RETALIATION and the article with pics that I wrote about it is over HERE.
Next, we'll consider UNDERWORLD: AWAKENING that stars the sexy Kate Beckinsale, which will be released in 3D next Friday, on the 20th of January 2012. The article I wrote about that werewolf / vampire hunting movie is over HERE and it is officially the fourth installment in the UNDERWORLD Franchise. The guys over at www.JoBlo.com complained about the sparks in the movie poster, stating that it subtracts from Kate's glorious latex sexiness. I say, take out the sparks and the fog, and you'd definitely have a much better movie poster.
[image error] [image error] [image error] [image error]
And another movie worth checking out is Safe House, staring Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds - this movie comes out on February 10th, 2012. Denzel plays a mastermind criminal named Tobin Frost, who needs to be shipped from one location to another. After some rebels destroy the CIA safe house holding Denzel in South Africa, the rookie CIA agent [Reynolds] is now charged with transporting the mastermind.... and everything goes south from there... BTW, the third pic above shows Ewan McGregor getting his lights punched out by Gena Carano, in Haywire. And the fourth image is The Rock and Kristen Davis, prepping to get intimate and swap saliva in Journey 2.
[image error] [image error] [image error]
The new Wrath of the Titans film debuting in March 30th 2012, should also be good. This is an upcoming action-fantasy film and its sequel to the 2010 film, Clash of the Titans. This sequel stars Sam Worthington [aka "Jake the Sully" from Avatar], along with other familiar and fresh faces. According to the movie synopsis, Perseus [the guy who has a flying horse and is just as gifted as Hercules, per his blood-link to Zeus], will be joining with the gods of Olympus as he helps them battle against four mythical beasts: Minotaur, Chimera, Makhai and Kronos. You can tell that this one is going to be an epic smackdown...
Marvel's The Avengers is also coming out in the summer of 2012, so fans of Captain America and Ironman will get a real treat later this year....

2010 - 2011 THUNDERCATS PUMYRA REMIX - CONCEPT DESIGN
Almost a year ago, I did a ton of character redesigns for the new Thundercats Animated Series, which was produced by Warner Bros Animation with animation provided by the Japanese firm Studio 4°C. And last week I saw a commissioned poster by a guy called Bokuman over on DA, featuring Pumyra - his pic is on the right side, below. Debuting back in the 1986 cartoon movie titled Thundercats - Ho! Part 1, Pumyra has always fascinated fans. But sadly as the series went on, her featured importance was diminished, while she was overshadowed by Cheetara as the dominant female of the pride.
Pumyra was not designed to be this thick, with big boobs and a huge butt. This is Cheesecake art and its a gimmick for selling merchandise...

SEXY ANIME CARTOON WALLPAPERS - PART 2
I've collected a ton of wallpapers over the years, images that can be used as screensavers on your PC and laptop. Anime art is distinct from Cheesecake art [which is primarily my art style, although I often draw anime posters as well]. Yet the Japanese manga and Jap-an-ime drawings presented as cartoons can be extreme sexy & sensual, forcing the audience to stare and drool.
Sometimes anime posters are linked to themes such as ninjas, samurais, angels, demons, vampires and the all-too-popular school girls. Personally, I do not know the reason for the manga/anime obsession with fantasy cartoon series featuring scantily-clad, busty, high school girls... perhaps it's tied to the indigenous male fantasies in the East, or its just something that the masses force Japanese artists to draw per their immense purchasing power, or secret threats sent over the Internet. On the other hand, maybe the Japanese manga artists are the ones making the subliminal threats to their audience, compelling them to buy into their drafted fantasies [after all, there is a classic manga comic book out there called "Read or Die"]. Nevertheless, You can be the judge of the quality of the works presented here, created by a host of skilled artists on the Web:
The first two images in the last row feature Ms. Revy and some other characters from the action-packed anime, The Black Lagoon. It is a manga series written and illustrated by Rei Hiroe, and published in Shogakukan's Sunday GX since 2002. Set in the mid-90s, the story follows a team of pirates/mercenaries known as The Lagoon Company; and they smuggle goods around the seas of Southeast Asia. And the main protagonist is a girl named Revy, who has rather psychopathic tendencies - she loves to shoot and kill. And she has two stainless steel 9-mm Beretta M92 handguns that are her signature weapons, along with some skimpy "daisy dukes" shorts that she always wears with cowboy boots. Starting in 2006, a gory anime linked to that comic and filled with gun-toting chicks was created, which ran for two seasons. And a third season was created as an OVA in 2010.
The last image in the third row is from an anime Sci Fi series called Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon. I really want to do a separate blog article on that cartoon series, because it is rather fascinating. As can be observed from the sample artwork of the chick named Margot Knight, that series features a host of busty chicks - the manga artists purposely gave the female characters voluptuous figures, so big boobs and huge butts are the norm. The DSNG Sci Fi Series also has a ton of Sexy Female Aliens that are designed with similar themes...

