I was going to sleep one more night in that creepy old dark house. #TeaserTuesday

“It's
okay, Heath. You can hold my hand.” She entwined her fingers with
mine and they stayed that way until we got to her house.
She
didn't let go of my hand when she said, “So...are you really going
to leave?”
I
paused. I really needed to, but...I didn't want to. Not yet. I didn't
know why, but I had the strangest feeling. I might like this girl.
Everything inside of my gut told me I'd be stupid not to stay, but my
mind screamed what are you doing?! You can't be with her, man. You're
not right for her. Your whole life is messed up. But here I was,
holding her hand. And she was holding mine. And this was the most
secure and stable I'd felt in years. I just felt...free. Not the
floaty I'm on drugs kind of free, but the someone's looking at the
real me kind of free—the kind where the other person knows who you
are, but it doesn't change anything.
And
she knew I was no one. How could she not?
“One
more day,” I said. I wanted to see her smile again. “I'll stay
for one more day. That's it though. Tomorrow night, I go.”
She
smiled as if I'd told her I was staying all summer. That's how wide
and bright her grin was. And I had no idea why the thought of me
staying here made her so happy. Just yesterday, she'd told me to get
out and disappear.
Just
yesterday I was going to.
Today,
I wasn't so sure.
Neither
was she.
Something
had sparked and I didn't know what.
But
whatever it was held power over me, because I was going to sleep one
more night in that creepy old dark house.
And
that said a lot.

I was chased by a hearse tonight. #TeaserTuesday

“I
was chased by a hearse tonight, Catherine. It ran me off the highway,
and chased me through the field. I'm so glad to have made it here
safe.”
“What?!”
she says. “You were chased. By a hearse. That ran you off the
road?”
I
look up at her through strands of my dark hair and glare. I'm not too
pleased. “No,” I tell her sarcastically. “I just made all of
this up to get your attention.”
“You
mean that hearse out there, at Rue Morgue? The broken one that hasn't
ran in years? That's the one that chased you?”
Now
I'm just upset that she doesn't believe me. “Look, I know you think
I'm crazy, or hallucinating or that it's the drugs. But I'm serious.
Maybe if you hadn't come around me telling all of those scary
stories—”
“—You're
blaming me?” she quirks an eyebrow. “You're the one who was all
like “drag me all over the place, I'm so there.” She laughs.
“Well
you're the paranormal genius, so it's up to you to save me. If you
don't and I die or something, I will haunt you forever for doing a
shitty job.”
“Don't
worry,” she says, smiling. “I won't let anything happen to you.”
Her hand rests on my leg. I wonder if she even notices it.
“I'm
counting on it.”

A Post on my Book Releases (With Gifs)
Okay. So it's September, and some of you are probably curious as to which books of mine are going to be releasing, and trust me, I have a ton. My book characters have battled it out with me ALL THE WAY for attention. They were demanding their stories to be told. The Struggle is/was REAL. I've been writing all year, and I've started/stopped so many books, it's crazy.
If you're wondering what's going to release this year/early next year, without further ado, here are the lucky winners. (The rest of my characters are playing Battle Royale in my head)
Heath and Catherine have officially won over everyone else, and fought for their spot over Marcus and Ellie from the Pretty in Black series. (Yeah, I know, right?) Heath and Catherine would seriously go hard if they were in The Hunger Games. I just had to give in. They wouldn't leave me alone.

ETERNALLY #1— October 21, 2014 is the Official Release date. If it's pushed back, it won't be pushed back any further than November 2, 2014.
I don't want to promise anything that I'm not sure if I can deliver, so as of this date, as far as I know, nothing else will release this year. However, if it did (and it's probably not) we would get a December release on my NA Contemporary. Speaking of which—

NEXT—we have a NEW ADULT CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE called OUR BEAUTIFUL MISTAKE. I'm SUPER EXCITED about this one!! Take a look! (Since I don't do cover reveals, here is this one)
You can click the cover to add it to your reading list now :)
A PEOPLE COVER! A PEOPLE COVER! can you believe this madness?!
Set for April 2015 for now.
OKAY—now for my Pretty in Black people, who are probably upset with me (I promise, it's not my fault!) I cannot give an official release date for EVERMORE, but don't push the panic button, because IT IS COMING! Here's how that's going to work. As soon as this Ah-Mazing (if I do say so myself) Finale is in its final form, I'm hitting the publishing button. That could be in December, it could be next weekend, it could be in January. Who Knows? I really, really don't. If you sign up for my mailing list though, as soon as it's ready, I will definitely notify you. Because we've got this:

AND THIS:

AND THIS:

AND THIS:

Impale me....

