Denise on the De-stress Your Business podcast - You don't need to be perfect
There is no metamorphosis!
You don't need to transform into a perfect vision of yourself to make more money.
You don't need to be more organized.
You don't have to geet your sh*t together.
You are what a wealthy entrepreneur looks like.
I make a lot of money, but I'm still imperfect, disorganized and I make a lot of mistakes.
The more you can learn to accept who you are, the more you can start to design your business around that, and making money will start becoming easier.
Be kinder to yourself - it's time to let go of the perfectionist money block.
I had such a good conversation with Alexis about this on the De-Stress Your Business podcast.

You don't need to be perfect to make money.

How I used Sacred Money Archetypes® to TRIPLE my sales
Hey there!
I’d love for you to join me as I take you behind the scenes of my latest launch.
We recently launched a new Sacred Money Archetypes® business coaching course, and it was my most fun, creative and complex launch ever.
In this episode of the Chill & Prosper podcast, I share some of the things that went well, some of the things that didn't, and a massive lesson in letting go.
The first time I launched this course, I made the big mistake of just launching it as myself, a Ruler. I didn't think about how to promote the course to people with different personalities who were looking for different things out of the course. I didn’t take the time to explain to the other Money Archetypes why they should join and what was in it for them.
So this time, with the updated course, I wanted to step into the shoes, literally, of each archetype, complete with costumes, styled sets and most important personalized sales messages.
In creating this launch, I really pushed myself outside of my comfort zone and stepped into the shoes of each of the 8 Money Archetypes, which was so much fun!
From head to toe, and surrounded by carefully selected sets and decor, I set out to make this course more fun, and tangible for you, so that you will feel completely at home when you watch the video for your archetype.
I have wanted to redo this course for a few years now, and I’m so happy I did things MY way.
I doubled down on my creative strengths and used my knowledge of the Sacred Money Archetypes to design and customize every aspect of the launch for maximum impact for each individual personality.
The results saw the conversion rate TRIPLE and the new course generate over $1m in revenue. I breakdown the launch results in my debrief article here.
Have a listen, and get some inspiration and encouragement that you can (and should!) do things your way as well!
In this episode, you’ll learn;
Why I had to fight my team to get this project off the ground
Which of the archetypes took me most outside my comfort zone
How the scenery and wardrobe changes truly changed how I felt inside and how I delivered each script
The thought and strategy behind the session for YOUR archetype
Ideas for how you can use the Archetypes to uplevel your next launch

And Romantics are all about creating ease and luxury.
Mark has the same two first archetypes, and his third is Celebrity, but our Archetypes show up in very different ways.
I love my third, my Romantic, because it often saves me from being too much of a workaholic.

SMA is a Game Changer!
"It's really helped me to understand my money patterns and also been great for my relationship. My husband and I are on the same wavelength now thanks to understanding our archetypes. Highly recommended! Thanks Denise for sharing this with us!"
SARAH SIENKIEWICZ
Strategy and Alignment Coach, UK
Archetype: Maverick
I am really leaning into my Connector abilities
"Learning my archetype, and then learning my husband’s, was so enlightening for our relationship - it explained so much. We’ve been married for 30 years and it’s helped us so much to understand this and see where we were coming from. In my business, I am really leaning into my Connector abilities as a channel and as a guide. Having that awareness has been really enlightening."
JODIE HOWARD
Cosmic ReWilding Coach, USA
Archetype: Connector
I’m a better coach and I have a better relationship with money
"It's helped me embrace all of me, all the different parts of me, because up until discovering SMA, I was thinking more along the lines of being a Libra, but not really resonating with horoscopes because they’re so one-dimensional. Understanding my connector traits, and the other underlying ones, I feel like I’ve got the whole package. It’s helped me grow as a person, improve my relationship with my family."

Did you know that by understanding your personality and leveraging your strengths, you CAN get rid of money blocks and limiting habits?
Here’s how to press reset and create a whole fresh money story, starting today
Within you is a unique “money code” or money personality. This is also known as your Sacred Money Archetypes®, a brilliant framework created by my money mentor, Kendall Summerhawk.
This money personality assessment changed my life! It’s the best personality test I’ve found about uncovering money beliefs, and I loved it so much that I became certified in teaching it!

