GENERAL OBED PRIMON AND LADY NEENA NEKASHA
These images come straight from the drawing board.
Often I get preoccupied with drawing sexy female aliens and pin ups. Yet I also have a strong passion for drawing dynamic sci fi stuff, such as combating warriors, martial arts and action sequences.
Shown in the first image on the left, General Obed Primon is actually a classic character; and those who followed my artwork back at DA about 5 years ago will recall seeing Obed and Elena Eden is several DSNG comic book covers. Obed is Elena's boyfriend, and she calls him her "bald big daddy". Their personalities are completely opposite, yet somehow they make it work. I talked about that issue in the first Elena article. And Obed was featured in another article tied to the Top 5 Centura elites, a group of Super Soldiers linked to the military forces of planet Avera. Prince Azzar isn't part of the Top 5; Azzar is actually ranked above them, although his military rank is SCO - Senior Commanding Officer - which places him below Obed in the authoritative histogram.
It was Azzar's cousin, King Titron, who made that specific military office for him. You'll have to read up DSNG Chronicles Book 4 to find out why that happened.
BTW, Obed is an Imperial Knight [Interplanetary warfare], while Azzar is an Alpha Senturi [black-ops soldier].
The second image showcases a pin-up sketch of Lady Neena Nekasha, the Matriarch of the Nauticons: an all-female race that hail from planet Macur, the Sea World. There are several other intriguing races that are based out of Macur, and once I get around to doing an elaborate article on that planet [as I did for Entrados, Planoris and Scalata] then you'll behold those various aliens and their historic backgrounds.

SIX DEEP - NEW URBAN SUPERHERO TEAM!
I recently did some fan art for a forthcoming comic book created by one of my buddies at facebook. His name is L.T. Thompson and the name of his superhero team is 6-Deep. This urban superhero group consists of 7 focal characters. Viz [he is the leader] leads a group of meta-human cops, based in the city of Detroit and set in modern times.
I'm a big fan of sci fi works and I can tell that this ambitious project has a lot of potential. Thus this project was fun to work on and I wanted to ensure that the theme of the poster was explosive.

From from the top, clockwise: Eartha [wearing blue, she has super durability and projects photonic energy/fire powers], Mix [can mutate his limbs], Mo [girl in dark-pink, manipulates kinetic energy in objects, affecting their density], Amp [sound manipulation/sonar powers], Dap [green guy, peculiar psychic abilities], Viz [bald guy, leader, super-speed & strength] and Slam [she can absorb and metabolize electromagnetic energy]

But over time, my story evolved, as did my art style and the ideas swimming through my head. I'm a self-taught artist, and the man that I consider as a mentor/art teacher is Pro-artist Terry Dodson, who has worked for Marvel, DC Comics & other comic publishing firms. Those who watch my work can actually see faint trails of that influence, dating back to the late 90s. And the sci fi concepts tied to my original characters have evolved as well. Now, in the DSNG Sci Fi series, Prince Azzar is a unique hero, yet he is also a super soldier set in a futuristic world. The DSNG ebooks that I write are centered around Azzar and they reflect his triumphs, adventures, passions and struggles, as a man striving to fulfill his destiny.