AND THEN, OF COURSE, THERE IS THIS:

I'm writing the last parts of it now. Writing battle scenes is hard, okay? :) I've been working on Evermore now for almost three years. I have a very specific vision for this book, and it just takes time for it to all come together beautifully.
After those three books are published, there's like a lot more coming out right after, but I'm gonna stop right here, because I think this is a good stopping place.
Eternally Teaser #1
Here is the first official Teaser from the upcoming book: Eternally—Wasteland.
Teasers will appear every Tuesday until Release date, which is scheduled for Oct 21.
“Soda
pop is bad for your teeth and your bones,” she says as she scans
the Dr. Pepper. Then she rings up the batteries and the Beef Jerky
and drops both into the brown paper bag. “It'll be $7.84, miss.”
What?
I'm a dude. Can't she tell by my voice? It was deep and
masculine. Was she trying to be funny? Was she doing it
deliberately to make me mad? Get a reaction?
“I'm
a guy.” I reach into my back pocket for my wallet. I pull
out a ten and pass it over to her. She snatches it out of my hand.
“Well
you look like a girl to me.” She punches in the register, slides
the ten under the money slot, and counts out my change, laying it on
the counter.
“I
take much offense to that,” I say, scooping up my change. I gather
it and smash it down into my pocket. She then thrusts a receipt in my
face.
“You're
wearing eyeliner and you need a haircut.”
“I
don't take unsolicited advice. Just do your job, Lady.” I grab my
bag and the receipt, then head to the door.
“Hey!”
she calls. “Do you wanna donate a dollar to the unfortunate kids?”
“I
am an unfortunate kid.” I push the door open and bolt.

The Raveonettes—The Best Band in the World @TheRaveonettes

They are seriously the BEST BAND IN THE WHOLE WORLD. They are it for me. My fave, fave, fave. I really, really wanna see them play live in Chicago this year, but I already know I'm probably not gonna be able to because I'm broker than broke. But One day, though. One.Day.

If you haven't heard them, immediately stop everything you're currently doing and give them a listen.
They have a new 2014 album coming out some time this year. I cannot wait. Anytime I am experiencing a literary block and cannot write, one of their songs usually helps me figure things out in some shape, form, or fashion. So this 2014 album is pretty darn important to me because I have two contemporaries that are giving me hell, and I know that once I hear their music, everything will make sense again. It's like it's always right on time, too.
Let me give you the rundown. Okay, so back in 2011, when I decided I would write a book, I seriously had no clue what I was going to even write.
And then...One song changed all of that for me. This song right here. The song from their Raven in the Grave album, which became Marcus's and Ellie's song.
Here's the Official story: If you're already familiar with it, then skip down below, because I'm going to continue telling you how in love (obsessed) with this band I am.
Pretty in Black is the first book in the Gothic Romance series. The story behind how the series came to be is just as haunting as the story itself. The idea came to me late one night in March 2011 while I was hanging out in an old cemetery with some friends, on a Ghost Hunt.
Out of the corner of my eye, I caught sight of an apparition. Sitting on top of a grave, were two lovers-- a guy and a girl. I watched their interactions with one another and immediately, I wanted to know two things: What were they doing in this cemetery so late at night and Why did their embrace look so tragic?
They were leaned against the stone, in their own little world. And to this day, I still do not know if they were real or not, but they became the characters of this story. I remember the ride home clearly. I was intrigued. I sat in the backseat, writing notes to myself on my phone about what I'd just witnessed. Two days later, I began writing the story. It just hit me. And after hearing My Time's Upby The Raveonettes--a song off their album Raven in the Grave, the rest of the story just fell into place.
Marcus Marble began as a regular dead guy. I never really liked vampires, but a daydream I had back in high school led me to the idea of creating the Evermore. Vampires who can come out in the sunlight, have no desire to drink blood, and are warm to the touch.
Edgar Allan Poe also played a major role in the creation of the dark worlds of Nevermore and The Land of Naught.
Pretty in Black is just the beginning. Enjoy! --Rae Hachton

Walter Rose Wagner—The gargoyle from Black Satin? Yep, he's named after Sune Rose Wagner from the Raveonettes.
The first three names of the Pretty in Black books are named after an album, a song, and another album by The Raveonettes. Pretty in Black, Black Satin, and Raven in the Grave, are all titles which came from The Raveonettes. After trying to come up with a good title, I was glancing through music on my i-pod and I was like, huh, well, these sorta match. So I just went with it.
But that's not all.
I have a really bad ass book in the works (will probably release in 2016) called OBSERVATOR. Yep, it's named after their previous album, and the entire album itself is basically the soundtrack to the entire plot. Oh, and Sharin, one of the characters appearing in the novel, is named after Sharin Foo from The Raveonettes.

