THE SAFE [2012 MOVIE] REVIEW!

Arguably The Best Jason Statham Movie Ever Made.

The tag line says it all. Over the weekend, I walked into the theater at Atlantic Station here in Atlanta, with my head hung low; I readily assumed that I was poised to waste my goddamn money on another action movie that was void of a solid plot or any respectable acting. And I was completely wrong.

I've followed Jason's career over the years, watching the big-budget and even the small-budget European movies he's made. And this new 2012 movie, Safe, is the BEST one he's EVER starred in. My applause of this flick relates not just to the acting by the British actor Jason Statham [which has improved dramatically from his rigid breakthrough Transporter days], but the script executed by the foreign writer & director, Boaz Yakin, actually played off nicely upon the strengths of the cast. I the Safe movie, you actually believe that the Chinese mafia were badasses and that the Russian mob were definitely heavy-fisted. But the story with two opposing street factions appears to have crooked cops and a duplicitous police chief interwoven perfectly into it.

[You may have to Click on the link that says "Read More" to see the rest of this article!]

Jason Statham [who plays Luke] gets caught up in the middle of an explosive maelstrom and no one really knows why he's a downtrodden MMA fighter with a string of bad luck at the very beginning... until halfway in the movie when his true history starts to unravel.... and the things he is naturally capable of doing as a martial artist & gunman now make sense; and his displayed skills help to back up his gritty resume by 100%. Check out these 3 screenshots from the movie, showing Jason Statham and the young girl, his costar Catherine Chan.

Look at that picture of Jason Statham on the left.... Now you have to be either crazy or one hell of a badass to walk with your crew into a pending Wild-Western-Shootout in the middle of NYC without a freaking BULLETPROOF VEST.... LOL

There is a little girl called Mei [pronounced May, and played by Catherine Chan] in the movie and as the movie preview clips illustrate, she is a child genius, roughly 11 - 12 years old. And both the Russian mob and Chinese mafia are after her. As the move progresses, she literally saves the life of the hero, who is down on his luck... and he returns the favor. Soon everyone wants Mei, either alive or dead. And her noble protector, Jason, finds himself in a tornado of chaos, blackmail and high-level manipulation. You can call this a dirt-cop movie, implying that the police were corrupt; but saying that only the cops were corrupt would be an understatement. The action scenes were perfectly choreographed, and the profanity wasn't high, although you'll feel the adrenaline rush throughout the flick. And yes, the famous "Wheelman" goes back to his Transporter roots and he often carjacks various rides in order to get from place to place.

Don't let the mediocre movie reviews out there fool you. This one was a very good action movie. And in the end, you will breathe a sigh of relief, & smile.... unlike the ending of the Act of Valor 2012 action movie [which would almost make you cry].

If you want to watch a happy movie with a girl in a glittering red dress, go and see the damn Olympic Starvation I mean the Hunger Games for the 5th time. But if you want to see an action-packed flick that will be worth every penny, go and see Safe!

COCO AUSTIN - CLASSIC PHOTO GALLERY

I've posted several blog articles in the past featuring  Nicole "Coco" Austin, the wife of Rapper IceT . Today I'm uploading some of her classic pics [and some new ones] showing her as she preps herself for going out to the beach and out to some formal events with her husband.

Coco is a certified Pawg. She was modeling before she met IceT, who currently works as an actor for the Law And Order: SVU Cable TV series. And Coco Austin stands at 5 feet 2 inches tall and her dress measurements are 39DD-23-40.

Per Coco's stunning physique, some people ignorant of her true personality may readily tag her as a dumb blonde; but the truth is, she is a "hustler". And by that, I mean she is an intelligent entrepreneur who readily takes advantage of lucrative opportunities. She utilizes her natural beauty to sell merchandise - magazines, DVDs, calenders, clothing line etc - while fully knowing that young men [and some women] will be rapidly compelled to purchase whatever she markets, as they are visually intrigued by her sexy body. Every guy that buys an issue of Smooth Girl Magazine, King Mag, XXL, Blackmen Magazine etc, with Coco shown on the cover image, secretly longs to bend her over & screw her brains out. But trust me buddy, that's NOT gonna happen. She is happily married to a gangsta rapper / actor, and they are currently god-parents & grand-parents.... can't fully explain it all here; you have to watch the Second Season of their current reality show titled  Ice Loves Coco, which airs on the E! Entertainment Cable Network on Sunday nights I think.

