Get Entangled Under the Mistletoe ~ Holiday Romance Bloghoppity!

Welcome to the Entangled Under the Mistletoe Holiday Hop! I've got some fantastic giveaways for you down below, but first I'd like to share a little bit about my fantasy romance, North of Need (Hearts of the Anemoi #1), a steamy Greek-mythology-inspired story involving a snow god, Christmas magic, and winter fun!

Accolades for North of Need

2012 FF&P PRISM Award Winner for Best Light Paranormal RomanceVoted 2011 Sizzling Read of the Year at Sizzling Hot Book ReviewsChosen as 2011 Best Book of the Year by GraveTellsNominated for seven GraveTells 2011 Readers' Choice Awards

How about a little taste of North of Need?:
Owen sucked in a breath. “You made us snow cones?” His mind reeled. She didn’t realize the significance of what she’d done. Couldn’t have known.
She smiled and nodded. “I made super-duper deluxe chocolate-strawberry snow cones, to be exact.”
“Gimme.” He snatched the cup from her hand. Lighthearted laughter spilled from her pink lips, lighting him up inside. He spooned in a helping of chocolaty snow. “Oh my gods,” he mumbled before he’d even swallowed. The weight of her gaze fell on his mouth, pulling his stare back to her. “You put chocolate on snow.”
“I know, right? It’s fantastic.”
“It’s”—he gobbled another bite—“genius. Inspired.” And beyond the gooey, icy sweetness of the treat—in itself a revelation—the snow infused his system with a nearly electrical charge of energy, vitality. He shuddered. Goosebumps broke out across his skin. Between his legs, he hardened, forcing him to shift to accommodate the tightness. Each scoop hit him like a jolt of B12, caffeine, and Prozac in one. He couldn’t get enough.
And she’d been the one to make him feel this way.
Megan Snow was perfect for him.
She sat watching him, so full of life. Her cup remained untouched.
“Why aren’t you eating?”
She lifted her spoon. “Oh, I was just—”
“Here.” He held out his spoon without thinking about it, but then his need for her to eat from his hands exploded in his chest. Her eyes went wide and her mouth dropped open. Those baby blues flashed up at him, setting off a twisting heat low in his gut. She leaned forward. Wrapped her lips around his spoon.
Aw, hell. His hard-on throbbed. His breathing tripped and his heart took off at a sprint. He scooped another portion into his own mouth, watched her swallow hers. More. Holding out the spoon, he made the offer again and again. Over and over, she accepted. He leaned toward her, and she scooted on her knees closer, and a little closer again, until one knee finally kissed the back of his thigh.
He groaned and continued to feed her, nearly panting now. She held his eyes while she ate, her own breathing audible between them, her chest rising and falling under her coat. In his gut, the snow morphed into raw power, ignited his veins, tingled through his muscles, setting off involuntary twitches here and there that felt like being tickled.
His spoon hit the bottom of the cup, scraped loudly in the confined space of the igloo against the empty plastic.
Megan didn’t miss a beat. A spoonful of her dessert appeared at his lips. “My turn,” she whispered, her voice breathy and low.
Tossing his cup and spoon aside, he devoured what she offered, savored the cold sweetness, drank it down into his belly. She was right there ready with more, then took some for herself. In her haste, red crystals spilled from the spoon down over her chin. A thin line of chocolate edged over her lip.
In a flash, he was on her, powerless to resist any longer. His big hands cupped the back of her neck, tangled in soft curls. Pulled her in. His mouth zeroed in on the flavored snow on her skin, a taste far more heady than the snow alone, all creamy vanilla and soft-scented woman.
He kissed and sucked up her chin to the corner of her mouth, her warm exhalation tingling across his cheek. And then his lips found hers.
The moan she unleashed into his mouth flared in his gut. He dug his fingers into that beautiful mass of silky blonde, held her to him. Urgent, open-mouthed kisses sought her lips, implored her to want him back. When her tongue sneaked forward, flicked his bottom lip, he groaned in triumph.
For a moment, he let her lead. He wanted her to be the one to breach the physical gap between their bodies. To come to him. Finally, the tip of her tongue curled around his, explored his mouth in the most tentative way.
It was all he needed.**Buy at Amazon | B&N

I've Got Goodies for you in the Christmas Wishes #BlogHop

Welcome to my Christmas Wishes Hop Post everyone! It's blog hop mania around here! So be sure to visit the Entangled in Mistletoe Holiday Hop Post that's ALSO running 12/ 7 - 12/14 for more giveaways!