TRANSFORMERS: FALL OF CYBERTRON OFFICIAL CONCEPT ART / POSTERS
THREE VIDEO GAMES YOU SHOULD KEEP AN EYE ON THIS YEAR 2012
Often the potent wave of hype can be the sole factor that builds up a massive profit for a forthcoming video game, and in this age of rampant Pre-orders and specialty DLCs, video game manufacturers have found an ingenious way to start making profits even before they launch their major titles.
In this modern era of excess and abundance, there will always be cons and scams; meaning that often the hype that surrounds a pending game/product may be really nothing more than the classic deception of smoke and mirrors; elusive tricks designed to suck you in so that you buy a B-grade game, which was advertised with an A-grade trailer.
Nevertheless, there will constantly be an exception to the norm. And there will always be games that are worth your time [and your money] based upon their graphics, depth of story, enemy AI complexities, and their addictive game-play dynamics.
Now lets take a look at three forthcoming games. The first video game worthy of a BOLO [law enforcement slang for "Be On the Look Out for"] is Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. Produced by High Noon Studios [the same guys behind Transformers: War of Cybertron], this sci fi game is tentatively slated to be released in the fall of 2012. And it appears to be a true heavy-weight contender. Plus, from the trailer below, one of the most beloved Autobots of all time appears to be hurt, while another one is taking center stage: Grimlock!
Linked back to the original G1 set of toys released in the mid-80s, Grimlock was a powerful Dinobot; he was capable of transforming into a giant robotic T-Rex. He could absorb endless barrages of laser pulses while he shredded his opponents with his chiseled metallic teeth. He wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but he always got the job done.
And the amazing concept art shown here from that forthcoming game is courtesy of Aaron Limonick. Here are 3 of the Dinobots from the game and their robot forms are shown directly below. There are a total of 5 of them in the original cartoon series: Grimlock, Slug, Slag, Swoop and Snarl.
There are two featured Autobots that I'm not sure of their origins: Zeta Prime and Air Raid, the two guys on the left side, above. Perhaps Zeta is an old-timer, who mentored Optimus. I remember Jet Fire from the original 1980s Transformers cartoon; he was a Deception that became an Autobot, and he was a comrade of Starscream. Perhaps Air Raid is the latest interpretation of the flying Autobot... we'll see....
The second action role-playing game to watch for this year is Mass Effect 3. More character posters from that game are placed in a previous post HERE.
The Third game to watch for is.... MAX PAYNE 3 , from Rockstar Games. This modified paragraph by Darren Finch from www.EW.com summarizes the sarcastic hype around this game:
"The typical video game protagonist is a callow, nobly inclined young person excited to set off on an intriguing quest for goodness. Such heroes are pure-hearted, upright and trustworthy, loyal to the cause of justice and constantly heroic in their true nature. And then there's the mo-fo Max Payne, who returns eight years after Max Payne 2, as a fat, obnoxious, broken alcoholic with a shaved head and a dirty tank top. Also intriguing: The franchise is moving from the 'noir-gritty urbania' of the first two games to the sunny streets of Brazil."
Now I must confess that I love Brazil. It was the country used for the setting of the Fast Five Movie and it is notoriously known for having some of the most curvaceous & exotic looking women in the world.... I've seen pics of dark-skinned ladies with natural blue eyes, and 43-year-old sexy mamas that look like they're still 23. And as I imagine that Mr. Beer-Belly Max Payne is going to literally have a gun-toting adventure in paradise, a sly grin rapidly invades my face. Lets just get to the point: Max is probably going to hook up with a Sexy Pawg and get laid in Brazil. And he's definitely gonna kill some crazy mo-fos along the way. 'Nuff said.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SCIENCE FICTION AND FANTASY