As most young men have noticed, one of the most asstonishing things about Coco is her big booty. Per Coco's own confession, she did get breast implants, but that badunk behind her is 100% real [Unlike Nicki Minaj]. Also, I've added a random Twitter Pic of some random chick on the web, just to show a comparison of how a curvy butt is more of an ethnic / African American feature....

The last three pics in the post are rather NSFW... So you'll need to click on the link that says "Read More" to see this rest of this article!

SCI FI FUTURISTIC CONCEPT ARMOR AND COSTUMES - PART 3

I've collected a host of posters that showcase sci fi / fantasy armor for both male and female warriors. You can call them super soldiers, marines, armored combat soldiers, mech warriors or even demon hunters. The bottom line is, these armor concept designs are contrived to protect their wearers, like exo-suits protect space explorers from adverse conditions outside the exospheric bands of their home planet.

Starcraft 2, Gears of War, Halo 4, Deadspace 2, Lost Planet 3, Ghost recon, Warcraft, Warhammer, Magic the Gathering, Modern Warfare and even the DSNG sci fi series; all these franchises present the fans & players with a variety of sci fi armor designs. And each armor design is as unique as the game / comic that the armored character is hosted within.

Targeted at aspiring artists and fans, this post [Part 3 of 3 articles in this blog] is a resource, showing you a broad variety of designs that hopefully will inspire you in your own artistic venture. The names of the selected artists are placed at the end of the post.

8 NEW MOVIE POSTERS FOR G.I.JOE RETALIATION! [G.I.JOE 2]

Via Screenrant.com, the new posters for G.I.JOE 2: Retaliation have been released. And they showcase 8 of the main cast members in the forthcoming sci fi action movie. Here's a brief rundown of the major roles played by some prominent actors:

The Rock [Dwayne Johnson] plays - Roadblock

Channing Tatum plays - Duke [He was in the first movie]

Adrianne Palicki plays -Lady Jay

Elodie Yung - Jinx

Ray Park - Snake Eyes

Byung-hun Lee - Storm Shadow

Bruce Willis plays - General Joe Colton, the Original G.I. Joe

[image error] [image error] [image error]

[image error] [image error] [image error]

Although this movie is set up to be a continuation of the original film that was launched back in 2009, this flick doesn't star some of the previous G.I. Joe cast members, like Sienna Miller [the sexy Baroness!], Marlon Wayans [Ripcord] and Rachael Nichols [Scarlett]. This issue actually bothered me, because I'm big on "continuity" when it comes to sequels. In fact, The actor for the new Cobra Commander [the leader of the villains] is yet to be confirmed or even listed, although the bad guy who infiltrated the U.S. Government's Executive Cabinet back in the first movie [Zartan, played by Arnold Volsoo the infamous "Mummy"] is back in this sequel.

Another popular web rumor is that Duke is going to die in the Second Act of the new G.I.Joe 2 movie..... WTF?? Duke actually DIES?? He gets killed?? Is that even possible?? - True fans of the original cartoon know that Duke is revered character, just like Optimus Prime. So killing him is like breaking a sacred law; its just not a wise thing to do.

Yet despite all these discrepancies, director Jon M. Chu seems to be poised to present fans of the classic 1980s franchise with something new and dynamic. Lets hope this one has a solid plot.... or else Jon Chu might end up directing cereal commercials for the rest of his career ;)

The G.I. Joe 2 : Retaliation movie is slated to be released on June 29, 2012.

A SALUTE TO FRANK CHO, BRANDY, JUNGLE GIRL & TRIPPING THE RIFT!