THE OTHER DC COMICS BILLLIONAIRE PLAYBOY - GREEN ARROW, THE NEW 52
Review of the Current Green Arrow [G-A] Series Issue #1 from DC Comics New 52
The New 52 DC Comics G-A series is written by J.T. Kurl [author & writer, from Aspen MLTs Fathom Series], and drawn by artist Dan Jurgens. George Perez did the inks on issue #1.
Oliver "Ollie" Queen aka the Green Arrow is a character that was originally created back in 1941. Designed as an archer, he is void of superpowers such as flight or energy pulses. And perhaps the most memorable interpretation of G-A was in the Justice League & Justice League Unlimited WB cartoon series, in which he was portrayed as the conscience of the group of DC superheroes who resided in the orbiting watchtower.
Now he's been slightly reinvented fro the New 52 relaunch. G-A is no longer a wisecracking cocky and rather humorous crime fighter. He appears to be more suave and rugged; which is a good thing. And the tag-line for this comic is quite interesting:
--Green Arrow is on the hunt. Driven by inner demons, Ollie Queen travels the world and brings outlaws to justice... by breaking every law. Now, armed with cutting edge weaponry and illegally gained intel, Green Arrow is shooting first and asking questions later--
In Green Arrow #1, the story opens up in Seattle, within the multistory tower belonging to Queen Industries [owned by the main protagonist, who is absent from a business meeting]. While Ollie is in Paris, the senior executives & directors are busy discussing business advancements and market trends, since Queens Industries is a global leader in energy, transportation, infrastructure development etc. They even make their version of Apple technology: the Q-phone and the Q-pad. I found that part rather interesting, since it actually gave more substance to their corporate resume and directly illustrated a modern source of immense wealth for the global firm. Yet there is a separate division of Queens Industries called Q-Core, which appears to be a rather covert branch [since it produces the technology for G-As gadgets].
Yet the absent hero appears to be linked into the ongoing board meeting, per his global com-network. While in Paris, he is hunting 3 criminals: Dynamix [bald male, brute strength], Doppleganger [female] and Supercharge, [male, electricity] as they are set to head into a yacht that has an on-board nightclub. The blond-haired & green-eyed hero takes on the 3 goons and defeats them out at sea, using his combat skills and cool tech gadgets. Then he returns to Q-Core headquarters in Seattle, where he meets with his two support operatives, Jax [tech genius, weapons creator] & Naomi [pro-hacker].
The story is a bit of an introduction/teaser, presenting the major players and a plethora of possible story arcs. When he returns from Paris to Q-Core HQ, Ollie speaks to Jax and claims that he'll never sit by idly and let innocent people die again; and that appears to be his reason for becoming a masked vigilante, so that he can make a difference with his own version of hard justice. It almost sounds like Ollie lost a lover in the past, or even a family member, per the tone and facial expression shown at that point in the book [and this is good, since it leaves room for a back-story, which will tell us exactly why inner demons are torturing him and who he let die in the past].
Yet the 3 villain's he tackled while visiting Paris in this story-arc appear to be the small fish - villains who are taping themselves and their escapades, before uploading it to Youtube to receive fame. I'm not sure what the hell a villain would do with that sort of publicity, beyond drawing attention to yourself so that guys like Ollie will be able to find you quicker and easier. But there could be more to this videotaping ploy. Just last month in October, in the real world, it was reported on Yahoo! News that a certain man has made about $100,000 so far this year from a YouTube video that got syndicated, featuring his baby son trying not to fall asleep in the back of his sedan. YouTube and Goggle have affiliate programs which offer users with popular videos an option to monetize your vid-clip; thus when people click on your video and they click on the Ads showcased on the page after that, then you, the owner of the video, can earn money. Thus someone who has a video with 20 million hits has the potential to make about $20,000... just some rough math, but I'm sure you see the point.
Perhaps that "online jackpot" result is what the 3 villains in Paris were hoping for. But on the other hand, they are not big time DC Universe villains like Penguin or Mr. Freeze. They are "small-time losers", according to Ollie. Honestly, Mr. Freeze would not be concerned with posting a video that turns into a YouTube sensation; he'd be more interested in robbing a guarded diamond depository, where he can forcefully acquire a large shiny rock tied to an ancient dynasty that's worth 50 million dollars.
Yet 2 of the imprisoned villains defeated by G-A [Dynamix and Supercharge], get rescued from the French police meta-cell at the end of issue #1. And they are redeemed from prison by a gang of 8 super-villains, led by a guy named Rush. And Rush claims that he wants to kill G-A and have that act televised. Again, beyond trying to profit over a huge YouTube media buzz or gain attention for major press appearances, I don't really see the need to capture the death of G-A on film, live.
So will the villains actually kill G-A? And does G-A have it in him to actually kill, even if its just in self-defense? These are interesting rhetorical questions, since this issue #1 appears to hint at "hard justice" being part of the lead hero's mentality. There is no mention of Black Canary, the female superhero that Ollie appears to have married in previous storylines [see cover image on the left, with Cheesecake art by Amanda Connor]. And if she shows up, will she be a hero or a villain? This is certainly an opportunity to divert from the tender romantic trend that was created in the 2007 special, which featured the hot romance between G-A and Back Canary.
Nevertheless, this is certainly a new take on classic comic storytelling, which has notoriously been known to follow very straightforward and predictable pathways. Thus, well done to J.T. Kurl and artist Dan Jurgens [yes, I can appreciate art even when it differs from my style]. I admire the way that modern trends are being inserted into the G-A storyline, making it feel updated and current. I give this comic book 4 out of 5 Stars. In my opinion, it should have been longer, but since 24 total pages is the standard comic book length, it just couldn't be helped.
BTW, Issue #3 of Green Arrow came out this week. If I have some free time, I may review that as well.