Look how Knarly they are. You should go follow them and everything.
Still not all.
I have a Pretty in Black spin-off series called EXPERIMENT IN BLACK which is named after another one of their songs.
Their songs aren't in any way related to the actual plot of my novels, like...they don't match or anything. It's just something that keeps happening. Because I'm in love with them.
Oh, and incidentally:
1. They are Eleanor's favorite band
2. They play at her prom. (Well, I think their music plays at her high school dance and her prom, but in the movie, I would actually want them to play live, because that would be super kewl.)
Here's the first song by them I ever heard. This is the song that made me fall in LOVE, and then like the fangirl I am, I had to own like every song they ever made.
One more thing: There is this other book, A New Adult Contemporary that I'm working on, that is named after one of their songs. The book's going to be super awesome, but I can't give you the name of it just yet though. So this is a TBA.
But on that note, I'm going to stop now, because I just realized I have a TON of books I need to write.
Molly is Awesome. You should Subscribe to her YouTube Channel
I met Molly on Twitter. She is super awesome and super hilarious. She is a voracious reader, an independent filmmaker/screenwriter, and she is a writer. Way kewlness, right? Well, after she discovered I wrote a vampire series, she bought the books and she reviews the first one on her Youtube channel. :D
BUT, I am also embedding the beginning to one of her hilarious webseries videos here. Watch it, guys. OMG, she is so funny. I HIGHLY recommend the entire webseries "A Guide To."

Twilight: A Breaking Dawn FanFic—Because it should've been Bella + Jake

Okay guys, so I broke down and decided to emerge myself into the world of Twilight fan-fiction after being requested to write a Bella + Jake Breaking Dawn fan-fic by one of my Teen Readers. We got to talking and as two twi-obsessed fans do, we went on and on about how Bella should have ended up with Jacob because yeah, c'mon TEAMJACOB.

I still like Edward too, and over the years, I've gone back and forth, but the more I read/watch Twilight, I can't help but be swayed into thinking Bella should be with Jake. It's lines like:
Everything is complete now that you are here, Jake....
that really, really irritate me. BELLA! if you think that, then WHY didn't you CHOOSE him?!!!
I'm sorry...but if you're with Edward and you still need Jake to feel complete??? umm....Just no. A part of me really wants to take over this world, especially the last book, Breaking Dawn. I could totally rewrite it in like ten days or less, tops. Not even kidding. But unfortunately, I cannot. But I can write fan-fiction to satisfy my own personal visions for SMs characters.
I mean, Edward is kewl and all. He glitters, which is a neat magic trick, but he just didn't do it for me overall. I'm almost 100% a Jacob Black fan.
Look at this
And this...

AND THIS!

So without further ado, here is THIS, my version of Breaking Dawn in 2.5k words.