Recently on the DSNG Facebook page, we showcased a toy statue made for Emma Frost [the White Queen from Marvel Comics], which had the alluring face of actress Alice Eve, a hot British blonde [the previous article on Alice Eve is over Here].

I did some more surfing and found another popular toy statuette, made in the image of Jana the Jungle Girl [a popular comic character published by Dynamite Ent., which ran as two brief mini-series from 2007 - 2009]. "Jana the Jungle Girl" is often confused with "Shana the She Devil" [and they truly look like sisters].

Anyway, this toy statue shown below was contrived from the artwork of Frank Cho, a notarized Cheesecake artist who started a newspaper comic strip that projected him to fame and fortune. You can take a look at the statue of Jungle Girl, and compare it to the cover artwork drawn by Frank Cho.

Notice the gawking parrot shamelessly placed on the tree stub, right between Jana's legs...... Frank is known for inserting sexual gags into his work, along with his common curvy depiction of the female form. This statue costs about $250 dollars, so its definitely for those who really love to collect "echi toys".

You may have to Click on "Read More" to see the rest of the artwork / wallpapers in this long article!

Liberty Meadows - The Adult Animated Series??

One of Frank's most famous characters is Brandy [the busty dark-haired female shown above] who was part of the main cast of Liberty Meadows [his comicstrip started in the late-90s, that transcended into a popular comic book published by Image Comics]. Rumor is, Liberty Meadows almost became an animated series several years ago, when Sony Ent. picked it up for a pilot episode. According to Frank, the pilot script he presented was too raunchy for the execs to handle. Then it was toned down and produced as a pilot. But when the execs saw it, they now said it wasn't mature enough, meaning that more changes had to be made to it, in order to amp-up the adult humor.... and later the Sony exec who supported the project was fired; thus the Liberty Meadows animation series was left suspended in cartoon limbo, before it was eventually dropped due to an inactivity clause in the contract [meaning that Frank got back the rights to do whatever he wanted with his property, after about about 2 years of stagnation].

That's quite a pity, because I have a feeling that Liberty Meadows would have been better than the load of cartoon junk that is pumped out in the form of prime-time cartoons today on Fox and Cartoon Network. I really don't like American Dad and a lot of the Family Guy episodes - a lot of that stuff really isn't that funny. In my opinion, they're more stupid than funny. But Seth MacFarlane is still a Billionaire today, due to the multiple adult animated series that he spearheads, so someone out there must enjoy his stuff ;)

Anyway, Frank is a true Cheesecake artist, and this trait is signified by the voluptuous female forms that he draws; and this art style is basically a gimmick, which attracts a predominately male audience and coerces the fanboys to pay for the item showcased, which in this case is captivating art.  If you take a look at the artwork below done by Frank Cho for Marvel Comics, you can see that the hourglass shape of She-Hulk is literally over-emphasized; and Frank purposely gave her a big butt in both sequences - Not that I'm complaining; after all, I'm a Cheesecake artist as well....

BTW, If you want to know about a certified adult animated series, the Google Tripping the Rift, aka TTR [part of the DVD cover is shown on the right side, above].... Good lord; that CGI animated series put the "Ass" in Asstonishing. Debuting back in 2004, it featured a purple alien guy named Chode and his sex-slave robot named Six, along with a crew of misfits who travel across the galaxy doing odd jobs to make money. Chode's arch-nemesis was called "Bobo the Clown" and the cartoon episodes were full of "echi shots", busty female aliens and tons of adult humor, plus some censored sexual situations [especially in the third season, which ended back in 2007].

Swimming through space aboard the Jupiter-42 spacecraft, the 5 main characters in Tripping the Rift are basically like a dysfunctional family, set in a sci fi universe. This CGI adult series ran for three seasons and was showcased on the Sci Fi Cable Channel [long before their name change to Sy Fy], for a while. It ran uncut in Canada and that's where CineGroupe, the production studio behind the series, was based. Not sure if they'll do a fourth season of that series.... but I'd probably check it out on the Web if they did.- Article written by the artist & author of the DSNG Sci Fi Series

ANGELINA JOLIE BECOMES AN EVIL WITCH? - MALEFICENT WALLPAPER AND SCI FI MOVIE NEWS!

MALEFICENT, HANSEL & GRETEL, PLUS STAR TREK 2 NEWS!

You've seen her as the busty treasure hunter in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider [2001]. You loved her as the elite killer in Mr. & Mrs. Smith [2005]. You've watched her as the enigmatic gunslinger in Wanted [2008]...... and you watched her and said "Well, WTF?" in Salt [2010]. And now, she is poised to become a wicked witch with lime-green skin.... figuratively of course.

Earlier this week at a press conference, Walt Disney Studios announced a U.S. release date of March 14, 2014, for Maleficent, starring Angelina Jolie in the title role as Disney’s ultimate villain. The live-action film explores the origins of the evil fairy called Maleficent and what led her to curse Princess Aurora in Disney’s animated classic Sleeping Beauty. The details on the movie's plot are still sketchy, but I'm not sure if the entire storyline is going to just show "how a good girl turns bad". And the word Maleficent actually means: "capable of producing evil or harm, harmfully malicious".

Nevertheless, here are some profile pictures / headshots of Angelina Jolie, allowing you to see how the gifted actress has taken on different roles over the years, while her alluring focus and luscious lips always remain the same.

In other news, it is rumored that British actress Alice Eve has joined the cast of Star Trek 2 [slated for 2013] in a supporting role; and that sci fi movie should be released next year. This blonde bombshell has a certain magnetism around her, as she was previously featured in the movie She's Out of My League [2010]. Alice would probably make a very sexy / seductive White Queen, for the Xmen: First Class movie sequel [slated to start production in 2013]. And per the action figure modeled with her true sexy shape shown above, the leading role of the incomparable Emma Frost would certainly fit Alice very well.

And although he is currently one of the stars in the forthcoming The Avengers movie from Marvel Comics Inc., Jeremey Renner has already filmed an action-comedy-fairytale-adventure titled Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, which will be released in the first quarter of 2013. Gemma Arterton is his costar / sister in the movie, and I'm not too sure if fans should expect a cross between Van Helsing and Underworld, per the Steampunk / Neo-Victorian vibe that is emanating from the preview wallpaper shown above.

Check out the classic blog article titled "What is Sci Fi?" Which discusses the Steampunk Genre: HERE

SCI FI GUNS, WEAPONS, HANDGUNS, LASER RIFLES

I get a lot of Google searches coming from people scouting the Web looking for "sci fi guns". This blog hosts the DSNG sci fi series [More about DSNG over Here] and there are a ton of articles that I've done in the past showcasing futuristic character designs, along with sample sci fi weapons wielded by the characters; thus the highlighted blog search results make sense. I decided to proceed and create a comprehensive article, an online resource that showcases various sci fi weapons, guns and laser blasters. I've gathered a host of these concept art images from other forums and art hosting Websites; and I'll try to include the names of the original digital artists that created the futuristic concept weapons, which include handguns, hand cannons, assault rifles, sniper rifles, las-pistols, laser beam cannons, anti-matter weapons, automatic carbines, machine-guns, sci-fi guns, posters and other dynamic blasting gadgets.

LAURA DUBOIS & TAMMY TORRES - SEXY CURVES

Today I'll slide away from sci fi and present some eye-candy. I've had Tammy's pics in a folder on my desktop for a while; decided to put it into an article, along with one of the prominent female characters in the DSNG sci fi series: Laura Dubois. I often draw using sexy poses from real-life models and the samples below will verify this.

Residing on planet Avera, Laura Dubois is a renowned District Attorney for the mega state of South Philadelphia and she is an ex-girlfriend of Prince Azzar, the main hero in the DSNG sci fi series.  I've done a few articles featuring posters of Laura in the past, including the post about the ebook "DSNG TALES: UNUSUAL SUSPECTS" - archived Here, along with the article about the Cheesecake art style.