I’m a Ruler, Maverick, and Romantic. My strengths are in my work-ethic, creativity and self-love, and acceptance. The challenges I face are; thinking I always need to work harder, an attraction to risk-taking, and not being that interested in the finer details of my bank balance!
My husband, Mark, is a Ruler, Maverick, and Celebrity, so we’re very similar in lots of ways. But our Archetypes show up in different ways, especially in how we work and what we spend our money on.
Using this method, we’ve uncovered how we trigger each other’s money blocks and how to work to each other's strengths…
Hallelujah! We no longer have arguments about financial stuff.
This work is seriously one of the best insights into your money personality and can help you figure out your strengths and weaknesses when it comes to finances.

"Being a Celebrity was no great surprise. I felt like finally, I get to own it and have really beautiful things. I work in show business. Knowing my archetype validated my experience on planet earth, as a performer."
Kerri Layton, Music Agency Director, UK
Let’s take a look at each of the personality types.
The 8 different Money Archetypes - Which one are you?
You might be an Accumulator, Alchemist, Celebrity, Connector, Maverick, Nurturer, Romantic, or Ruler.
You usually have three dominant Sacred Money Archetypes® or money personalities that combine to shape your relationship with money.
These are the key strengths and weaknesses of each type.
The Accumulator
As an Accumulator, you are conscientious, trustworthy, and disciplined. You find it easy to save, but you may suffer from fear and guilt around investing.
You need to learn to say yes to opportunities because opportunities create wealth.
The Alchemist
As an Alchemist, you’re idealistic, transformational, and creative. You’re great at creating ideas, but you may find yourself relying on others for financial support.
You need to learn to transform ideas into financial success.
The Celebrity
As a Celebrity, you are magnetic, confident, and radiant. You always stand out in a crowd, but you may struggle with compulsive spending.
You need to work on accumulating wealth while being admired and valued in the world.
The Connector
As a Connector, you are trusting, innocent and resilient. You are great at creating valuable relationships, but you may not feel very empowered about money. Tackling your finances may feel overwhelming.
The more comfortable you get with your finances, the more you empower yourself and others.
The Maverick
As a Maverick, you are clever, flamboyant, and charismatic. You’re great at taking risks and paying attention to the metrics – you know your numbers. But you’re prone to gambling with your financial security.
You need to learn to balance financial risk with money security.
The Nurturer
The Nurturer is all about giving, devotion and reliability. You always give amazing value, but you struggle with the need to rescue others.
You need to learn to create clear money boundaries.
The Romantic
Your sacred strengths as a Romantic are luxury, abundance, and seeking pleasure. One of your gifts is the belief that there will always be more. You might find yourself ignoring or avoiding anything to do with money.
Your challenge is to create financial security while living life to the full.
The Ruler
As a Ruler, you are courageous, visionary, and determined. You’re great at creating an empire where everyone thrives, but you struggle with the feeling that there’s never enough money.
Your lesson is to learn how to achieve leadership and prosperity with grace and ease.
I love this system, and trust me; you’re going to become obsessed with the Archetypes.