In Green Arrow #1, the story opens up in Seattle, within the multistory tower belonging to Queen Industries [owned by the main protagonist, who is absent from a business meeting]. While Ollie is in Paris, the senior executives & directors are busy discussing business advancements and market trends, since Queens Industries is a global leader in energy, transportation, infrastructure development etc. They even make their version of Apple technology: the Q-phone and the Q-pad. I found that part rather interesting, since it actually gave more substance to their corporate resume and directly illustrated a modern source of immense wealth for the global firm. Yet there is a separate division of Queens Industries called Q-Core, which is a rather covert branch [since it produces the technology for G-As gadgets].
Yet the absent hero appears to be linked into the ongoing board meeting, per his global com-network. While in Paris, he is hunting 3 criminals: Dynamix [bald male, brute strength], Doppleganger [female] and Supercharge, [male, electricity] as they are set to head into a yacht that has an on-board nightclub.The blond-haired & green-eyed hero takes on the 3 goons and defeats them out at sea, using his combat skills and cool tech gadgets. Then he returns to Q-Core headquarters in Seattle, where he meets with his two support operatives, Jax [tech genius, weapons creator] & Naomi [pro-hacker].
The story is a bit of an introduction/teaser, presenting the major players and a plethora of possible story arcs. When he returns from Paris to Q-Core HQ, Ollie speaks to Jax and claims that he'll never sit by idly and let innocent people die again; and that appears to be his reason for becoming a masked vigilante, so that he can make a difference with his own version of hard justice. It almost sounds like Ollie lost a lover in the past, or even a family member, per the tone and facial expression shown at that point in the book [and this is good, since it leaves room for a back-story, which will tell us exactly why inner demons are torturing him and who he let die in the past].
Yet the 3 villain's he tackled while visiting Paris in this story-arc appear to be the small fish - villains who are taping themselves and their escapades, before uploading it to Youtube to receive fame. I'm not sure what the hell a villain would do with that sort of publicity, beyond drawing attention to yourself so that guys like Ollie will be able to find you quicker and easier. But there could be more to this videotaping ploy. Just last month in October, in the real world, it was reported on Yahoo! News that a certain man has made about $100,000 so far this year from a YouTube video that got syndicated, featuring his baby son trying not to fall asleep in the back of his sedan. YouTube and Goggle have affiliate programs which offer users with popular videos an option to monetize your vid-clip; thus when people click on your video and they click on the Ads showcased on the page after that, then you, the owner of the video, can earn money. Thus someone who has a video with 20 million hits has the potential to make about $20,000... just some rough math, but I'm sure you see the point.
Perhaps that "online jackpot" result is what the 3 villains in Paris were hoping for. But on the other hand, they are not big time DC Universe villains like Penguin or Mr. Freeze. They are "small-time losers", according to Ollie. Honestly, Mr. Freeze would not be concerned with posting a video that turns into a YouTube sensation; he'd be more interested in robbing a guarded diamond depository, where he can forcefully acquire a large shiny rock tied to an ancient dynasty that's worth 50 million dollars.
Yet 2 of the imprisoned villains defeated by G-A [Dynamix and Supercharge], get rescued from the French police meta-cell at the end of issue #1. And they are redeemed from prison by a gang of 8 super-villains, led by a guy named Rush. And Rush claims that he wants to kill G-A and have that act televised. Again, beyond trying to profit over a huge YouTube media buzz or gain attention for major press appearances, I don't really see the need to capture the death of G-A on film, live.
So will the villains actually kill G-A? And does G-A have it in him to actually kill, even if its just in self-defense? These are interesting rhetorical questions, since this issue #1 appears to hint at "hard justice" being part of the lead hero's mentality. There is no mention of Black Canary, the female superhero that Ollie appears to have married in previous storylines [see cover image on the left, with Cheesecake art by Amanda Connor]. And if she shows up, will she be a hero or a villain? This is certainly an opportunity to divert from the tender romantic trend that was created in the 2007 special, which featured the hot romance between G-A and Back Canary.
Nevertheless, this is certainly a new take on classic comic storytelling, which has notoriously been known to follow very straightforward and predictable pathways. Thus, well done to J.T. Kurl and artist Dan Jurgens [yes, I can appreciate art even when it differs from my style]. I admire the way that modern trends are being inserted into the G-A storyline, making it feel updated and current. I give this comic book 4 out of 5 Stars. In my opinion, it should have been longer, but since 24 total pages is the standard comic book length, it just couldn't be helped.
BTW, Issue #3 of Green Arrow came out this week. If I have some free time, I may review that as well.