I WAS IRREVOCABLY in love with him.
I was certain of it, though I loved Edward more. I hadn't seen Jacob in days, and I wondered if he would come to my wedding.
My wedding. I was marrying Edward Cullen. He had asked me and I said yes. I wanted him. But why was it my mind always went back to Jacob?
Why, for moments at a time, did I picture myself with him instead? I needed Jacob around; I couldn't picture my life without him in it-it wouldn't be complete.
I fought for Edward, but Jacob had always fought for me. Anything I needed, he was there. Even when I broke his heart by agreeing to marry Edward...
If Jacob didn't show I'd be crushed.
The wedding was absolutely gorgeous. Edward was beautiful, but as I prepared to walk down the aisle toward my future, toward my ever-after, I got a glimpse of my entire life. With Jacob, not with Edward.
And I didn't even feel guilty. I found myself smiling. My eyes panned into the shadows of the woods and my heart began beating erratically. Jake. He had returned. He shrugged and stood there at the edge, eying me. The fact that he could still look at me like that with smiling eyes, though I was marrying someone else, endeared me to him. Made me wonder if I was making a mistake by marrying Edward.
I had to talk to him. The wedding could wait five more minutes. I darted into the woods.
"Jake, you're back." I threw my arms around him and he hugged me, lifting me up off my feet, spinning me around. I loved the way he smelled-woodsy. I loved his strong warm arms around me and the way he squeezed me like he never wanted to let go.
"Have you said "I do" yet?"
"Not yet."
"Looks like I made it back in time then." He sat me to my feet and I was dizzy.
"Wait, are you here to boycott my wedding?" I laughed, thinking he was only making a Jacob joke. He made them all the time. But this time, his eyes were serious.
"Why else would I come?"
"To support me?"
"I'm sorry, Bella, but I don't agree with this. Not when I know I'm the one you should be marrying. It's wrong. And what's even worse is that you know it, too and won't admit it."
"Jacob--I"
"No. Save it, Bella. If he's the one you want you better get back to him then. I'm the only one stupid enough to wait forever for you. But a promise is a promise." He turned and walked away from me.
"Jacob!" Why did I feel so sad?
He paused and pivoted back around. "Why did you want me here? Do you get some sort of sick thrill by torturing me? Every time you come near me, every part of me lights up. I wouldn't've come here tonight had I not thought there was some spark of hope for us."
"You want me to leave my wedding and go away with you?"
"No, Bella. I want you to wake up and realize I'm the right choice for you." He swallowed. "If you choose him, you know you can't have me too. Close your eyes and think for just one minute. I know you feel for me the way I do for you. When something in your life goes wrong, who is it you want at your side?"
The answer was easy. It was Jacob. It had always been Jacob I had ran to. When Edward left me, Jacob was there to make things whole again. He risked his life to help us fight against the newborn army when Victoria tried to kill me and Edward. He loved me unconditionally.
"I came here tonight to inform you that there is no choice."
My eyes shot open. "What?"
"I imprinted on you, Bella. You can no longer fight this. I am in love with you, and I know you love me, too. Don't marry him, Bella. Choose me. Right here, right now."
I had been gone for too long and Edward noticed. He emerged into the woods.
"Look who it is." The sarcasm in Jacob's voice was lethal. "Guess he got impatient. He wants to seal the deal as soon as possible before you have time to see what he's really doing to you."
Edward stood by my side now, possessively. He whispered, "The guests are waiting, my bride."
"Jake, you're my best friend..."
"Ask yourself why he can't read your mind, Bella."
I glanced at Edward. His body went rigid and his jaw twitched. His face was stone, his eyes ablaze on Jake's.
"Go ahead. Ask him." Jake returned his venomous look, daring Edward to move.
"I will rip your head off!" Edward threatened.
"What are you so worried about? That Bella might choose me instead of you?"
"She has already made her choice," Edward gritted through his teeth.
Jacob stepped forward, moving closer to Edward. "Has she? I don't think it's much of a choice when one person in the equation is being manipulated into making that choice."
"Edward," I said. "What is he talking about?"
Edward's fists tightened.
"Edward!" I tried to break him from his reverie. "Tell me. What is Jacob talking about?"
"You," Edward spoke to Jacob, "need to leave now." His words were acerbic, menacing.
"No, Jacob don't listen to him. You don't have to go anywhere."
"He is a vampire, Bella. It's the only reason you feel any attraction to him. He has you under a spell."
"What do you mean, he has me under a spell?"
"The only way he could make you like him was by tricking you with his vampire traits: everything about him is magnetizing to you only because he is a predator. He draws you in with his voice and his scent. Otherwise you would never choose him. He can't read your mind because you belong to someone else, Bella. You belong with me."
"Jacob, I'm in my wedding dress, this is my and Edward's wedding..."
"Bella, for seven nights I thought about not doing this, but I have waited two years for you. I've dreamed about you every night, thought about you everyday. If I do nothing, I won't be able to live with that."