"Finding out about my Connector money personality was such a revelation. I could suddenly see my old, unhealthy money patterns and access blocks I just couldn’t see before. Within 24 hours I found myself spontaneously clearing out a huge amount of scarcity consciousness that was keeping me playing smaller than I needed to be. This is exactly the work I was looking for to help me take my business to the next level."
Sam Nolan-Smith, Visibility Coach, Australia (Connector)
Is your Money personality sabotaging you?
So your Sacred Money Archetypes® are a set of unique profiles that show how people earn and spend money. It governs how you feel about your financial life.
Worthwhile getting a handle on yours, right?!
One of the key reasons to become aware of your unique Money Personality is to be able to release yourself from the subconscious ways in which you’re limiting your potential.
Once you know your Archetype, you can start to leverage and profit from your money strengths, so business feels in flow and abundant.
Plus, there’s a whole host of ways in which you might be holding yourself back, keeping yourself in lack and struggle.
Remember, mine are Ruler, Maverick, and Romantic. My sabotages are a tendency to overwork, take risks, and ignore details about money.
Recognize any of these sabotaging beliefs?
Let’s look at how to free yourself for good.
As an Accumulator, you may confuse being safe with being happy. You hold yourself back by not reaching for something more meaningful.
As an Alchemist, you may be subconsciously limiting yourself by not believing you deserve to have money. You may be operating from a place of thinking that money and wealth are evil.
The Connector is so trusting of others that you may find that you lack discernment. One of the ways in which you hold yourself back is by not allowing yourself to have control of your own money.
One of the ways in which the Celebrity self-sabotages is by losing sight of what matters in life. You might be caught in a cycle when nothing ever feels enough because you’re constantly seeking the recognition of the next high.
The Maverick can self-sabotage by taking ages to get serious about responsibilities. You might feel carefree and lack the desire to look at your savings.
As a Nurturer, you receive your feeling of purpose from being needed by others. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with caring for others if you’re serving yourself first. Otherwise, burnout and resentment are the results.
As a Romantic, you’ve probably tied your worth to your self-image. You need to become aware that you don’t need more things to live a happy life.
As a Ruler, you might limit yourself by not monitoring your why. You’re holding yourself back by not focusing on what you’re doing and for whom.
Find out more about how my money blocks show up as a result of my money personality here.

"I will say it really gives you an insight. It gives you an insight into yourself already. You personally, and the people around you. And you start to realize that, oh my gosh, like I can't move forward if I don't have this knowledge."
Patience Modevi - Mindset Coach, UK (Nurturer)