The New 52 DC Comics G-A series is written by J.T. Kurl [author & writer, from Aspen MLTs Fathom Series], and drawn by artist Dan Jurgens. George Perez did the inks on issue #1.Oliver "Ollie" Queen aka the Green Arrow is a character that was originally created back in 1941. Designed as an archer, he is void of superpowers such as flight or energy pulses. And perhaps the most memorable interpretation of G-A was in the Justice League & Justice League Unlimited WB cartoon series, in which he was portrayed as the conscience of the group of DC superheroes who resided in the orbiting watchtower.
Now he's been slightly reinvented fro the New 52 relaunch. G-A is no longer a wisecracking cocky and rather humorous crime fighter. He appears to be more suave and rugged; which is a good thing. And the tag-line for this comic is quite interesting:

BEAUTIFUL DIGITAL PAINTING - IMMORTAL FEMALE PORTRAIT BY MICHAELO
This is one of my favorite portrait pictures and it was created by a digital artist named Michaelo, and he has a gallery over at IT'S ART MAG dot com, along with a personal portfolio Website --> HIS GALLERY LINK.
There is something intangible about this drafted female head-shot that inspires a sense of intrigue, beauty and sheer resilience. She appears to have a silent strength, emanating through her eyes. Many have said that the eyes are a window to the soul; and a soul is akin to a deep mysterious well. Some souls are wells of good and others are wells of evil. Hence from that perspective, it is possible to get lost in the eyes of someone alluring, simply because you fell into an odyssey created by the depth of their beauty. Some will even call this concept "falling in love".
She almost looks like a timeless immortal woman, one who was birthed by the gods and yet forged of living clay.
On the other hand, she may even be a shapeshifter; a beautiful, sexy, alien woman capable of adopting any phenotypical form she desired, from her neck to her curvy bosom and down to her toes.
She also looks like a Femme Fatal character, one who defies the odds and never needs redemption from harm. Yet she also presents the air of a seductress, one who can lure you into a bed of warmth and comfort... only to stab you in the back when you were fast asleep.

She could be a trophy wife, or a strong trophy winner. Either way, my imagination runs wild when I look at this image; she possesses an elegant face that I can never get tired of gazing at.... and this portrait is aptly entitled Timeless Beauty...

SCARLETT JOHANSSON [THE BLACK WIDOW] TELLS THE NAKED TRUTH - REGARDING THE LEAKED PHOTOS
Back in September of this year, I wrote an article about Scarlett Johansson getting her smartphone hacked, as a notorious celebrity hacker accessed naked pics of her while she showed off her derriere to a bathroom mirror. And those naked pics of Scarlett circulated over the web like a message in a bottle floating across the sea - before her lawyers got a handle on things.