Welcome to 2012! All right, we will start this year with some definitions, distinguishing between issues that a lot of fans inwardly ponder. One of the original articles that I wrote in this blog last year was titled WHAT IS SCI FI? And it described various genres of Science Fiction, while giving lots of pictures as paradigms of the topic discussed. Today I'll draw the line between two fascinating genres that are commonly blended into one broad group. People often say things like "This is a Science Fiction & Fantasy book". And while that can be true, Sci Fi and Fantasy can be separated into two distinct groups, as explained below.
Sci Fi [Science Fiction] is technically defined as an area of imagined fiction that is founded upon futuristic themes, while drawing from current and post-modern technical innovations in order to support the presented society. Sci Fi usually involves other eldritch [alien] worlds, which are the spawning grounds for alien races and foreign species. Sci Fi can be written, drafted, or broadcasted in order to tell the desired tale. Elements common to Sci Fi are: giant robots, ultra-modern machines, spaceships, battle cruisers, aliens, warp gates and teleporting beams. And the weapons utilized commonly include laser blasters, energy swords [like light sabers], photon cannons, ion beams, antimatter warheads etc.
Examples of Sci Fi works [movies/cartoons/games] are: Star Wars, The Matrix, Mass Effect, Chronicles of Riddick, Babylon 5, Star Trek, StarChaser: The Legend of Orin, Transformers, StarCraft I & II, Ghost in the Shell.
Fantasy Fiction can be categorized as an area of imagined fiction tied to supernatural phenomenon, such as magic spells, mystical realms, mystical creatures and other fairytale themes. Fantasy works can be set in historic/classical or modern times. And honestly, most superhero comic characters fall into this category, simply because of the supernatural/superhuman phenomena that they showcase time and time again. Fantasy Fiction can be written, drafted, or broadcasted as well.
Elements common to Fantasy are: giant dragons, diverse monsters, super beings, fairies, witches, elves, vampires, zombies, angels, demons and ogres. And the weapons commonly include swords, axes, maces, epidermal energy beams [heat vision, sonic pulses and the like], bows & arrows etc.
Examples of Fantasy works [movies/cartoons/games] are: Lord of the Rings, Dungeons & Dragons, The Legend of Zelda, Superman, Spiderman, He-Man, She-Ra, The Sword in the Stone, Battle Chasers, World of Warcraft.
Both Sci Fi & Fantasy have shared subcategories [such as Cyberpunk, Steampunk, military, high tech etc]. Of course there will always be crossover works that borrow themes from both the Sci Fi & Fantasy genres, thus creating hybrid worlds. He-man was also a hybrid, and the DSNG series is actually a hybrid work, tagged as Techpunk.
Here are some sexy Sci Fi & busty Fantasy babes [based on the Cheesecake art style]. The artists behind the works showcased include DSNG Artist, Kazakami, Loopydave, Terry Dodson, James Ryman, and Derek Herring. And per the definitions above, I'm sure you can easily categorize the images by yourself:

Yes, I did the first and last pics... some fans will remember May [The Super Milf] and Meme [cat girl] & Katrina [her nemesis] from my classic SFA Web Comic.... which is still on a fantasy-like Hiatus :)
And speaking of fantasies, the so-called "Mayan calendar prediction" was WRONG, and the 2012 Movie was a load of BS. The world is NOT going to end this year. Yes, there may be some natural disasters like floods, quakes, etc, but that is part of natural phenomenon. The Mayan civilization existed from 250 - 900 A.D. And actually, the Mayan's Borrowed their original calendar from another race that preceded them, meaning the foundations of their star gazing maps and so-called dates are not even original - hence they can't even be regarded as accurate. Have a happy new year!