Today, along with my giveaway down below, I'm sharing a humorous holiday scene from my new contemporary romance, One Night with a Hero. Here, Army Special Forces hero Brady Scott is doing a favor for the heroine, Joss:

Brady emerged from a stall in the men’s bathroom. “Don’t say a word.”
Bobby, Victor, and Danny all burst out laughing.
“Yes, Sergeant Santa,” Victor chortled.
Brady glared and turned toward the mirror. Aw, hell. The Santa suit had arrived, and Brady’d had a momentary lapse in cognitive function wherein he decided it would make the most sense if he donned the costume and saved Joss the stress of finding a volunteer. But now… “I’m the least convincing Santa there ever was,” he said.
Bobby tried not to laugh but failed. “Put this on next,” he said, handing him a big furry blob. The beard. Elastic bands looped around his ears. The mustache was attached and filled with wire that could be shaped over the lip. Next came the wig. Brady settled it over his head, which was easy since his hair was so short. Finally, Bobby handed him the cap and a pair of wire-rimmed glasses filled with fake lenses.
“Uh, we have a problem,” Brady said. His dark eyebrows now stuck out like a pair of inchwormscrawling across his forehead.
Bobby held up a tube. “We have a solution.” He uncapped it and leaned in.
“What in the hell?” Brady grumbled, glaring at Victor and Danny as they stretched to watch Bobby work.
“There. Look.”
Brady turned back to the mirror. “Huh.” Whatever the stick was had turned his eyebrows white. In a not too fake way. “You have a Santa belly for me in that bag of tricks?”
Something pillow-like whacked him in the gut. “Asshole,” he said, chuckling.
Danny elbowed Victor. “I don’t think that’s approved vocabulary for Santa.”
“Keep it up. Wait ’til you see what’s in your stocking this year.”
“That’s the spirit,” Victor said.
Bobby helped stuff and organize his belly and buckle the wide black belt. “There.”
Not bad. Not bad at all. He turned to the guys. “How do I look?”
Danny’s expression cracked first. “Like someone who is thoroughly pussy-whipped.” Bobby most tried to resist, but then he joined the others, who were laughing so hard they could barely remain upright.
Ignoring the asswipes behind him, he fished his wallet and a few other necessities from his uniform pants and slipped them inside the pocket at his hip.
Luckily the coat and all the padding would hide the lump. “Whatever. You three be dickheads all you want. I make this shit look good. I’m outta here.”
“Wait,” Bobby choked. “Don’t forget your bag. These are the favors for the kids.”
“Fine.”
“Maybe you should…practice your ho, ho, ho. You know, to…make sure it’s authentic,” Victor said, nearly wheezing.
Brady threw the bag over his shoulder. “Ho, ho, fuck you.” He stalked out of the bathroom, and could still hear their laughter at the far end of the hall.

Jason Aaron Baca on Being a Romance Cover Model

Welcome Romance Cover ModelJason Aaron Bacato the Blog!

How did you get into doing cover modeling? Do you do other modeling, too?

Well back in 1997 I was discovered while being a body double in a movie called "I Know What You Did Last Summer." The photographer brought me aside while on location to do a few snap shots. I did the mainstream fashion and fitness modeling all the way until 2008. Then from there, I found out about cover modeling for romance novels. Since then, that's all I do.

Jason & Jennifer Love Hewitt, '97 How many covers have you been on so far? Do you have a favorite(s)?
113 covers with 5-6 more pending. I have many favorite covers. Too many to narrow it down to one though. These graphic artists really know how to pretty me up!
What's it like seeing yourself on book covers, especially when they change your appearance (hair, tattoos, etc.)?
I love it! I get to see myself in all sorts of costumes and looks. They completely change my look sometimes...other times, they leave me natural or throw in the long hair. And yes, I don't have any tattoos, so sometimes they edit one in.
What do you most enjoy about cover modeling?
Seeing that end result! Seeing that finished cover with me on there makes me realize what all that hard working out was for!
Do you have any funny cover modeling stories?
Yes, Too many! I've had some good ones, most recently was when they had me acting cool sitting Indian-style, looking up. Well they had lighting up above me that came loose and fell straight for me. I got out of the way so fast! They'd have had the best frightened look yet if they snapped the shot just then... hahaha
Where are your images available for authors and publishers to view?
They are available at http://jasonaaronbaca.deviantart.com. The instructions on how to purchase them are in the journal. The stock photos are in the gallery—approximately 1,400 to choose from currently. [Thank you to Jason for agreeing to share some of his images here!]
Do you have any upcoming events where authors and readers can meet you?
We shall see about the upcoming events. It is very possible that I will attend a couple in 2013. I am a very shy, reserved person so if I did go, not sure how long I'd stay in the big crowds.
How fun was this? Thanks for coming on the blog and answering my questions, Jason! Now, everyone, HERE is your chance to ask a cover model those questions you're always been dying to ask! Ready, set, go!