[image error] Scarlett Johansson does not seem the least bit ashamed when discussing her recent nude-photo scandal with Vanity Fair contributing editor Peter Biskind. "I know my best angles," she says with her trademark insouciance. "They were sent to my husband," now ex Ryan Reynolds. "There's nothing wrong with that. It's not like I was shooting a porno." She adds saucily, "Although there's nothing wrong with that either."
Johansson, who has been active in campaigning for various Democratic political leaders, including Barack Obama, tells Biskind that nearly one term later "We're all guilty of being idealistic, I and everyone who voted for him." But in response to being asked if she would work for him again, she says, "It would be irresponsible not to."
She also discusses her friendship with Woody Allen, spawned by their shared tendency toward hypochondria and, subsequently, shared Purell. "He shakes a lot of hands," Johansson explains. "I'll squirt some in my hand and then squirt in his." She also has a bizarre penchant for diagnosing him. "The only reason why Woody and I are still friends is because I've diagnosed all kinds of his skin tags, lesions, ailments. I've prescribed things for Woody that he's then asked his doctor to prescribe for him."
Despite their compatibility, after working with Johansson on several films, Allen decided they should take a break: "I have every intention of working with her again, but I just didn't think it was a great idea for either one of us to work together too intensely, picture after picture. I didn't want her to be burdened by, 'Oh, she's in all the Woody Allen pictures, it's so predictable,' and she's my new muse, and all that silliness." Johansson does not share his opinion: "I don't think anything's played out. I'm waiting for him to write my Citizen Kane."
Johansson says that her role in a revival of Arthur Miller's A View from the Bridge in 2009 opposite Liev Schreiber "completely took me over in every way. I'd spent four months bleeding all over the stage, completely exposed. I felt I was forever changed by that experience. It was unbelievable holding that Tony."
Her emotional and physical exhaustion after the end of the run was compounded by her subsequent divorce from Reynolds, after 2 years of marriage [they got married in 2008 and split in 2010]. "I didn't really know what to do with myself. It was such a strange time. There was nothing that was interesting to me. I had a very public separation. It was difficult. I felt very uncomfortable."

REVIEW OF NEW INDIAN SCI FI MOVIE - RA.ONE!
Something that Sci Fi fans from India and the rest of the world will enjoy!
I just heard about this new superhero movie today, which led me on a small odyssey across the Web. The new sci fi movie titled RA.One boasts the biggest film budget for any action movie from India to date. I actually like this one. The action seems crisp and the special effects take it up a notch. I know what a standard sci fi made-for-tv movie looks like. The SyFy Cable Channel is notoriously known for producing garbage like "giant alligator vs monster shark". And RA.One is definitely a cut above that group of flicks.
This movie stars prominent actor Shah Rukh Khan [shown with his electrifying superhero costume on the left] and it appears that he's a geeky dad [a software designer] who creates an all-powerful video game villain called RA.One to impress his wife and son. He also creates a good character called G-One. But the villain soon invades the real world and starts killing people, including Shah himself....
Of course good triumphs over evil in this Indian flick, but the story is heartwarming and its the sort of thing you can respect even if you are from a different culture.