"She doesn't want you." Edward's eyes hadn't moved from Jacob's. He was frozen in place.
"Stop making decisions for her. She wants me as much as she wants you and you know she does. If you had never returned to Forks, this would be our day."
"Both of you. Stop!"
Edward ignored my request. "You imprinted on her?" His golden eyes were now on fire.
"You listened to our conversation?"I was mad at him for doing that. "How could you?"
"I'm protecting you, Bella," Edward said.
Jacob answered him, fearlessly.
"It happened when you weren't around, back while you were brooding. You are no good for her. All you ever do is make her sad and give her ultimatums. I'm sure that if she does marry you, it'll only be for one reason and one reason only. But when she chooses me, I'll give her everything she wants when she wants it. I could have made Bella mine a long time ago, had I not respected the fact that she believes she has feelings for you. Trust me, it wasn't because I was doing you any favors."
"Let's go back to the wedding, Bella." Edward gripped my arm and tugged me along. I shrugged, prying my eyes away from Jake, and dutifully followed Edward back for the wedding.
When I was only a few feet away, Jacob yelled out to me. "Kiss me, Bella."
I whipped my head around in his direction. His command had been loud enough that it echoed through the woods for everyone to hear. My and Edward's wedding had just been officially crashed. I could only picture the many heads twisting around to see if they could figure out what was going on.
"You asked me once and now I'm asking you. Kiss me and you'll know."
And in that moment, all I wanted was for Edward to let me go.
EDWARD HAD NEVER been able to read my mind, but when he saw me glance back, he let my arm go. Maybe that'd been enough to let him know where I wanted to be.
"Go to him, Bella," he said. The burning gold in his eyes paled to a light brown.
Had I heard him correctly?
"What?" I looked up at him.
"I want for you whatever makes you happiest," Edward said, but I heard the sadness in his velvet voice, and it only made this choice that much harder.
"Edward..."
"You love him, Bella," he said. "I can see that you do."
"I love you, too."
"I know," he brought my hand to his cold lips and kissed it delicately. "But maybe it's not enough for forever, Bella. You fell in love with Jacob while I was away. Your love him is stronger than your love for me or you wouldn't keep looking back the way you do and wondering "what if."
I was crying now. How could it be this way?
Edward cupped my face and placed a gentle kiss on my forehead. "Shh," he whispered. "Don't cry. You will always be my Bella."
That only made me cry more.
"If only I hadn't left you..."
His leaving me had been the absolute worst. My heart had been so broken, and Jacob was the one who'd helped me through it all.
"This is goodbye, my love. I do not want to deprive you of anything, especially not your life. Had I known you loved him and you were happy, I would have never returned to Forks. I would have kept my promise to you. You would have never seen me again. Be happy, Bella. And don't worry about me. I'll be fine. But I'll check up on you. Alice will let me know how you are. I suspect since the two of you are almost like sisters, you'll stay in contact." He smiled. "You've been such a large part of my life, I do not think that's ever going away. I'll always want you."
My eyes were so clouded with tears I could no longer see him anymore.
He backed slowly away from me.
Before he walked away, he mumbled something so low and faint, yet so recognizable I'd know it anywhere. It was the passage from Wuthering Heights.
After he had said it, he sauntered off, heading back to the wedding that would never be.
And I knew that if that had been Jacob, I would have been chasing after him. But when Edward left this time, I stood there feeling suddenly lighter. He was letting me go. He didn't want me to suffer any more.
As soon as he was gone, I ran. I ran all the way to Jacob and crashed into him and threw my arms around his neck, tears streaming from my face, and kissed him recklessly. Urgently. I was fighting for air in the process. His hands were moving everywhere on me, and he pulled me closer, kissing me harder.
When we finally found the strength to pull away, I saw that Jacob's eyes were glossy.
"See? This is how it's suppose to be, Bella. I could have never given up on this."
"What now?" I asked.
"We're going home."
Where was home? Back at La Push. Back at Charlie's?
It didn't matter. All that mattered was that I was with Jake. He lifted me off my feet and carried me the entire way. While he did, I nuzzled against him and we talked.
"Edward told me that if you ever chose me, he would back off."
He had?
"When? When did he say this?"
"That night in the tent after you had fallen asleep."
Then why had Edward seemed so aggressive earlier?
"I was just waiting for you to make that choice," Jake said. "And I think Edward was, too."
He hadn't wanted to let me go. I knew it hadn't been easy. A part of me would always love him for setting me free. He'd given up his urge to be selfish, and because of that, I was now in the arms of the guy I would love for always.
In Jacob's arms I felt warm, happy, and at peace. How in the world could I have given this up for a second? I knew then that home was wherever Jake was. Jake was my home.