Practical tips for launching a podcast. My secrets from 1 million downloads
After reaching 100 episodes of Chill & Prosper and over a million downloads, I'm taking you behind the scenes of my podcasting journey to reveal my secrets.
So many entrepreneurs have told me they feel intimidated by the demands of launching a podcast. 🙋♀️
Unsure you can keep up with the constant demands to create content?
Overwhelmed by the tech and how to keep it simple and low-cost?
Or don't know if a podcast would help your business?
And so many people have beliefs about imposter syndrome and not being smart enough, ready, or cool sounding enough to do podcasts.
If you've been feeling this, this article is for you.
I've been on hundreds of other people's podcasts but procrastinated launching my own for so long.
I've faced the same struggles as many aspiring entrepreneurs: lack of consistency, ideas, and tech problems.
But I've got some simple tips for overcoming these obstacles and creating successful content consistently.
You can listen to my podcast episode on this topic - Lessons from 100 episodes here:
// <![CDATA[
// ]]>
Here are my tips for launching a podcast and creating new content:
1. Decide if podcasting is the right content creation method for you.
Deciding if podcasting is the correct content creation method for you depends on a few things, such as how much time you have available and what type of content you want to create.
Podcasting is a great way to reach a large audience with long-form content, as it is convenient for listeners to access your content on the go. It also allows you to reach a broader, global audience. However, podcasting can be time-consuming, as you will need to research and prepare topics, record and edit episodes, and promote the podcast.
And you'll need some key things to create a professional-sounding podcast. For example, you may need a dedicated recording space, a high-quality microphone and other audio equipment, editing software, or an editing service to produce episodes and transcribe the audio.
If you have the resources and the time available to commit to podcasting, it can be a great way to engage with your audience, as listeners can interact with you through comments and reviews.
Consider if talking, whether off-the-cuff or following a script, is your best form of content creation - perhaps you're more suited to writing or being on YouTube or TikTok videos.
"Do what works for you. Do what's easy for you. Make do with what resources you have now, and just do it."
If you find that podcasting is the right content creation method for you, it is crucial to be consistent with production and promotion, as this will help to grow your audience and keep them engaged.
"If you wait until you feel like it, you wait until you're feeling like you have something to say or you're feeling really positive and extroverted, then it can be hard sometimes to get that consistency."
2. Set a consistent schedule for podcasting.
My top tip for staying consistent with your podcast (and any content creation) is batching.
I book a studio for a whole day, sometimes two, and batch 10-20 episodes at a time.
This means I only need to think about podcast topics and recording a few times a year. Once recorded, my team handles the transcribing, posting, emailing, and promoting.
I would hate the weekly pressure of creating a podcast episode - I would procrastinate, leave it to the last minute and ultimately stop.
By batching, I get a few months of podcasts in the can and can then forget about it.
Batching also means you'll have multiple episodes ready and can focus on creating content for future episodes when you have the bandwidth.
It's also important to consider the length of your podcast and the format. Most people preferred my podcast episodes to be around 25-30 minutes and decided to stick with that format.
I usually do two 10-15 minute content sections divided by some testimonials from my clients.
When you're recording, it's helpful to have a timer to track how long you've been talking and take regular breaks.
3. Choose a topic for each episode
When choosing a topic, it is essential to consider what type of content you would like to produce and how often you plan to record.
If you plan to do interviews, consider who you will have on your podcast and how to coordinate the time zones.
If you are recording solo, you can consider topics you have already written about or use questions from your audience.
"Always have some content for people to know, like, and trust you."
Look back at your archives for topics that may be relevant to your current audience.
Additionally, consider what type of content your audience would be most interested in hearing and create topics around that - you can ask for topic ideas.
Lastly, it's important to consider the length of your episode. For example, do you want to cover one topic per episode? More topics in shorter episodes or fewer topics in longer episodes?
Keep an ongoing Google doc of topic ideas and suggestions ready for your next recording day.
Once you have chosen a topic, you can develop a script or bullet points to guide the conversation.
4. Recording your podcast.
Depending on the resources you have available and your podcast's goals, you can use a few different recording methods.
For example, you can record your podcast with a microphone and headphones or record it as a video and use the audio. You can hire a studio or find a quiet place at home and invest in a good microphone.
Make sure you have a comfortable seat, the temperature is correct, and you have props you might need to make recording more comfortable, like throat spray and lozenges.
Also, consider what ads or testimonials you need to record or ask your audience for. For example, I chose not to have paid ads in my podcast, and instead, I use the "ad space" to promote my own courses and books.
I ask my members to submit audio testimonials via SpeakPipe.com to be inserted into each episode by my podcast editor. Plus, I occasionally record ads to promote specific launches or events I'm involved with.
"It is hard to have that consistency. It is hard to get over the tech problems. It is hard to come up with new things to talk about all the time. But you can do it"
If podcasting is not for you, that's okay. You really don't have to do everything.
Nobody can stop you. But nobody can make you either. So you're allowed to do this even if you're not ready.
Go forth and do it and get some episodes under your belt!
Is a podcast in your future? What aha's can you take from my podcast strategy about your content creation process?
xx Denise
THE most common money block: You have to work really hard to make money
Have you got this one?
“You have to work really hard to make money.”
Ouch… it stings, but part of you believes that, right?
This money block is probably the most common, and it’s super-sneaky because hard work and busyness are culturally acceptable and, in some cases, admired and encouraged.
It can help you create great success for a while, but the working ‘hard’ part becomes self‑fulfilling.
Where does this block come from and why is it so common?
Well, there’s less physical work required to run a business than ever before. I don’t mean to sound all old-fashioned, but it was way harder when I started my business than it is now.
There were no online payment systems, making a website was either crazy-expensive or incredibly complicated, and there was hardly any automation software.
It was the dark ages! (I’m kinda joking.)
The fact that we now have all these relatively cheap and easy systems can bring up weird feelings because the money we can earn by using them isn’t always commensurate with the amount of physical labor involved.
Ease goes against an established rule in our society: an honest day’s work yields an honest day’s pay.
Add the internet to the mix and, suddenly, making money becomes even less onerous. You could sell an e-book to someone in China while you’re sleeping.
You could have someone in Sydney pay for a consultation with you (and book it on your calendar) without any back-and-forth emails.
Or you could have a piece of your artwork printed onto a phone case and shipped to Ohio without being physically involved at all! So many businesses had to pivot during the pandemic, and the tools are better than ever.
What a world we live in! And it’s only going to get easier.
But the downside is that all this ease and flow can bring up feelings of guilt for some people. It’s as if it doesn’t count if we don’t work really hard for it.
Why? Well, we may have been told things like this from a very young age
'Money doesn’t grow on trees.’
‘You don’t get something for nothing.’
‘Another day, another dollar.
Our parents might have worked long hours for their money (unlike us) or performed hard physical labor (instead of just sitting in front of a computer).
It can feel unfair to earn money without trying hard – as if we’re doing something terrible or disrespecting our elders.
So we sabotage ourselves by procrastinating, or we paddle upstream and make everything harder than it needs to be.
We want to prove that we’ve earned our money through struggle and hard work, even though that’s no longer necessary. Chillpreneurship feels lazy.
Of course, I’m not saying entrepreneurship is easy. You still have to get over your resistance, fear, and procrastination. But there’s nothing you can’t figure out on the internet.
Most entrepreneurs aren’t suffering from a lack of ‘how to’: they just overcomplicate business and become too paralyzed to take action.
What could you do with your extra energy and resources if things weren’t hard?
It’s your time and you’re ready for the next step.
xx Denise
P.S. This is an excerpt from my book Chill and Prosper and the chapter “Mindset blocks that will derail your business success”, if you’ve got this money block or think your relationship with money could be getting in the way of you growing your business, grab a paperback, kindle or audio version here.
P.P.S. This ‘Work Hard” block is so common because it’s often inherited. Our parents and upbringing have a dramatic effect on our money mindset, boundaries and spending habits.
In Money Bootcamp we work on Generational Money Blocks - the blocks you’ve inherited from previous generations and experiences that are impacting your relationship with money. If you’d like my support to look closer at this and clear your blocks, come and join us in Bootcamp.