Featuring Honk Kong styled martial arts, CG animation and videogame pyrotechnics, RA.ONE is a groundbreaking movie with tons of entertainment for young kids and kids at heart. It rolled out this past weekend - the Diwali weekend, the biggest Indian holiday, known in the Western World as the "Festival of Lights".
Starring Shah Rukh Khan and directed by Anubhav Sinha, the sci fi film features stunts and even some music numbers. And its beating heart lies in a commonplace story of a family and most especially a father and son who really don't understand one another. And the movie proves that actor Shah - who is known as SRK to his billions of fans - really does believe in family values and the power of cinema.
SRK plays the role of a "lame dad", who is a video game developer and he is married to a beautiful lady. His adoring Punjabi wife is Sonia (played by Kareena Kapoor, herself a major star) and they have a young son together named Prateek (Armaan Verma).
Prateek doesn't believe in his nerdy dad, who goes by the name of Shekhar. And the geeky father Shekhar keeps trying to impress his soon with Michael Jackson impersonations and other efforts that fail woefully.
In desperation, the nerdy dad accedes to his son's request — to create a videogame villain "who only wins," a complete badass that cannot be defeated by any player. This evil game sprite is dubbed by Shekhar's design team as Random Access One [or Ra.One, for short]. The created digital superhero who will attempt to defeat this super-villain, with little odds for success, is named Good One - G.One - and is shaped in the image of his creator, Shekhar.
(The explanation passes quickly but Ra.One is a loose play upon Raavan, the demon king in Hindu mythology, and G.One comes close to the Hindi word jeevan or life).
In an elaborate lengthy sequence, the computer lab that produces this video game runs amok as the villain RA.One becomes sentient and ultimately escapes the virtual video world to roam among men and unleash his devastation. He not only kills Shekhar's Chinese colleague Akaashi (Hong Kong-born martial artist Tom Wu) but confronts and kills Shekhar himself.
This is the film's emotional turning point. Shekhar's sudden widow and son must now confront all they miss in their late husband and father but also deal with his virtual replacement; since the son and Shekhar's computer team realize that the only way to combat Ra.One is by freeing G.One from the video game realm as well. So Shekhar's self-designed, lookalike warrior — Actor SRK minus the bad wig — moves into the real world to protect his family. Now G.One is targeted by Ra.One... and the freed superhero must track down and figure out the villain's latest guise, which include the late co-worker Akaashi to a number of other assumed identities. (Ra.One is mostly played by Arjun Rampal, another well-known Bollywood actor).
Major sequences include a demolition-derby chase through London city-center streets and an airport parking lot brawl to a runaway train in Mumbai that causes major CG destruction to the Victoria Terminus; and a final confrontation between the two virtual warriors in a world that moves increasingly into videogame terrain. Fittingly, Prateek teams up with his late dad's "super alter-ego" in this final duel.
Music numbers are nothing you would expect in the Terminator or Matrix films — both quoted from liberally — but the insertion of songs are quite common in a Bollywood film. However, here they actually suit story and character purposes, even at one point poignantly expressing the grief of a wife and son over the death of the father.
The acting pushes emotions as one would expect from a movie based on a fictional videogame that will most certainly become a real one. Some critics will claim that the young son, Prateek, delivers the most realistic and effecting performance. Yet SRKKapoor is gorgeous and beguiling, as the loving wife who later grieves for her loss; while Rampal makes a splendid villain.
During the credit roll, the film makes a point of showing behind-the-scenes clips of the stunts and effects, driving home two impressive points. One is that Shah Rukh Khan [SRK] did his own stunts in this 25-million-dollar sci fi action movie. And secondly, this movie also proves hat India can compete in the big leagues of stunts and Special-FX. Actor SRK, whose company Red Chilies Entertainment made the film with Eros International, has poured a lot of money into creating his own Mumbai special-effects house and RA.ONE is definitely a calling card to the global film world.

I don't know too much about Bollywood stars, but there is a prominent Indian actor that I would recommend to Western action movie fans. His name is Aamir Khan and he seems to be a man of many faces - implying that he can act in a variety of roles. He works-out a lot, thus he looks like a foreign action star. Born on March 14 1965, Aamir has been acting since the late 80s and he is a tennis state champion and an Indian voice-over / playback singer. Aamir started his own production studio in 2001 and his efforts have been met with commercial success. I just heard about this new superhero movie today, which led me on a small odyssey across the Web. The new sci fi movie titled RA.One boasts the biggest film budget for any action movie from India to date. I actually like this one. The action seems crisp and the special effects take it up a notch. I know what a standard sci fi made-for-tv movie looks like. The SyFy Cable Channel is notoriously known for producing garbage like "giant alligator vs monster shark". And RA.One is definitely a cut above that group of flicks.This movie stars prominent actor Shah Rukh Khan [shown with his electrifying superhero costume on the left] and it appears that he's a geeky dad [a software designer] who creates an all-powerful video game villain called RA.One to impress his wife and son. He also creates a good character called G-One. But the villain soon invades the real world and starts killing people, including Shah himself....
Of course good triumphs over evil in this Indian flick, but the story is heartwarming and its the sort of thing you can respect even if you are from a different culture.