THE FORBIDDEN PLANET - A BRIEF HISTORY & ORIGINS OF STAR TREK
I hinted at my interest in writing this article last week, when we talked about the voluptuous actress Christina Hendricks. Some time ago, I stumbled upon a classic Sci Fi movie, tilted Forbidden Planet [released in 1956], which was a prequel to the classic Lost in Space TV series [it was first aired in black & white and ran from 1965 - 1968. And this means it was on TV for a year before the Star Trek TV series was first produced in 1966].
Back in the year 1956, two men [Irving Block and Alvin Adler] wrote the script to an epic Sci Fi film with a big budget. And this movie was directed by Fred M. Wilcox. The movie was titled Forbidden Planet. It stared Leslie Neilson and it also stared the stunning blonde lady, Anne Francis.
Having stared in over 80 classic movies, Leslie was the old guy from The Naked Gun comedic movies [in the mid 1980s], along with the hilarious Spy Hard movie [in the 1990s]. On the other hand, Anne Francis was the first female actress to have a lead role in a detective TV series, back in 1965. And the name of that series was Honey West. Born in the 1930s before the Great Depression, she had a natural beauty mark on the right side of her face, below her lips. And she looked like a classic glamor / pin up model. Along with her sharp blue eyes Anne Francis had a very alluring gaze, which captivated many men that lived in her era. She also stared in the classic TV series Dallas, back in the 80s. Although they are both deceased, both Leslie and Anne were in their prime, back in 1950s.

And here are some movie posters from the mid-1950s along with screen shots of the Forbidden Planet movie:

The legendary work that Leslie Neilson and Anne Francis did on Forbidden Planet had a far greater impact on the Sci Fi movie genre than they could have ever imagined. Leslie played the role of Commander JJ Adams in that movie, which was set in the 23rd Century. He and his crew were sent to planet Altair IV, about 16 light-years from the Earth. The mission of JJ Adams and the crew of the United Planets Cruiser C57-D was to discover the fate of an expedition team sent 20 years earlier to establish a colony on the distant alien planet. Unfortunately, there were just 2 survivors of that original expedition fleet: Altaira and Dr. Morbius. Anne played the role of Altaira, the daughter of Dr. Edward Morbius, an ingenious scientist whose crew had been stranded on that alien world. And that alien planet was initially inhabited by a hostile race called the Krell. But the Krells were all mysteriously wiped out in a single night about 200,000 years ago. Thus Commander JJ Adams was confronted with a dilemma; his mission was to survey and rescue any human survivors from the 20-year old expedition to planet Altair IV. But the persistence of Dr. Edward [the stranded survivor with his beautiful daughter] was drawing JJ Adams and his crew to join the exploration venture, in order to find out why the alien world was so dangerous and hostile. After the landing of JJ Adams' Cruiser C57-D on the alien world, the sci fi drama unfolds in the movie with elements of suspense..... and as the story progressed, it was quite intriguing. The special effects produced back in the 1950s by Albert Arnold Gillespie and his associates were certainly not the sort of thing produced today by Digital Domain [the guys behind the Transformers Movie Trilogy] or Industrial Light & Magic [the Special FX firm behind Star Wars]. And many scenarios in that movie were actually painted backgrounds with several hollow constructed props. This movie also featured "Robby the Robot" [shown on the left, above], one of the first robotic characters in movies. And he certainly preceded the programmable robots like R2-D2 from Star Wars.
Anyway, back in the 1950s, there was a guy who saw this Forbidden Planet movie in the theaters and it completely blew him away. His name was Eugene Wesley "Gene" Roddenberry (August 19, 1921 – October 24, 1991) and he later became a television screenwriter and producer. Wesley was also the creator of the original hit TV series Star Trek, which lasted 3 Seasons in its original run back in 1966 - 1969. Actor William Shatner was part of the original cast of that series and he played the role of Captain James T. Kirk, guiding his crew to "boldly go where no man has gone before". Star Trek has been re-interpreted several times over the past 5 decades, resulting in multiple series and about 11 movies so far. The core of Star Trek is its six television series: The Original Series , The Animated Series , The Next Generation , Deep Space Nine , Voyager , and Enterprise . The franchise also includes eleven feature films, dozens of games, hundreds of novels, as well as a themed attraction in Las Vegas (it opened in 1998 and closed in September 2008).
And it was Wesley Roddenberry who confessed in his autobiography that the Forbidden Planet inspired him to start his own sci fi series, 11 years after he saw the movie in theaters. Roddenberry received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and he was inducted into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences' Hall of Fame. Years after his death, Roddenberry was one of the first humans to have his ashes "buried" in outer space - honestly, that's taking things a bit too far, but I guess the folks who officiated his funeral had a ton of cash linked to his estate in order to pull that off.
BTW, check out these hilarious Motivational Posters based on Star Trek:
Many books, comics and movies have been created over the years, which are related to the Sci Fi themes inspired by Star Trek. Yet any work inspired by Star Trek is actually standing on the broad shoulders of the Forbidden Planet. And the 12th Star Trek movie [the sequel to the 2009 hit film] is slated to be released on May 17 2013. This sequel movie will be directed by JJ Abrams, and the first film's major cast members [including Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, and Zoe Saldana - they are shown in the middle poster at the top of this article] have signed on for two sequels.
The DSNG Sci Fi Series also takes inspiration from past great works in animation and live-action movies. In past blog articles, I've cited Star Wars as an inspirational franchise [it was created by American writer/director/producer George Lucas back in 1977. George was born on May14 1944]. Additionally, I was inspired by DBZ - Dragon Ball Z [created by Akira Toriyama, a prominent manga artist/writer from Japan. He was born in 1955].
DSNG is a futuristic saga set in an alternate galaxy, where there are 7 major planets and almost twice that many alien races, including the heroic Averans, the Scalatans, the Dinatours and the Katarans. And DSNG can be considered as a fusion of some concepts from both of the aforementioned franchises, while having an original identity of its own. Some time ago, an observant fan at the Deviantart.com Art Appreciation Website declared that DSNG was a Techpunk Series, thus placing it in a whole new category.