And thanks for reading!

Joss is getting way under Brady's skin... #SixSunday #OneNightwithaHero

Happy Sunday everyone! This week I've got six more from my contemporary romance, One Night with a Hero. Last week, Joss took care of Brady when he was sick. This week, her kindness is getting way under his skin...

Maybe what she had done wouldn’t be a big deal to someone used to that kind of treatment, but he wasn’t. Not since his mom died of a stroke when he was seventeen, anyway. Afterward, he was always the one providing the care. For all intents and purposes, he raised Alyssa after their mother passed. Not that he resented it one bit, but their father hadn’t left him any choice—his wife’s death destroyed him, and he lost his mind and every bit of kindness he’d once possessed in bottle after bottle of vodka.

Now, Brady was struggling to keep Joss’s compassion from crawling deep under his skin and making him yearn for more.

Welcome Guest Author Alice Clayton #Wallbanger

Welcome Guest AuthorAlice Claytonto the Blog
on her Release Day!!!
Welcome, Alice!  Please share a little about yourself and what you write.
Thank you so much for having me! I love to write comedic erotica, or funny smut.
LOL! Sounds great! So, tell us a little about your new release.
Wallbanger is my newest novel, and I am so pleased to finally be able to share this book with everyone. Set in one of my all time favorite cities, San Francisco, Wallbanger is the story of Caroline Reynolds and Simon Parker. When Caroline moves into a new apartment, she is startled out of bed not by an earthquake, but by some very loud “banging” from next door. We know it’s Simon over there by the woman that is calling out his name. Repeatedly. Ahem. With walls this thin, the tension is gonna be thick!
I can’t help but smile reading that description! Which character is your favorite and why?
I think in this book my favorite character is Jillian, who is Caroline’s boss and mentor. She is based on a hybrid of two of my mentors from my former professional career. I was lucky enough to work with some amazing women, two of whom were as funny as they were smart and they influence me still to this day. Jillian is a hard worker, but she is open and loving and warm, with a very smart ass attitude, a dream boss for me.
That’s awesome! As the author, what surprised you about this story?
How much fun I had spending my time with these characters.
*grins* Will there be any sequels or other books in the same series?
No, Wallbangerstands alone. Like the cheese.
*snort* What was the hardest thing for you about writing this story?
Editing. I removed a character and then put the character back in at literally the 11th hour, and that was tough. But it worked out for the best.
New Redhead covers!!! Buy What are you working on right now?
I am finishing up Book 3 in The Redhead Series, which I have been working on for 107 years. And I have started working on something brand new: cooking and New York City and restaurants and lots and lots of chemistry.
Ooh, sounds promising! What happened to the first book you ever wrote?
You’ve read it! The Unidentified Redhead!
What do you find easiest and hardest to write?
Smexy times easy, angsty times not so much. Aren't they gorgeous? Buy
Have you incorporated actual events or people from your own life into your books?
Oh goodness yes, as I mentioned before Jillian is based on real people, the character of Holly in The Redhead Series is based on my best friend Keili.
Is there a theme or message that runs through your work?
Sex and Funny. I have to have both.
Works for me! What would your readers be surprised to learn about you?
That I am so very pretty.
*gigglesnort* Of all the characters you’ve ever written, who is your favorite and why?
Right now it’s Simon, he’s pretty great.
Okay, now, just for fun:
Milk chocolate or dark chocolate? Milk.
Salty or sweet? Salty.
Bed or kitchen table? Kitchen FLOOR
Beach or mountains? Mountains
Buy on Amazon! Give or receive? Same time BOTH
Caroline Reynolds has a fantastic new apartment in San Francisco, a KitchenAid mixer, and no O (and we’re not talking Oprah here, folks). She has a flourishing design career, an office overlooking the bay, a killer zucchini bread recipe, and no O. She has Clive (the best cat ever), great friends, a great rack, and no O.

Adding insult to O-less, since her move, she has an oversexed neighbor with the loudest late-night wallbanging she’s ever heard. Each moan, spank, and–was that a meow?–punctuates the fact that not only is she losing sleep, she still has, yep, you guessed it, no O.