Featuring Honk Kong styled martial arts, CG animation and videogame pyrotechnics, RA.ONE is a groundbreaking movie with tons of entertainment for young kids and kids at heart. It rolled out this past weekend - the Diwali weekend, the biggest Indian holiday, known in the Western World as the "Festival of Lights".
Starring Shah Rukh Khan and directed by Anubhav Sinha, the sci fi film features stunts and even some music numbers. And its beating heart lies in a commonplace story of a family and most especially a father and son who really don't understand one another. And the movie proves that actor Shah - who is known as SRK to his billions of fans - really does believe in family values and the power of cinema.
SRK plays the role of a "lame dad", who is a video game developer and he is married to a beautiful lady. His adoring Punjabi wife is Sonia (played by Kareena Kapoor, herself a major star) and they have a young son together named Prateek (Armaan Verma).
Prateek doesn't believe in his nerdy dad, who goes by the name of Shekhar. And the geeky father Shekhar keeps trying to impress his soon with Michael Jackson impersonations and other efforts that fail woefully.
In desperation, the nerdy dad accedes to his son's request — to create a videogame villain "who only wins," a complete badass that cannot be defeated by any player. This evil game sprite is dubbed by Shekhar's design team as Random Access One [or Ra.One, for short]. The created digital superhero who will attempt to defeat this super-villain, with little odds for success, is named Good One - G.One - and is shaped in the image of his creator, Shekhar.
(The explanation passes quickly but Ra.One is a loose play upon Raavan, the demon king in Hindu mythology, and G.One comes close to the Hindi word jeevan or life).
In an elaborate lengthy sequence, the computer lab that produces this video game runs amok as the villain RA.One becomes sentient and ultimately escapes the virtual video world to roam among men and unleash his devastation. He not only kills Shekhar's Chinese colleague Akaashi (Hong Kong-born martial artist Tom Wu) but confronts and kills Shekhar himself.
This is the film's emotional turning point. Shekhar's sudden widow and son must now confront all they miss in their late husband and father but also deal with his virtual replacement; since the son and Shekhar's computer team realize that the only way to combat Ra.One is by freeing G.One from the video game realm as well. So Shekhar's self-designed, lookalike warrior — Actor SRK minus the bad wig — moves into the real world to protect his family. Now G.One is targeted by Ra.One... and the freed superhero must track down and figure out the villain's latest guise, which include the late co-worker Akaashi to a number of other assumed identities. (Ra.One is mostly played by Arjun Rampal, another well-known Bollywood actor).
Major sequences include a demolition-derby chase through London city-center streets and an airport parking lot brawl to a runaway train in Mumbai that causes major CG destruction to the Victoria Terminus; and a final confrontation between the two virtual warriors in a world that moves increasingly into videogame terrain. Fittingly, Prateek teams up with his late dad's "super alter-ego" in this final duel.
Music numbers are nothing you would expect in the Terminator or Matrix films — both quoted from liberally — but the insertion of songs are quite common in a Bollywood film. However, here they actually suit story and character purposes, even at one point poignantly expressing the grief of a wife and son over the death of the father.
The acting pushes emotions as one would expect from a movie based on a fictional videogame that will most certainly become a real one. Some critics will claim that the young son, Prateek, delivers the most realistic and effecting performance. Yet SRKKapoor is gorgeous and beguiling, as the loving wife who later grieves for her loss; while Rampal makes a splendid villain.
During the credit roll, the film makes a point of showing behind-the-scenes clips of the stunts and effects, driving home two impressive points. One is that Shah Rukh Khan [SRK] did his own stunts in this 25-million-dollar sci fi action movie. And secondly, this movie also proves hat India can compete in the big leagues of stunts and Special-FX. Actor SRK, whose company Red Chilies Entertainment made the film with Eros International, has poured a lot of money into creating his own Mumbai special-effects house and RA.ONE is definitely a calling card to the global film world.

