Here's Where to Stream All of Michael Madsen's Awesome Quentin Tarantino Movies
Hollywood legend and the tough guy we loved to see on screen, Michael Madsen, has sadly passed away at the age of 67. According to various sources, he died of a heart attack at his home in Malibu. He will be missed by his surviving family and colleagues, and also by the countless moviegoers who have been watching him on screen since he appeared with Matthew Broderick in the 1983 classic, WarGames.
But, despite also showing up as Halle Berry's boss in the James Bond movie Die Another Die, or playing opposite a killer whale in Free Willy 2, it's almost certainly Madsen's collaborations with director Quentin Tarantino that will live on forever.
Here's where you can watch all of Madsen's awesome Tarantino flicks from 1992 to 2019.
Reservoir Dogs (1992)As Vic Vega, there really is no Reservoir Dogs without Michael Madsen. It was the first feature-length Tarantino movie ever, and set the standard for an entirely new subgenre of movies.
You can stream Reservoir Dogs on Paramount+.Kill Bill: Vol. 1 and Kill Bill: Vol. 2 (2003, 2004)In the epic two-part film, Kill Bill, Madsen plays the pivotal character of Budd, who is the brother of the titular Bill. If you're going to do a Tarantino binge, you can do no better than these two movies back-to-back.
Kill Bill: Vol. 1 and Kill Bill: Vol. 2 are both streaming on AMC+.The Hateful Eight (2015)Originally a sequel to Django Unchained, the 2015 flick The Hateful Eight is very much its own thing. As "Grouch" Douglass AKA "the Cow Puncher," Madsen gives an unforgettable performance in one of Tarantino's most underrated and controversial movies.
The Hateful Eight is streaming on Netflix.Once Upon a Time...in Hollywood (2019)The most recent Tarantino film was not Madsen's last movie ever, but it was close to it. Madsen's role in the film is fairly small, playing a character named Sheriff Hackett in the meta-fictional TV series Bounty Law, in which Leonardo DiCaprio's Rick Dalton stars.
That said, Once Upon a Time...in Hollywood is a fantastic film and is still a testament to Madsen's talent.
Once Upon a Time...in Hollywood is available for rental on YouTube, Amazon, and iTunes. It is also streamingVacationing Family Makes Grim Discovery in Famed National Park
An Illinois family's first big vacation was interrupted when they came across human remains in Rocky Mountain National Park. Kristin Chavez and her husband were travelling with their 12-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter, driving 15 hours to see Colorado. The family was near Trail Ridge Road, hiking toward the Alpine Visitor Center, when their son wandered off toward a pile of rocks.
“My son states, ‘I think I found a dead body,’” Chavez said. “We kind of laughed it off … there’s no way.”
Park rangers said the snow had melted only two weeks prior to the discovery on June 18, which Chavez originally thought was a prop.
“I look at it, I instantly knew it was real. Once I started looking at it, there were articles of clothing with it," she said.
Rangers shut down the mountain and cleared the area.
“The confusion is, like, why was it out in the open? And do they do any foot patrol?” Chavez said. "It’s difficult as a parent to know that your child has seen something that they can never unsee."
Officials with Rocky Mountain National Park said no missing person reports were filed over the winter. The process of confirming the person's identity and contacting relatives could take weeks, or even months. Law enforcement officers and the Larimer County Coroner’s Office are leading the investigation.
The Chavez family said they try to focus on bringing answers to another family, but the discovery had lasting effects.
“What are the chances four people from Illinois find something like that?” she said. “We feel that there’s a reason for it.”
U.S. Issues 'Do Not Travel' Warning For New Country on July 3
For the first time this July, the U.S. Department of State has issued its first "Do Not Travel" warning.
The U.S. Department of State is tasked with analyzing the risks and necessary precautions for Americans traveling to foreign destinations. If there are any concerns regarding a given country, the government will hand out an advisory ranging from Level 1-4.
If a country receives a Level 4 advisory, that means it's unsafe for Americans to travel there.
Well, the U.S. Department of State placed a Level 4 travel advisory on Lebanon on July 3 due to "crime, terrorism, civil unrest, kidnapping, unexploded landmines, and the risk of armed conflict."
"The Department of State considers the threat to U.S. government personnel in Beirut serious enough to require them to live and work under strict security. The internal security policies of the U.S. Embassy may be adjusted at any time and without advance notice," the advisory for Lebanon states.
"Since October 8, 2023, cross-border exchanges of fire have occurred between Hizballah and Israel. In some instances, targets have been well north of the border region. A cessation of hostilities between Israel and Lebanon went into effect on November 27, and implementation is ongoing; however, there are continued instances of military activity in some areas of Lebanon. The Lebanese government cannot guarantee the safety of U.S. citizens against sudden outbreaks of violence and armed conflict. Family, neighborhood, or sectarian disputes can escalate quickly and can lead to gunfire or other violence with no warning."
If U.S. citizens travel to Lebanon, they're advised to appoint a family member to serve as their point of contact, keep travel documents up to date and easily accessible, avoid demonstrations and crowds, and monitor local media for breaking events.
The full list of travel advisories from the U.S. Department of State can be seen here.