Free Preview of Eternally Now Available + A Delicate Reminder

For my readers who've been curious about one of my upcoming releases, a free preview of Eternally is now available HERE
A preview of Evermore is also coming soon!!!
Eternally should appear in a few weeks on B&N for Pre-Order as well as Kobo, in paperback (B&N) and e-format. (Nook & Kobo). Evermore will appear the same way, too :)
As soon as those versions of the book go live, I will let you know!
_____Most people don't need the delicate reminder, however, I'm assuming some do. I highly doubt it's any of my readers though! :D So you can skip this. _____________
Now, for the delicate reminder: As I realize, not all readers are aware of the existence of "Free Previews" for upcoming books. Publishers are able to set up Pre-Orders for upcoming titles as well as decide whether or not they would like to release a free preview of those upcoming titles. Some do, some don't. It varies. Some publishers prefer Kindle Pre-Orders instead. It's usually a decision made by the marketing department.
My publisher, Teen Pulse, opted for the Pre-Order on the paperback edition and a preview copy of the book, or an AEC (Advanced Excerpt Copy).
Downloading a free preview of any book is absolutely optional, and all of these are distinctly labeled as such, to prevent confusion. Half of the time, unless two books of the same title (the physical copy + e-copy) are linked together, you'd have to do a search with the key words "Preview" or "Sampler" to even find such results.
An Example, asides from my own book of course, would be one from Dangerous Creatures—which I'm totally ordering, btw.
Thank You! or as Sadie Saxton likes to say:
You're Welcome.

Character Profile: Heath from Eternally

This Photograph is how Heath appears when first meeting Catherine, before she cuts his hair.
FULL NAME: Heath Mengeras
CURRENTLY LISTENING TO: (Don't Fear) The Reaper by HIM.
AGE: 19
WANT TO MEET HEATH RIGHT NOW?!
CLICK HERE!Eternally #1 is scheduled to release October 30, 2014.
MORE ABOUT HEATH:
His Introduction is totally in the face and so not sugar coated. If you've read the blurb, then you know that he is a drug addict. Drug of choice: Heroin. Moving about from place to place, city to city, is how he ends up meeting Catherine.
I'm not going to tell you how you should see him or what you should think about him, that's left up to you. (I LOVE him and there's nothing anyone can say to change that) but if you give him a chance, I can guarantee it will be worth it in the end.
'CONT: (From Right Side)
As we move closer to the official release date, I will post more about this series and Catherine and Heath.
No, my books aren't "mainstream" as you've probably already realized. I write for me and for my readers who get it; I write for that one person out there who has been waiting to find a book which speaks to them. I have to be true to who I am. And I think it's pretty clear. I love the creepy, the gruesome and grotesque, the grunge and gritty, and all of the things that only I can write about. And I love love stories.
This is my first time on this blog doing a character profile, but Heath is one of my favorite characters which I've written and he deserves a great mention. All though I'm pretty sure I'm gonna do throw back character profile posts for Marcus Marble and Johnny Heart, this post for Heath is pretty special because he is special and I think it's going to be super easy for people to get him all wrong in the beginning, because well....his beginning is rough. He will strike you the wrong way. But thanks to Catherine he will become a new person. Gah! I LOVE this book series, probably as much as I love Pretty in Black, which is saying a LOT.
I am super excited about The Eternally Trilogy for several reasons!
My first being Heath! He's one of my favorite male characters which I've written. His name in its Old English roots literally means Wasteland, which incidentally is the title of the first book. Eternally—Wasteland.
I named him and Catherine after my favorite characters from one of my favorite books: Wuthering Heights.
Eternally is the first book (and series) in which I have an ALL MALE POV! That's right: the book series is written in his voice. I prefer writing from the male POV, mostly because it's all my male characters who have the strongest voice. Sometimes, though, I will end up doing dual POV when necessary, but since Heath had the strongest voice and the most interesting story to tell, I figured he'd be a better candidate to tell the story.
Eternally is a HORROR ROMANCE and not a Gothic Romance or a Paranormal Romance. I know, yes, I said it had Zombies and Reapers, and maybe even small elements of necromancy or witchcraft. But let me explain!
For me, Paranormal Romance means (by majority) a girl meets a boy whom she later realizes is (INSERT CREATURE THING HERE) This is not the case with Eternally. BOTH characters are HUMAN. It begins almost like a contemporary novel.
I'm not going Gothic Romance on this one either, because the atmosphere is more grunge and gritty, and doesn't lend itself to that whole fog enshrouded landscape or characters locked away in an attic as much as Pretty in Black and Frankie's Monster did. However, you can say that Heath is "GOTH" if you want to.
I'm not going to say how the zombies or the reapers become a part of the story, because that would be an absolute spoiler! But just know that it does happen. Like all of my books, yes. This is a LOVE story.
Second Favorite Aspect of novel: IT takes place in 1998!!! (Which is one of my favorite past times!) I love and miss the '90s. But anyway, I'm rambling. Moving on.