I don't know too much about Bollywood stars, but there is a prominent Indian actor that I would recommend to Western action movie fans. His name is Aamir Khan and he seems to be a man of many faces - implying that he can act in a variety of roles. He works-out a lot, thus he looks like a foreign action star. Born on March 14 1965, Aamir has been acting since the late 80s and he is a tennis state champion and an Indian voice-over / playback singer. Aamir started his own production studio in 2001 and his efforts have been met with commercial success. [image error] Kim filed for divorce from Humphries on Monday (October 31), coincidentally the scariest day of the year. Sources told the site that Kim is not seeking an annulment and cites "irreconcilable differences" as the cause for the split.
"After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage. I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision," Kardashian told MTV News in a statement. "I had hoped this marriage was forever but sometimes things don't work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best."
The couple reportedly have a prenuptial agreement and celebrity lawyer Laura Wasser has been tapped to represent Kardashian. According to TMZ, the pair's $10 million wedding cost approximately $138,888 a day as of October 31. A rep for Kim had not responded to MTV News' request for comment as of press time.

I can't say that I'm too surprised. But i had hoped that they'd stay together longer. Those who saw the glamorous multimilon dollar wedding they had will recall the insightful and yet stern words of the pastor who guided them in "tying the knot". Paraphrasing his words, he basically told them that the marriage would not work if they both didn't put their full effort into it.
But at this point, I have a searing suspicion that the entire thing was just a massive multimedia ploy, designed to get a host of celebrities to come for the American Royal Wedding, and then sell a host of merchandise items, dominate magazine covers globally, license out exclusive wedding photos [which were sold to People Magazine for over 5 million dollars] and boost the ratings of their rather laconic Reality TV-show and its forthcoming spinoff. Marriage really isn't an experiment for young frivolous kids. Kris really didn't marry Kim in front of the whole world just so he could have sex with her; hell, I'm quite sure he was gettin' it [face-down-@$$-up] long before they both said "I do."

Guys, life is not a game; it's too short for that. Marriage is a lot more serious than most people realize. It is supposed to be a sincere commitment between two people.... and I do understand that often, people "fall out of love" with one another. But in the case of Kim and Kris, it supposedly took them less than 3 months to realize that the extravagant ceremony was probably a waste of their damn time--supposedly. Like I said before, the whole thing was a publicity gimmick in my opinion, consciously adopted by two people who wanted to get paid. Apparently when there's a boatload of money to be made, celeb-reality stars will do whatever it takes to rake-in a profit in the long run.
This is Kim's second divorce.... but honestly, I really don't think she's countin'....

THE BEST OF RED MONIKA! - FROM BATTLE CHASERS
A Sexy Sultry Redhead...

Red Monika was conceived by artist/video game developer Joe Madureira [often refereed to as "MAD!"] back in the mid-90s. She has been described as a cross between Jessica Rabbit and Red Sonja. And in 1998, she showed up in the pages of a comic book called Battle Chasers, created by Joe Mad. Using Cheesecake art-styled themes, Joe purposely designed her with extremely large breasts, knowing that her voluptuous feminine curves would be a magnetic force, which would draw new fans to his work. And his ploy worked perfectly.
Known as a voluptuous bounty hunter, Monika grew up with Garrison [the focal character in the Battle Chasers comic book] and it is said that she trained him in sword combat, before they parted ways. She opted to become a bounty hunter, yielding her services to the highest bidder. And Garrison opted to become an adventurer striving for the cause of good and justice.
Monika came across as the sort of girl who was always looking for the next big job/payoff and she was more than ready to stab you in the back when you weren't looking.
And although she was technically a supporting character, Red Monika became far more popular than Garrison [who was tagged as a legendary swordsman with a powerful magical sword]. And over 10 years after the comic book series [which was plagued with production delays and ran for just 9 issues], there are still tons of pics of Monika on the Web. It appears that aspiring artists can seem to stop paying tribute to her dangerous curves.
There's a difference between a vicious femme fatal character and a soft "eye-candy" female character. Comic creators tend to consciously place their voluptuous females into those two categories. The femme fatals don't need saving, while the soft females usually require help / redemption from harm. Red Monika falls into the first group of sexy femme fatals. DSNG Characters like Kinera Foxx and Commander Yatalia fall into that category as well; while a bubbly spirited lady like Elena Eden was designed as a soft eye-candy character.
Two out of the three pics at the top of this article have the "DSNG Blog" logo, because I had to retouch therm in Photoshop to enhance their colors and image resolution - they were drawn back in the 90s. Here are some pics of Monika that I've selected from the Web:
