DSNG'S MOVIE REVIEW OF THE DARK KNIGHT RISES!!
*OF COURSE THERE ARE SLIGHT SPOILERS INCLUDED!!*
I shall try not to give away too much, but I make no guarantees!! If you just want posters from this movie, click HERE!!
And the Batman saga by writer / director Christopher Nolan comes to an end.... But not without one hell of a bang. This sci fi action movie ended with a nuclear bomb going off. But the build up to that grand finale was actually very well done.
I will honestly confess that this is my favorite Batman movie out of
the Trilogy by Nolan. It was well written, and it ended well, setting
things up for the imagination of the audience to fill in the gaps on the
future events.
Christian Bale donned the mask and cape
for the third and final time, yet this movie actually started with him
using a walking stick - it continued directly from the epilogue of the
previous Batman movie, in which he took one hell of a beating at the
hands of Harvy Dent [two-face] and the insane Joker, before fleeing and becoming the "Wanted Dark Knight".
Catwoman [played perfectly by Anne Hathaway] was introduced rather early in the movie. She seems to have been a crook / thief since her youth, yet she was able to pass all the job interviews and infiltrate the ranks of the stewards at the Wayne Mansion [probably due to her good looks]. The sexual undertone between Catwoman and Bruce Wayne [Christian "Deep-Bat-Voice" Bale] was evident from the start; and in her own unique way, she actually helped him get out of the pit of depression and self-pity... by stealing his mother's pearls and fleeing the mansion - but it later became apparent that Ms. Selina Kyle stole something else as well, on that night. They did kiss a few times in this flick... and Bruce Wayne actually Got Lucky with a hot chick - but I won't tell you who the lucky female was.

BATMAN TO BANE: "WHERE IS THE DETONATOR? WHERE IS THE DETONATOR?" LOL
And I know that I previously tagged the Joker as insane, in a paragraph above. But trust me folks, the new villain Bane [played by Tom Hardy] was just as crazy as that other guy with the white face-paint. Bane appeared to have a morphine addition that kept him from feeling pain, as regular humans do. And apart from beign an extremely muscular guy who had no fear [he was linked to the same secret society called "The League of Shadows" that trained Batman years ago], he was also a certified pychopath who believed in the ultimate ideal of freedom - social freedom, political freedom and financial freedom; freedom from rules, from social classifications and even freedom from all forms of judicial structure.
Instead, Bane's philosophy is that we should all be free to do whatever the hell we want, and the poor should have the right to judge the rich and powerful for using them, taking so much of the society's wealth and resources - while virtually leaving nothing for the humble guy at the bottom of the totem pole.
Truth be told, one of the ways that big corporations cheat their city and beat the tax system is by outsourcing jobs to foreign nations and building production factories there [the sweatshops with cheap labor that produce potato chips, small gadgets, t-shirts, sneakers, jeans etc]. And just by doing that, you actually do transfer jobs out of a nation, and the folks overseas don't even get paid what they really deserve for their hard work... and the corporation gets huge tax cuts, since they can even "cook-up the books" and hide the true profit numbers from their interactions overseas, which the diligent but limited IRS won't be able to fully investigate. Yes, I said it.... this is my damn blog and I can tell-it-like-it-is anytime I want to!! :D
Now back to the topic at hand: Bane and his universal ideal of complete Freedom. This is actually a dangerous thing... because freedom in itself, when abused, will lead to anarchy and actually a
great deal of bloodshed. Somehow I felt traces of the French
Revolution [1789–1799] and the death of King Louis the XVI of France,
when I watched this movie. There was a nostalgic vibe that reminded me
of that true historic event that took place back in 1793, a few years
after the national chaos began in France and King Louis was mercilessly judged for just... being
himself - i.e., a greedy monarch. His innocent wife, Marie Antionette, was
murdered several months later, in the same year of 1793. Her crime was...
well, being married to the King. The ruling council of the commoners in
charge of administering hard justice really couldn't tag Marie Antionette with
anything such as embezzlement, fraud, mass-murder or other crimes. So
they just killed her for being linked to the monarchy.
And
in this new Nolan-Batman-Trilogy, there is a people's court established
after Bane turns the whole city upside-down [remember the movie
commercial in which Bane blows up a football field from underground,
while derstroying all the bridges that lead into the "Island City" of Gotham, save for just one bridge]. And a bunch of rich folks get exiled /
executed by "the people" while Batman was literally exiled, and he was facing his worst fears.
[BTW, You can find the colored version of that sexy Catwoman / Batman poster over HERE!]
Of all the superhero movies that I've ever watched, this one made me think. If you recall, the Joker [played by the late Heath Ledger] was a certified pycho, who just wanted to watch the world burn. But Bane actually wanted a New World Order, punctuated by the violent reform / forceful revolution of the people of Gotham; and this revolution would be culminated in the annihilation of Gotham City, as it would be wiped off the face of the planet with one hell of a bomb.
Talia al Ghul, the daughter of Ra's al Ghul [the main villain from the first Batman movie], was carefully intertwined into the movie plot. I have a popular article on her and all of the women that Bruce Wayne has dated over the years, in the Batman comics, cartoons and movies, over HERE. And somehow Talia proved that "hell hath no fury like the wrath of a woman scorned," especially a woman whose father was killed by Batman in the first movie of the Nolan-Batman-Trilogy.
[Batman and his EMP gun are shown on the left]
The introduction of Joseph Gordon-Levitt who played the young brazen police officer named Blake was actually a key move by the director. And Blake did play a critical role in saving day, even though he had no "super powers". But let's face it, no one in the Nolan-Batman-Trilogy has any real superpowers; the characters are all just freakishly strong and durable. And even Catwoman was kicking-ass & taking-names :) Plus, at the very end of the movie, we find out who will be the future "Robin"....
And the new Batjet hovercraft - simply called "the Bat" - also took center stage, dominating the sky as it combated the the multiple rogue Batmobiles. After I saw its overall appearance, I really didn't like the design of the Batjet that much; honestly, it could have been done better. But generally, the fans will still enjoy the hi-tech vehicles shown off in this movie.
I haven't bought any of the previous Batman movies on Blue Ray / DVD.... but I just might have to add this one to my collection, because it was just that damn good. The action sci fi movie did last for 2 hours 45 minutes.... but I think they should have just made it 3 hours long. There were a few rushed relationships and fast-forwarded character interactions. And sometimes, when directors cut out critical "slow talking scenes" they don't realize that the movie can loose A LOT of substance. The Chronicles of Riddick [released in theaters back in 2004] is a perfect example of that "over-shortening" process. And if you watch the Looong Unrated DVD, you'll actually get to understand and appreciate that Vin Diesel movie a whole lot better.
Well, after all is said and done, this new Dark Knight Rises movie gest TWO THUMBS UP from me :)