The pros and cons of being the breadwinner in your family
The pros and cons of being the breadwinner in your family

Hey there,
Now I know not everyone has kids, and not everyone's in a relationship, but I promise you'll all get something out of today's podcast episode.
I'm talking about the pros and cons of being the breadwinner of your family, and you know I'm going, to be honest about how this works in my own family.
I share about the pressure, the power, and the mistakes I've made along the way and provide a glimpse into how Mark and I navigated the expectations and pressures that come with providing for our family.
From speaking to thousands of people about this, I know there's a lot of energy and fear around this idea of being the primary income earner.
The fears we have about being a breadwinner are often similar to those of growing or making more money or doing something different and going past our perceived limitations.
It is important to acknowledge these fears to start moving past them, so let's dive in.
In this episode, you will learn:
The pros and cons of being the breadwinner of a family
The fears holding us back from growing our income or earning more than our partners
The real benefits of having a business and making your own money
How to get your family onboard with your money goals
An affirmation that’s changed my life

How do you set firm boundaries and advocate for yourself?
For me, I know that my time and energy is best spent working in my business and creating the abundance for my family and community.
I believe it is so important to own who you are and what you are good at. Anything else is wasting your time and energy.
But it’s taken time for me to develop the self-belief to set boundaries and advocate for what I want (and need).
It all starts with being in your own corner, giving yourself permission and doing the inner work.
Then you can start small and incrementally make the changes so you can focus on the things you enjoy and are good at.

Ask Me Anything: Kids, Money and Business Upgrades
Ask Me Anything: Kids, Money & Business Upgrades
// <![CDATA[
// ]]>
You know I’m an oversharer – but I just LOVE answering your questions about my work and money.
In my latest podcast episode, I answer listener questions about everything!
The first one is how to talk to young kids about money. We all have money mindset issues from our past. Now it’s time to change how we talk about money with the children in our lives.
At home I make sure to keep things positive or neutral around money. My kids don't hear: Money doesn't grow on trees, Do you think we’re made of money? or Money’s dirty. The stuff I heard every day growing up!
I tell them that money doesn't make you a good or a bad person. Money's just money. Some people do good things with money, others not.
The next question is What upgrades will work wonders for business growth?
Start with the things that annoy you. Upgrade things that make you feel poor, inconvenienced and angry. Those things take up bandwidth. You know when you feel like you’ve got 50 million tabs open?
So, begin with everything that causes friction and eliminate them one at a time.
Finally, a question about procrastination and how to deal with a perceived lack of time.
Read The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks. Work in your zone of genius. Outsource as much of everything else as possible. Use this affirmation: There's more than enough time to do everything I need to do. I have spaciousness.
Create space in your calendar, hire people so you have more time, and automate!
In this episode, you will learn:
How to choose the perfect business model for your personality
Hacks for people with ADHD to eliminate stress
How I’ve tackled fear of visibility
My #1 secret for separating work and life
The exact way to take control of your time