Tammy [Tamara] Torres is the ex-girlfriend of rapper Lil Wayne and she is clearly an urban hip-hop model with a big butt. Honestly, I don't know how in the world they ended up together.... beyond the fact that he is a famous affluent rap artist. Anyway, Tammy Torres was born in Florida and she is of Cuban /American descent. Since she was born in 1986 she is about 25 and her height is 5'3" while her measurements are 34C-26-40. I almost would have thought she was a Brazilian Pawg, or perhaps a sexy latina from one of the South American destinations [the infamous article that talks about Pawgs is over HERE].

On the other hand, Laura Dubois hails from planet Avera in the Makuran Galaxy; thus she's practically an alien being and she is over 100 years old. Yet Averans don't age like humans, save for changes in their hair color. And Laura is far more voluptuous than Tammy, since her dress measurements are: 40G-26-45.

DROPSHIPS, SPACESHIPS & STEAMPUNK CRUISERS - PART 3

I've gathered a few more samples from the Web, showcasing futuristic Spaceships and Dropships. Dropships can be viewed as Aerial Personnel Carriers [a variant of the "APC" abbreviation], which can hover above the ground and climb into high altitudes. Most dropships have VTOL - Vertical Take-Off and Landing - capabilities, which make them extremely versatile on the battle field, or for transporting bulk cargo.

And Spaceships usually refers to an internally pressurized craft that can travel through the exosphere of space, from one planet to another. Along the creative vein of spaceships, we also have fighters, bombers, armadas, warships, and battle cruisers; and there are different defining boundaries that describe the various crafts that fall into those categories.

Perhaps one of the most popular "dropship-styled helicopters" is the Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey [shown in this past article], which was utilized in the Transformers Movie Trilogy directed by Michael Bay, for transporting NEST troops and the Autobots around the globe. Concept designs / artwork from the Halo Wars franchise and another video game called Section 8: Prejudice are presented below:

The three spaceship / dropship wallpapers shown above were done by digital artist Ignacio Bazan Lazcano [we'll showcase more of his outstanding work in the near future]. And the orthogonal overview images below were done by the Bungie design team for Microsoft, owner of Halo Wars.

The sleekest looking dropship I've seen so far comes from Star Wars: the Old Republic video game and its called the Phantom X-70B. I think it may actually be an armada class vessel per its large size. And a sample of its large comfy interior is shown as well.

WRATH OF THE TITANS 2012 MOVIE REVIEW!

WARNING: Some Spoilers Are Included.

The new Wrath of the Titans movie [a sequel to the Clash of the Titans released about 2 years ago] debuted yesterday; and it was quite an epic showcase of Special-FX and dynamic action. It stared Sam Worthington as Perseus, the Demigod son of Zeus [played by Liam Neeson] and the female lead role of Andromeda was played superbly by Rosamund Pike, a British actress. The trio of humans that were featured was rounded-off by Demigod Agenor the son of Poseidon, played by Toby Kebbell.

The story starts out rather slow paced, with Perseus living the life of a humble fisherman. But the explosive chaos soon unfolds right after he gets a warning visit from his father, Zeus [who has the ability to take over human bodies at will, even when he's somewhere else]. Perseus [Sam Worthington] is warned of a coming calamity as the people have stopped praying, thus the gods of Olympus have lost a great deal of their powers to keep the demons / monsters bound in Hades, within the prison in the core of hell known as Tartarus. But Perseus now has a young 10-year-old son named Helius, whom he wants to stay alive for and mentor - thus he wants no part in the forthcoming war.

[image error]   [image error]   [image error]

Less than 24 hours later, all hell brakes loose.... literally; and a Chimera beast attacks the fishing village where Perseus resides. The laconic hero is forced to spring into action and he slays the peculiar winged beast. This Chimera is one of the four mythical creatures featured in the movie and it has two heads [lioness and she-goat], and wings like a classic gryphon. Yet its tail is a venomous snake monster, and its two beastly heads can unleash a fluid that ignites like petroleum, unleashing fiery breath.