Enter Simon Parker. (No, really, Simon, please enter.) When the wallbanging threatens to literally bounce her out of bed, Caroline, clad in sexual frustration and a pink baby-doll nightie, confronts her heard-but-never-seen neighbor. Their late-night hallway encounter has, well, mixed results. Ahem. With walls this thin, the tension’s gonna be thick…

In her third novel, Alice Clayton returns to dish her trademark mix of silly and steamy. Banter, barbs, and strutting pussycats, plus the sexiest apple pie ever made, are dunked in a hot tub and set against the gorgeous San Francisco skyline in this hot and hilarious tale of exasperation at first sight.
Excerpt:
I shook my head at the sight of Simon in a black T-shirt and weathered jeans. He was in his stocking feet once again, and I marveled at how at ease he seemed in my kitchen.
I walked around the kitchen counter and picked up my rolling pin. “You know, I won’t think twice about whacking you over the head with this if you continue this borderline sexual harassment,” I warned, running my hand up and down the rolling pin suggestively.
“I’m gonna have to ask you not to do that if you’re serious about me peeling apples here,” he said, eyes widening.
“I never joke about pie, Simon.” I sprinkled a little more flour on the marble.
He was silent while he watched me pat out the pie crust, breathing through his mouth. “So, what are you gonna do with that?” he asked, his voice low.
“With this?” I asked, leaning over the board, and perhaps arching my back a little as I did.
“Mmm-hmm,” he replied.
“I’m gonna roll this crust out. See, like this?” I teased again, thrusting the pin back and forth over the dough, making sure I arched my back each time and the forward action pushed my girls together.
“Oh my,” he whispered, and I grinned naughtily at him.
“You gonna be okay over there, big guy? This is just the top crust, I still need to work on my bottom,” I said over my shoulder.
His hands clutched at the edge of the counter. “Apples. Apples. Gonna peel me some apples,” he told himself and turned away toward the colander filled with apples in the sink.
“Let me just get you the peeler,” I said, coming up behind him and pressing myself against him as I curled around his side to grab the vegetable peeler from the other sink. This was fun.
“Peeling apples, just peeling apples. Didn’t feel your boobs. No, no, not me,” he chanted as I openly laughed at him.
“Here, peel this,” I said, taking pity on him and removing myself from his cooking space. I might have sniffed his T-shirt.
“Did you just sniff me?” he asked, keeping himself turned away.
“I might have,” I admitted, going back to my rolling pin, which I squeezed mightily.
“I thought so.”
“Hey, if you can sniff, I can sniff,” I shot back, taking out my sexual frustration on a defenseless Pâte Brisée.
“Only fair. So how do I rate?”
“Good. Very good, actually. Downy?”
“Bounce. I lost my Downy ball,” he confessed.
I laughed, and we continued to roll and peel.

Brady gets a little TLC... #OneNightwithaHero #SixSunday

Happy Sunday everyone! I've got six from my new contemporary romance, One Night with a Hero. Here, a very sick Brady with a scary high fever gets a little TLC from Joss:

Brady moaned as he sucked on the Popsicle. “This is the best thing I’ve ever eaten.”

“Glad you like it, I slaved all day.”

He swallowed a frozen chunk and said, “When we’re done, wanna have sex?”

He waggled his eyebrows, and Joss burst out laughing. “You’re such an ass.”

Before we get to the giveaway, enjoy this short excerpt from my new contemporary romance, One Night with a Hero. A conversation you might overhear if you brave the stores today?:
They returned to their fitting rooms, and Joss looked at her reflection. Taking a deep breath, she mentally prepared for the Inquisition. “So, speaking of dates…” She slipped out of her dress and arranged it on the hanger.

“Oh, thank God. I seriously wasn’t going to be able to last much longer. What happened last night?”

Good question. She dressed, collected her things and stepped out into the hall, all the while replaying Brady’s departure in her brain. She and Christina had the whole fitting room to themselves, so no harm in spilling here. “Well, the abbreviated version is that I met a guy and hooked up with him last night.”

Christina’s door flew open. “Define ‘hooked up.’”

Joss opened her mouth to reply—

“You had sex!”

“Shh. Why don’t you just announce it to the whole store, woman? ‘Attention, Macy’s shoppers, Joss Daniels had sex last night.’ Oh, and this morning.”

Christina gasped and her eyes went wide. “Good sex?”

Joss should’ve felt insulted at her amazement, but seeing as she was still kinda amazed herself, she didn’t. Memories full of Brady’s incredible intensity and hot, hard body rushed before her mind’s eye. “Mm-hmm. Great sex.”

“Holy crap. I have, like, fifty-two questions now,” Christina said, stuffing her feet into her flats. “We need food for this conversation. Lunch?”

Food and spilling good dirt had always gone together for them. “Sure.”

Fifteen minutes later, they were settled in a booth at a festive American chain restaurant off the mall food court, one shopping bag next to Joss and five next to Christina.

“All right,” her friend said. “Spill. And don’t leave out any of the good parts.”