CHRISTMAS WITH SEXY CHRISTINA HENDRICKS, A REAL JESSICA RABBIT

Christmas Season is a time of cheer, peace and goodwill. And you don't have to be a Christian to celebrate Christmas - you really don't. In fact you really don't even need a reason to give a gift to someone that you love or care about, like a brother, sister, mother, wife or dear daughter.

But since DC Comics and Warner Bros have not given the green light to any New or previously canceled Wonder Woman Projects, we'll have to wait and see if that plan comes to fruition. Christina, who as born on May 3rd in 1975, stands at 5 feet 8 inches tall. And her voluptuous dress measurements in inches are approximately: 39-30-39. She was the voice of Lois Lane in the All-Star Superman animated movie that was released earlier this year. Most of the time she is seen on AMCs Mad Men Cable TV series. And in 2010 she won a Primetime Emmy Award for her role in that series.
[The Image on the right is by a popular digital artist named Reiq]

This holiday season, I've gathered some pics of Christina Hendricks from the Web and enhanced them slightly. "Busty Red head, Big tits boobs actress, sexy milf pawg breasts" - those are the sorts of search words that I get on the other end of this blog, linked to the previous article featuring Christina. I'm not in control of what people search for on the Web, but its clear to see that this female actress definitely has a lot of sex appeal. In that regards, since she is a redhead, she is actually like a real-life Jessica Rabbit.
Making her on-screen debut back in 1988, Jessica Rabbit was known for her famous red hair, her sultry appeal and her hourglass figure. Jessica was also part of the inspiration for the sexy Red Monika character, from the comic series Battle Chasers created in the 90s by Joe Madureira.

[image error] I've also noted that the most powerful empires in history, which lasted between 500 - 700 years, usually collapsed due to war and endless egotistical ventures spearheaded by men who never wanted to let go of power, resulting in autocratic catastrophes. You can study the history of the Roman Empire and the Ottoman Empire to see what I'm talking about, and trace the personalities / lifestyles of their leaders.
Nevertheless, most men have a common weakness: women. And if the Mad Men of this world [both in history and in the present] would focus more on making love as opposed to fighting wars, then maybe there is a chance for Ron Artest's uncanny ideal of sweet Metta World Peace, both on earth and in space -->
LMAO - Happy Holidays from the DSNG Artist.
