Young Adult & New Adult—Should something be in-between?
Should there be UPPER YA or UYA.
I've spent time wondering if it could be classified like this:
Children. Middle Grade. Tweens/Teens. Young Adult. New Adult.
(MG) (T) for Teen (YA/U-YA) (NA)

TEENS UPPER YA NEW ADULT
(12-16) (17UP) (18 & Over)

A few things I wanna answer for ya :)
Hey guys! A few of you have asked me some really great questions and as always, I am more than glad to attempt to answer some of them for ya :)
First: The Nerd/Glasses thing.
In the original blurb (I have just updated it) it read: Kayleigh is a complete nerd. She's got the glasses to prove it. She just knows that a guy like Kaleb would never really want to be with a girl like her.
Yeah, this would be a GREAT example of one of my ditzy, not so brilliant, blurbalicious moments.#FAIL
LOL. I wear glasses myself. Growing up, I was categorized as a nerd because of that, y'know, stereotyped. I felt the way Kayleigh feels in the book—that no guy, especially Kaleb, will look at her because she's not the pretty/hot girl, she's the smart, bookish, nerdy girl who chooses books over boys, that sort of thing. Teenagers can have a way of seeing things in groups/categories at times. Not all teenagers, but some teenagers, sometimes define each other based on the surface: Oh, she wears glasses she MUST be a nerd. Or he's on the football team, he's a jock so that means he's an asshat with a low IQ.
A huge part of growing up is seeing past those stereotypes and learning that the world and the people around you cannot be defined simply from these things. But as a teenager, that's how it is, and you're left with all of these insecurities about how other people see you, and even worse, how you see yourself because of that.
I didn't realize that when I wrote the blurb from each of the characters POVs that it would sound that way. So I do apologize. Because hey! Glasses are awesome, doesn't mean you're nerdy, and if you are "nerdy" that's awesome too! Nothing wrong with any of that.
Mostly, each blurb line is how the character feels about his/her self or how they think they're being perceived by the other one.
In Kaleb's blurb, it reads something about Kayleigh's life being perfect.
When you read the book you will notice that her life isn't so perfect after all.
But—from his perspective, in relation to his life, it is.
<spoiler>She makes great grades, doesn't party, didn't do drugs, her mom has a career, etc...while his family is broken, his mom doesn't have a job, he has a stepfather who really isn't a stepfather, a sister who's on drugs</spoiler>
So because of that, he thinks she will never really see him, either.
They both have the idea in their head that the other one looks at them a certain way.
I hope that answers the questions :)

Tossing in my 2 cents about Book Reviews
I will just say that first, I have no clue what's really going on, I'm over here in my own little world having fun working on bookish stuff—I've just read some rather interesting things the way I always do because I'm nosy like that.
But here's what's up.
Reviews are super important. All of them, not just the "good" ones. All of them.
I can't say that enough.
I know that some

“Okay, but you can't avoid me forever. We're going to talk about this eventually.”
“Why are you so concerned with my life anyway?”