Welcome Debut Author Julieanne Reeves! #RazingKayne

Welcome Guest AuthorJulieanne Reeveson the Release Day of her Debut Novel!
Happy release day to Julieanne Reeves, who's here to celebrate her debut novel Razing Kayne with us, along with an awesome giveaway! Take it away, Julieanne!

It’s here! Launch day for RAZING KAYNE. I’m thrilled to be joining the world of published authors.
I’ve realized that publishing my book is a lot like the first day I left my children in daycare. I bawled for hours having to leave them that day. They, however, barely spared a wave goodbye; they were too excited to meet and play with their new friends.
I wrote Razing Kayne about two years ago. At the time I was a 30-something year old adult who’d left the rat race to become been a full-time stay-at-home foster mom. This meant that I usually had four kids in the house at any given time. Between special education issues, counseling and doctors' appointments, and life in general, I stayed busy. But, oh, how rewarding – and heartbreaking – it was. I’d adopted my two children from foster care as a single mother, and it was, and still is, my greatest accomplishment. Publishing my books is probably a distant second.
For years prior to being a “mom,” I’d worked for in law enforcement as a police/fire/911 dispatcher who’d been trained and certified in hostage negotiation and suicide intervention. Working in a small agency allowed me the opportunity to work closely with the Special Response Team, Narcotics Task Force officers and Property and Person’s detectives. Heck, I’d even applied and been accepted to test for the police academy. I passed the testing though never went through the academy. Experiences I never would have had working in a big agency.
Looking at all my experience – personal and professional – and thinking through the cases I’d been involved with, and remembering the ones I’d heard about, I realized I had a treasure trove of inspiration. So, I did what my high school creative writing teacher drilled into me; I wrote what I knew and did it from the heart. Thus, RAZING KAYNE was born.
It would take two more years and lots of encouragement from my online friends before I finally got up the nerve to publish it. I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to this family I’d created.
Now that moment is here, and I’m a bundle of emotions. Saying goodbye is never easy even in the land of fiction. It’s a little easier knowing I haven’t seen the last of Kayne and Jessica and their wonderful children. In Razing Kayne we met some awesome supporting heroes: Officer Nick Astenbeck, Detectives Trace St.Moritz and Rafe Chatham, Dr. Mark Oberly, and Fire-medic Joe Sutton. They will be getting their own stories over the next couple years. Payson, Arizona is a small town in real life and in fiction so I know we’ll be seeing the whole gang around from time to time. Is it the same? No. But just like I had to let my children go that first day of daycare, it’s time to let RAZING KAYNE go too.
I hope you enjoy RAZING KAYNE as much as I enjoyed writing it and I hope you come back to share in the small town life of Payson, Arizona as each of the other heroes gets their own Happily Ever Afters.
For two years, State Trooper Kayne Dobrescu has wanted only one thing: to understand why his wife inexplicably killed their children and then herself. Memories haunt his days and lay siege to his nights, leaving him questioning his reasons for living.

Jessica Hallstatt became a window and single mother the night her firefighter husband died in a fiery explosion at an accident scene. While her husband may have died a hero, he left Jessica with deep emotional scars that haven’t begun to heal.

When Kayne accepted a transfer to the mountain town of Payson, Arizona, he never expected to meet anyone like Jessica. From the moment he pulled her over for speeding, he was drawn in by her whiskey-colored eyes and sassy dimple. He knows she and her children are a forever type package, and he’s vowed never to give anyone the power to destroy him again. Yet fate has other ideas, throwing Kayne and Jessica together in a fight against an unknown enemy to save the life of a child—and hopefully one another.
Giveaway!
Leave a comment with your email address below and be entered to win an e-copy of Razing Kayne. One lucky winner – worldwide – will be randomly drawn on or about Friday, November 23rd, 2012. Winner will be announced in the comments so please be sure to check back.

Brady resists what he most needs... #SixSunday #OneNightwithaHero

Happy Sunday everyone! Today I've got six more from my new contemporary romance, One Night with a Hero! This is the moment immediately after Brady and Joss have sex for the second time:
Running on pure instinct now, Brady stepped back and helped her down. Her knees went soft when she hit the floor, so he scooped her into his arms and made his way through the house and upstairs to where her bathroom should be. She was warm and pliant in his arms and the sensation of her nuzzling into the crook of his neck shouldn’t have felt as good as it did.

The monster of his ancient anger stalked back and forth at the gates of his mind. But he was ignoring that motherfucker for all he was worth.

Because, since he never allowed himself this—any of this, really—he had no idea how fucking good it could all feel, right down to her arms holding him.