BTW - The Batman Colorado Movie Theater Shooting -
My prayers go out to the victims of the recent shooting in Colorado - some crazy guy opened fire last night at a movie theater that was premiering the Nolan-Batman movie around midnight, killing 12 people and injuring 59 others. That stupid crazy 24-year-old was grabbed by the police less than 40 minutes after he opened fire on the innocent people... and he literally claimed to be "The Joker."
The name of the fool behind the massacre is James Holmes, some idiotic dropout who was once pursuing a medical degree. And I was also shocked to hear that there was an innocent young lady named Jessica [Redfield] Ghawi, 24-years old, who was shot and killed by James in the earliest hours of July 20th, 2012.... yet she had just survived a previous shooting at a mall about 6 weeks ago, on June 2, 2012.
After graduating from the University of Texas at San Antonio, Jessica had
been looking for a job in broadcasting. And after interning with Mike
Taylor, a sportscaster at San Antonio's Ticket 760, she got a new job in
Denver, primarily covering hockey. That was why she moved to Colorado, just to work, not to be terminated by an inane bastard.
I don't have any deep insightful comments on that event, but I do pray that the families of the bereaved will somehow find comfort in these trying times... and the S.O.B behind the shooting should get "The electric chair" for this one. Yes, I said it; because he deserves it. Period.
Putting this into context with the stuff I wrote in the paragraphs above, James Holmes is a man that abused his civil freedom. Yes he had a right to buy his AR15 and other automatic guns, but he did not have the right to execute innocent people for no damn reason...

JESSICA RABBIT SHOWED UP AT THE 2012 COMIC CON!
The legendary cartoon vixen Jessica Rabbit [who got in trouble years ago for playing "patty-cake" with some dude she wasn't married to] - She's probably immortalized within every fanboy's mental fantasy folder - especially if you grew up in the mid-80s and early-90s. Check out the vid-clip below from the San Diego Comic Con that showed a real-life Jessica Rabbit in the form of a redhead cosplay. This anonymous female cosplayer certainly had the voluptuous figure for the task; and she won the "Chocolate Clondite Bar" prize she sought. The vid is courtesy of IGN.com; and if the vid-player doesn't work, just enjoy the wallpaper below.

SAN DIEGO COMIC CON 2012 NEWS-BYTES: ITEM 47 AND THE EXPENDABLES 2!
You would think that making approximately 1.5 billion dollars in the global box office and having the title of the 3rd highest grossing movie of all time would be enough... but apparently Marvel Studios is still trying to milk The Avengers movie franchise... Check out this poster below for a forthcoming Marvel movie advertised at the 2012 San Diego Comic Con called "ITEM 47".
Per the loose synopsis, this movie will star two youngsters that find an abandoned hovercraft gizmo formerly used by a Chitauri warrior [one of the minions that were part of Loki's Alien Army]. And it will also feature a pair of SHIELD Agents, who are trying to reclaim that gizmo as classified evidence.
Check out the summary below given to Entertainment Weekly:
__________________________________________________
Directed by Marvel co-president Louis D’Esposito, the premise of Item 47 is that a not-so-ethical young couple (Party Down‘s Lizzy Caplan and Flags of Our Father‘s
Jesse Bradford) recover one of the lost alien weapons and figure out
how to make it work. Then, of course, they have to figure out what to do
with it — and their solution is a life of crime.
S.H.I.E.L.D. agents played by Lost‘s man-in-black Titus Welliver, and Maximiliano Hernández (reprising his role as Sitwell from Thor and The Avengers) are assigned the task of stopping them and getting the weapon back.
__________________________________________________
There is no word on a release date for that Avengers spin-off yet... but if Marvel doesn't take care and do it right, they'll just end up shooting themselves in the foot and wasting their money. The Avengers 2012 Movie was literally a masterpiece, and I wrote a long positive review full of screenshots about it over HERE. And a masterpiece usually doesn't need any sloppy additions to make it perfect, since it stands on its own as a classic.
On a more positive note, there was one panel on Thursday the 12th of July that had fanboys & girls applauding with joy and roaring with laughter, while their hearts were overflowing with eager anticipation.....
ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER AND SYLVESTER STALLONE SHOWED UP TOGETHER AT THE SAN DIEGO COMIC CON!!
Per the star-studded Expendables 2 cast, this forthcoming movie is destined to be filled to the brim with explosive scenarios and bad-ass features.
[You may need to click on the word link that says "Read More" to the see the rest of this lengthy article!]
Remember he said, "I'll be back,"... and the Governator was welcomed back with a thunderous applause when he walked into Hall H at the San Diego Convention Center! Additionally, MMA warrior Randy "the Natural" Couture is in the movie, as
is Dolph Lundgren, a famous villain from the 1985 boxing movie
Rocky IV [Sylvester was the star of that classic cult movie, battling for the USA].
Terry Crews, the muscle-ripped brother, was also there for the panel discussion in Hall H as well. And several lucky fans in that auditorium got to see exclusive footage from the forthcoming EXPENDABLES 2 movie - which is slated for release on August 17th 2012.
Brief History Notes on Martial Arts Legends:
** Having grown up in the 80s and watched martial arts actors like Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, Jackie Chan and Cynthia Rothrock in their primes, I have always been a fan of action flicks, especially when they featured mixed adrenaline shots of karate, kung fu & other elements that made young hearts to leap with excitement. Jackie and Cynthia did a ton of movies in the 80s & 90s, without the elaborate cable-stunt-rigs that have plagued many martial arts action flicks in recent times. Check out some classic footage of the blonde chick Cynthia Rothrock [the lady who inspired the Mortal Kombat character "Sonya Blaze"] back in the day, doing her thing, with another female legend named Michelle Yeoh:
Having acted in 50 karate movies starting back in 1985, Cynthia was doing 4 to 5 action movies a year, in her prime [she did a ton of them overseas in Hong Kong]. A lot of the action-flick newbies don't know her, but those old-school Martial arts fans who appreciated her raw talent will probably love Expendables 2, because of the raw old-school action in it. And BTW, Jackie Chan has starred in over 100 movies - and he started as a young lad back in 1962, doing dramas rather than action.
**
And now that the history lesson is concluded, we return to the topic at hand -
Along with "Mr. Die Hard Himself" Bruce Willis, Jean-Claude Van Damme [who has starred in over 50 B-rate and C-rate Martial Arts flicks over the years] will be in the EXPENDABLES 2 as the main bad guy; while Chuck Norris [who fought against the Legendary Bruce Lee back in the day, and the only man alive who has probably killed a giant Grizzly Bear with his bare hands] is also in that movie, as a machine-gun-toting good guy.
And there are lots of big guns in this movie, along with flashy karate scenes courtesy of Jet Li and Van Damme, plus tons of phenomenal explosions - everything needed to put a smile on a guy's face.
If you are not excited about this update.... then bless your tender lil' heart, the Twilight Saga is now on DVD, so you don't have to be sad :)