After that clash in which Helius is nearly killed, Perseus heads to a devastated mountain temple to pray. There, the god Poseidon shows up and is staggering with weakness... and he confesses that Ares [a certified bad-ass, played perfectly by Edgar Ramirez]  has joined forces with Hades, and they plan to unleash all the monsters in the Tartarus prison, especially the giant lava monster Kronos [who happens to be the father of the gods of Olympus... weird, but this is a sci fi / fantasy story, so stay with me]. And by the way, Zeus has been captured and put in chains, and his drained powers will be used to resurrect Kronos. After delivering the message, Posiedon turns to stone and literally dies.... yes folks, a god literally dies and crumbles like shattered concrete right before the eyes of the hero.

And once I saw this, I again said... WTF??? This is not the first movie in which I've seen the paradoxical demise of a divine immortal being. This sort of thing also happened in the 2012 movie  "Immortals", which starred the Man of Steel, Superman, aka Henry Cavil. Once again in the theater, I was caught up in a cycle of deliberative thoughts that are summed up in this two-part rhetorical sentence:

SO WHY ARE THE GODS DYING?? AREN'T THEY FREAKIN' GODS??

[Above on the left: Ares, played by Edgar Ramirez, was one of my favorite performances of the whole movie. He also wielded a mystical transformable club / hammer that was 10-times better - in terms of its functionality and application - than the one utilized by Marvel's Thor]

[You may need to Click on the link that says "Read More", to see the rest of the pics in this lengthy article!]

Now Perseus, Agenor, Andromeda and a small team of warriors set out to find a fallen god named  Hephaestus (played by Bill Nighy),who lives on an "invisible island" that no one can find out at sea, except Agenor; aka the famous Navigator.

The story continues.... And later, Ares shows up, to "answer a prayer" by a young lady.... but he does the unthinkable when he arrives on the scene to confront Perseus and his team. The action continues and the other mystical beasts [the Minotaur and the Makhai] later show up; and the CGI scenes are very well done, blending the monsters into the ancient Greek battlefield.

Eventually towards the end of the movie, Zeus and Hades [who strangely reminded me of the WWE's Brothers of Destruction - Undertaker and Kane] have to team up and they battle against Kronos and his minions, in order to assist Perseus who has to fuse three mystical weapons that belong to the gods: the trident of Poseidon, the lightning bolt of Zeus and the spear of Hades. Together, the weapons transform into the "Spear of Triam", which looks like a large glowing thunderbolt, shown in one of the pics below]. Honestly, I've left out a lot of details, so that I don't completely spoil the movie for those who still hope to see it.

Now here are my other opinions on this flick. Character development was not the strong point. Yet you will find yourself drawn into the storyline, if you are a fan of non-stop action. The actors all did excellent jobs and there were elements of humor. Yet I felt that the fatherly bond between Perseus and Helius was one of the strong points of this movie, showing the depth of love / commitment that a father should have for his son, not wanting any harm to come to the young lad.

The end of the movie was rather lackluster in my opinion. And you may actually feel a bit letdown by the way the story ends. Perseus does get a chance to lock lips with Queen Andromeda, since they developed a bond of camaraderie throughout the story. But he does not take advantage of her budding passions, which shocked me. At the end, the door was wide open... he should have manned-up and "scored"... but instead he pulled the infamous "Ryan Gosling Drive Movie Blunder" and walked away from the prize. If you are curious about that referenced issue, the review of the 2011 Drive movie is over HERE. Yet the kiss between Perseus (Sam Worthington, aka Jake-the-Sully) and Andromeda (Rosamund Pike) isn't the last scene that moviegoers will see. You'll see something else as the ending... and you'll probably be mad as hell....

I shall leave you with the score I've given to the Action Movie [because that's exactly what is was]: 8 out of 10. It was good, but it certainly could have been concluded much better.
