'Choosing' to be gay
When I started writing Luke's Surprise I ran into a major problem with the premise. The basic concept was that Luke and Mark - both werewolves - meet and instantly recognise the mating bond between one another even though neither man is gay. Despite that fact they decide to try to make things work between one another.
Now for anyone out there reading that, myself included it sounds as though both men are choosing to be gay and anyone with a lick of intelligence know one does not choose to...

Cover for Kelan's Pursuit.
I received my new cover today for Kelan's pursuit and as always the art department at TEB have done a wonderful job. Here's a sneak preview below. At the moment I'm working hard to get book four in the series - Aaron's Awakening - completed and submitted but I didn't have the best of weeks. Not very productive at all. Hopefully next week will be better. Wish me luck!

What do you do when sex isn't 'coming'?
Okay, so I'm currently working on book four in my Shifters' Haven series and I've hit a little problem – Sex.In the first three books the sex happens fairly rapidly for the lead characters and while it doesn't overwhelm the books it is somewhat constant. However In book four, this is not the case. One of the lead characters has been hurt badly in his past, both physically and emotionally and so it is not appropriate for him to jump into bed with his mate the second he meets him.I'm trying to...

Difficult to say goodbye?
I had some wonderful news through today. My third and what was to be final instalment in my Mated to Morgan's series - Kelan's Pursuit - was contracted by TEB. The series was originally intended to chart the lives of the Morgan brothers. Three wolf shifters living in a small town in Texas. Each book focussed on a different brother and told the story of how they found their mate.
However, half way through writing the third book one of my secondary characters became more important in the s...

Planner or Pantser?
I read a question on Facebook recently that made me chuckle. The question was are you a planner or a pantser? I have to admit I'd never heard the term 'Pantser' before but I like it, I like it a lot. And the question is extremely relevant to where I am with my writing at this moment in time.
The question was referring to whether or not a writer creates a full outline for their novel before they start writing or whether they just wing it. Are you methodical in the planning of your novel...

What do you do when you start a book you don't enjoy?
Sigh. I did the unthinkable today. I got more than halfway through a book and gave up. To be honest this is a new experience for me. To not finish a book I think is an insult to the author and even when I'm not enjoying a story much I always persevere in the hope that I'll have some sort of epiphany and finally 'get it'. Sadly this was not the case and I couldn't bring myself to read the final 100 pages.
The most confusing thing was that I'd read several books by this author in the past and e...

Exciting news!
I had some great news today I thought I'd share with everyone. The second book in my Mated to Morgans' series - Cody's Revelation - has just been contracted and is set for release some time later in the year. Woohoo! Naturally I'm thrilled with the news and now working flat out to get book three in the series edited and submitted.
It's a wonderful feeling when you get that yes from a publisher and realise someone else believes in your work as much as you do.