2012 SAN DIEGO COMIC CON IS SLATED FOR THIS WEEK!

Comic Con is also the premier spot that fan boys gather in the thousands to behold and photograph hot chicks in scantily-clad tight superhero cosplay costumes... yes, its true. I'm quite certain that most of the male fans who read this sci fi blog come here just for the pics of hot busty chicks like Power Girl [shown on the left] most of the time :) Shame on you.... LOL.
Anyway, various news-bytes are already starting to emerge about the Comic Con show, including a few features from Marvel and DC Comics....
Along with the presence of Robert Downey Jr and other actors, Iron Man 3 is expected to have some features at the show, along with Captain America 2 - I believe both movies are slated for release next year. The article showing sample pics of Ironman's new villains was posted previously over HERE.
SOME MORE SEXY COSPLAY WALLPAPERS & POSTERS FROM PAST SAN DIEGO COMIC CONS & ANIME EXPOS:

[You may need to click on the word link that says "Read More" to the see the rest of this lengthy article!]
This year at Comic Con, Warner Bros Pictures & DC Comics The Dark Knight Rises [starring Christian Bale as Batman, Anne Hathaway and Catwoman and Tom Hardy as Bane] will probably have a huge presentation along with some exclusive clips for the fans - and that movie is slated to hit theaters on July 20th 2012. Posters from that movie were archived over HERE. And the new Superman movie slated for 2013, titled The Man of Steel, may also have a panel of actors at the show.
DC Comics and WB have been virtually locked in a jealous crazed conundrum ever since Marvel's The Avengers surpassed the 1.5-billion-dollar benchmark earlier this year. And the rumors are already swirling that a Justice League Movie is gaining steam, along with feature films for Wonder Woman, The Flash and possibly a Green Lantern series reboot [yes, a reboot, even though just one sloppy B-grade movie has been created for that franchise at this point]. It's unfortunate that the WB are led by a group of people that can be loosely considered as part of the old guard - I say that because those execs are really NOT paying attention to some current trends. The Amazing Spider-man 2012 movie reboot has already made over 300 million dollars world wide, yet it was targeted at a much younger demographic per its teen and tween appeal linked to the young actors Andrew Garfield [Spiderman] and Emma Stone [Gwen Stacy]. And to the disappointment of many DC Comics fans, Christopher Nolan [the director of the The Dark Knight Rises] has stated earlier this week that he has NO PLANS TO BE PART OF AS JUSTICE LEAGUE MOVIE - and that article is referenced over HERE.
In my opinion, the WB Studios should have looked at the success of the New Spidey and also at the Twilight Saga that they promoted... then they should have targeted the DC Comics cartoon & comic property known as the Teen Titans [or even the Young Justice League]; and then they should have used that as their next superhero team movie, which would be easily independent of "the Dark Knight Rises" and "the Man of Steel". But hey, I'm just thinking aloud. This is my blog and hence its bound to have my incisive thoughts, presented without ambivalence on the topic at hand.

[Wallpapers of the Classic Justice League of America, the New 52 team, and Young Justice are shown above]
On the other hand, the sci fi movie reboot of Total Recall [starring Colin Farrell and slated for release on August 3rd 2012] may make another huge presentation at the Comic Con show - they also had a lot of teaser props at the show last year - and the latest updates with behind-the-scenes clips of that movie are over HERE.
[image error] The one movie that fans probably don't want to see advertised or promoted at Comic Con is.......... G.I.JOE RETALIATION. After the shocking move by Paramount Studios and Hasbro Inc. to shift G.I.JOE 2 till next year [March 29, 2013] and have it replaced by Seth MacFarlane's comedic movie Ted in theaters this year, fanboys and girls alike have been upset about the long drawn-out wait for the sci fi action movie that stars The Rock [Dwayne Johnson] and Channing Tatum [aka Magic Mike]. Honestly, I'm still mad as hell about that shift... and somehow I suspect that next year fans are really not going to support that movie.
Anyway, I'll try and keep you posted on the major announcements that unfold at the San Diego Comic Con, since the G4 Cable Channel will have live coverage from within the San Diego Convention Center this year.

TEAM USA MENS BASKETBALL TEAM ANNOUNCED FOR THE 2012 OLYMPICS!
Earlier tonight via yahoo.news, it was announced that the 12 men for the basketball team have been chosen from amongst the various teams of the NBA to represent the USA in the forthcoming London Olympic games. Here they are, along with a few stats including their heights and weights:
[You may need to click on the word link that says "Read More" to the see the rest of this article!]
1. Kobe Bryant [Age 33, 6 feet 6 inches tall, 205 pounds] - LA LAKERS
2. Lebron James [Age 27, 6 feet 8 inches tall, 250 pounds] - MIAMI HEAT
3. Kevin Durant [Age 23, 6 feet 9 inches tall, 235 pounds] - OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER
4. Russell Westbrook [Age 23, 6 feet 3 inches tall, 187 pounds] - OK CITY THUNDER
5. James Harden [Age 22, 6 feet 5 inches tall, 220 pounds] - OK CITY THUNDER
6. Carmelo Anthony [Age 28, 6 feet 8 inches tall, 230 pounds] - NY KNICKS
7. Tyson Chandler [Age 29, 7 feet 1 inches tall, 240 pounds] - NY KNICKS
8. Blake Griffin [Age 23, 6 feet 10 inches tall, 251 pounds] - LA CLIPPERS
9. Chris Paul [Age 27, 6 feet 0 inches tall, 175 pounds] - LA CLIPPERS
10. Deron Williams [Age 28, 6 feet 3 inches tall, 209 pounds] - UTAH JAZZ
11. Kevin Love [Age 23, 6 feet 10 inches tall, 260 pounds] - MN TIMBERWOLVES
12. Andre Iguodala [Age 26, 6 feet 6 inches tall, 207 pounds] - PA 76ERS
They make quite an impressive team. Note that OKC THUNDER is the only team that supplied three players to the squad. And those three players are damn good at what they do, having made it all the way to the 2012 NBA Finals earlier this year. Lebron James is the only one from the current 2012 NBA Championship team of the MIAMI HEAT [we talked about how he won his first Ring over Here]. Although James Harden's legendary beard make him look like an old timer, Kobe is the oldest one on the Olympic squad; but don't just label him as a grandpa yet. He still does some stuff on the court that only he alone can pull off. He is also the only 5-time NBA Champion on the entire team, having won that golden trophy and the Ring back in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2009 and 2010. The pic below shows Kobe after his 4th trophy, while the other pics show him with Micheal Jordan, the living Legend.
Some have compared Michal and Kobe.... Honestly those two men are from two disparate eras. I believe that Michael [who won 6 NBA Championships], in his prime, was greater than Kobe. Yet Micheal has said in the past that the only player to ever come close to him as far as a skill / talent comparison is Kobe.
The previous two USA Olympic Men's basketball teams won the gold medals back in 2008 and 2004. Kobe and Lebron were on both of those teams. Dwayne Wade & Dwight Howard are not going to be on the 2012 Olympic team due to injuries. I hope the players from rest of the world are ready to deal with Pro-NBA players that do stuff like this just for fun:

NEW TOTAL RECALL 2012 MOVIE TRAILER! [PLUS BEHIND THE SCENES PHOTOS]
I noticed that the Web has been buzzing over the forthcoming remake of the 1990 cult sci fi classic with Arnold Schwarzenegger titled Total Recall, and this year [on August 3, 2012] Colin Farrell is set to reprise that action hero role, and he is going by the familiar screen name of "Doug Quaid". Other actors in the forthcoming movie remake are Kate Beckinsale [Underworld], Jessica Biel [The A-team], Bryan Cranston, John Cho [Flash Forward], and Bill Nighy. Today we'll take a look at wallpapers of Colin, screenshots of the film's police hovercars and futuristic vehicles, and also the robotic police officers in the movie, which almost remind me of the Star Wars Clone Storm troopers.
Perhaps the biggest pull to the new Total Recall 2012 movie is the current rumor about an infamous 3-boobed chick; yes, she has 3 breasts plastered upon her upper torso [see the pic below]. Dating a human / alien woman who has 3 boobs seems to be tied to the twisted fantasy of the movie director Len Wiseman, the guy behind all of the Underworld movies.... and somehow Len has converted his private dream into a big screen reality :)
Check out the latest Total Recall movie trailer over HERE [it will open in a new window] to see a rather censored clip of the busty lady that catches the attention of Colin Farrell.
This blog is full of futuristic vehicle concept designs, and the Total Recall 2012 movie has quite a few ingenious hovercraft vehicles in it. Check out the screenshots & wallpapers below of the sleek sci fi hovercars used in the movie and notice the unique steering wheel, a W-shaped controller:
[You may need to click on the word link that says "Read More" to the see the rest of this article!]
And the robotic / droid police officers do seem to be similar to the Clone Storm Troopers in Star Wars, perhaps because of their glossy armor and their black & white color scheme:
In the movie, Kate Beckinsale [shown on the left] seems to be part of the troop of bad guys that are hunting down Colin Farrell, while Jessica Beil is the love interest of Colin, and she is trying to save him.
Bryan Cranston [from the TV series Breaking Bad] seems to make a cameo as the head of the police or some ruthless organization, sponsoring the manhunt on Colin.
This forthcoming sci fi movie, slated for release on August 3 2012, looks like its going to be action-packed. But there is still no word on whether it will be rated R or PG-13. The rating will make a HUGE difference on what the director will be able to showcase on the big screen... and perhaps the horny fanboys will get to see their perverted fantasy of the lady with 3 boobs....

FEMALE SCI FI / FANTASY CHARACTER CONCEPT DESIGNS
Here is a collection of female sci fi characters with futuristic armor costumes. Some of these costumes have a MECH / MECHA flare interwoven into their fabrics, as the fusion of mortal and machine interfaces are applied to the overall concept design. Amongst the sample character designs are female knights, soldiers, magicians / mystics, elves and warriors. Most of these wallpapers and posters are fantasy designs, per the "Dragon Age / World of Warcraft" themes that can be viewed in the armor costume styles. But most of the character poses selected by the artists are universal and quite sexy. Hopefully these images will help aspiring artists, giving them ideas for their own design processes. The names of the digital artists behind these portraits will be presented below, at the end of the article.

LEBRON JAMES WINS HIS FIRST NBA CHAMPIONSHIP IN JUNE 2012
"Well its about damn time."
Those were the words of Lebron James last night, when he was called to the podium to receive the 2012 NBA championship trophy with his team. He also won the MVP award for the 2012 playoffs season. Love him or hate him, you have to give him his props on being a hard worker. In the final game of the series against the resilient Oklahoma City Thunder, Lebron got the stats of 26 points, 11 rebounds and 13 assists [his first triple-double of the year], as the Miami Heat won the game, with the score of 121 to 106.
In this pic above, you can see Lebron's girlfriend/fiance Savannah Brinson and his two sons - LeBron James Jr., 7 and Bryce Maximus James 5. And you can also see Dewayne Wade and Chris Bosh, the teammates of Lebron.
After listening to the one-on-one interview that Lebron had last night, one thing was clear.... he had been humbled. The brash decision that he made to leave Cleveland, Ohio and head to Miami back in 2010 was like an offensive shot heard around the world, mainly because of how it was done. Yet it appears that Lebron and his crew have learned their lessons, from the very words that came out of their mouths during their post-game interviews. Check out the brief interview clip over HERE - it will open up in a fresh window.
Honestly Lebron is the player that everyone loves to hate [especially if you're from Cleveland].... and the Web hasn't exactly been buzzing with joy on behalf of him and his team.
Q: So Mr. Dsng Artist, will the Heat win 7 championships in the next 7 years?
A: I really don't know. A lot can change in the league in just 1 year. And I hope everyone on the Miami Heat roster stays healthy and comes back to play next season.... so the whole U-S-of-A will have another team to watch and scream "booooo-you-suck!" at. - LOL

FANTASY DRAGONS CONCEPT ART GALLERY!
Over a period of time I've gathered some designs from several respected digital artists, which I'll showcase in this article. These are designs of dragons and mystical winged creatures that inspire me, since DSNG is an original Sci Fi project tagged as Techpunk [explained over Here], yet it also has Fantasy elements intertwined into it. Sometime ago I wrote a separate article titled "The Difference Between Science Fiction and Fantasy" and you can open it in a new window and check it out, HERE.
Staying on topic, there really is no right way or wrong way to draw a dragon, in terms of "fictional accuracy". The depicted mystical creature will always be tied to the innate style of the concept artist, unless you are utilizing a rigidly established reference form, proposed by your boss or employer. Yet there are certain classic features that cause a winged, fanged, serpentine creature to be viewed as a dragon. Take a close look at the dragon wallpaper samples below and you'll notice that they are all different... yet they're still all alike in terms of their generic features.
There are two Mechanical [MECH] dragons shown above, having metallic alloyed frames and heavy cannons & blaster weapons. This is a very ingenious design, showing the fact that the dragon concept is only limited by ones imagination. Some flying dragons are fire-breathing dragons [commonly red in color] and others are ice dragons [as shown below]. Forest dragons are commonly green or brown, and there are those that dwell in caves or mountains. There are even sea dragons that glide beneath the waves in various fictional tales. As depicted in Fantasy movies, cartoons and video games, some dragons are actually domestic creatures, yet not all of the dragons can be tamed.
Special thanks to Jason Chan, Takayama Toshiaki, Genzoman, Kikicianjur, Sandara, Ryan3D, Kekai, Undergrad and Emily Fiegenschuh for their oustanding works!

10 REASONS WHY FANS LOVE OPTIMUS PRIME [METROPLEX POSTERS INCLUDED]

1. Prime has the fearless heart of a lion. He will always lead the charge against the Decepticons even when his Autobot forces are clearly outnumbered and outgunned. Plus he was created with the color scheme that makes him some sort of Robotic-Captain-America, so Westerners seem to automatically love him.
2. Prime Never gives up. Most fanboys will remember his immortal line from one of the first Transformers 2D cartoon movies: "One shall stand and one shall fall." Those are the words of someone who is willing to battle till their last breath.
4. Prime is a father figure. He seldom gets mad at his associates and subservient soldiers, even when they clearly F***-up, big time.
3. Prime is always willing to sacrifice himself for his friends..... Now this point bothers me, because it is clear that Optimus Prime will often have the tendency to "take one in the chest" for the team. He is so benevolent that he will actually stand in the way of incoming APRs and 30mm Heavy Artillery Shells, so that someone like Bumblebee will survive. Thing is, despite how bad-ass Bumblebee is in the Michael Bay movies with Sam-Wit-Whooty or whatever the hell that kid was named, Bumblebee's survival has nothing to do with the team's overall victory. Bumblebee is not a Prime, so he can't take on Megatron. Bumblebee can't open the Matrix of Leadership in order to "light the darkest hour"; and Bumblebee sure as hell can't awaken the giant robot city known as Metroplex, who is a legendary gigantic Autobot who is bigger than Omega Supreme. And Metroplex is programed to awaken and yield to the call of the Last Prime when needed [his wallpapers are below].

6. Prime is a faithful robotic man; he is a one-woman-kinda-guy... thus he is traditional, dependable and "loyal to his wife and kids". Unlike Batman who is a renowned PLAYER, Optimus Prime has only had one official girlfriend / love interest since the onset of the Transformers cartoons. And her name is Elita-One [she is shown on the left]. And since we're on the topic of faithfulness to one woman, I dare say that Prime wanted MEGAN FOX to be in the last TF3 movie, just like I did!!
7. Prime has no time to cry over lost Decepticons. He cares for all Cybertronian robots, but he draws the line at caring for his foes, knowing how despicable they truly are.

9. Optimus Prime never grows old.... and he seemingly never gets drunk on ENERGON Cubes. Look up that word and you'll see from the cartoon history that it is the true Gatorade of all Transformers, and some have literally been known to overdose on the good stuff, just like cold tempting brewskies.
10. Now I really don't care what religion you believe in; my biggest concern about people is their true character and dependability, as a friend / coworker. And having said that, most Christians know that Optimus Prime is one of the few heroes to ever die and later be raised from the dead [both in the movies and the cartoons], in order to save his goddamn robotic people... Now it doesn't get much more Iconic than that!!
The following Transformers Fall of Cybertron Wallpapers are from one of the latest cinematic trailers uploaded at Youtube, showing Optimus Prime battling Megatron. Prime is loosing the fight, thus he is forced to summon Metroplex the Giant Robot City!

The highly anticipated Transformers: Fall of Cybertron video game launches on August 28th 2012, for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
