Aaron's Awakening
I had some great news today I thought I'd share with you all, Aaron's Awakening - book four in my Shifters' Haven series has been contracted by Total-E-Bound and is due for release in the next few months. I haven't received the cover for Aaron's book yet but as soon as I get it I'll be sure to post it. Until then I thought I'd share an excerpt from the new book.
Aaron slid his arm around Cary's waist and tugged him closer until the top halves of their body were pressed firmly together. He ...

Raised eyebrows at an M/M kiss.
I had a wonderful time at ladies night of the Lincoln Book festival on Tuesday. All the staff at Total-E-Bound did an incredible job organising the night and they succeeded in raising a lot of money for the local charity they supported, so all good!
It was really great to meet some of my fellow TEB authors and staff. I was made to feel very welcome so thank you everyone!

Lincoln Book Festival
I'm giving my first book reading for my publishers Total-E-Bound tomorrow at the opening night of the Lincoln Book Festival and I'm incredibly nervous. I've gone over the extract I'll be reading about a hundred times now and even though I know it like the back of my hand I'm convinced I'll be stumbling over the words and stuttering my way through the entire scene.
I've never been brilliant at public speaking and the closer the night gets the more I think 'Why did you sign up for this, you...

My very first release day!

I have to admit I've been grinning like a loon and doing the happy dance all day.
However, now is not the time to rest on my laurels. I still haven't finished book four in my Shifters' Haven series (Yes I know, I've been at this one for longer than the ...

Working holiday?
I'm off to Bulgaria in the morning to take a look at my new house and to meet with builders to discuss renovations. I'm only going for five days and although I'm looking forward to the trip I'm in two minds whether or not to make it a working holiday. Do I take my laptop?
I'm close to finishing book four in my Shifters' Haven series and book one of Bollywood dreams so I find myself in somewhat of a quandary. Part of me is looking forward to a break away from my laptop as it and I have become c...

How do you cope with negativity?
Wow it's getting ever closer to the release of my first book - Luke's Surprise - and I have to admit nerves are setting in. Although naturally I'm excited about the release I can't help but feel somewhat apprehensive.
This might be an incredibly obvious point, but with release date comes readers and with readers come reviews. The latter part I am not looking forward to.
I know, I know reviews are an inevitable component of being a writer. I know that when one writes something and puts it into ...

Excerpt of Bollywood Dreams
Hi all, just thought I'd post an excerpt of a new novel I'm writing. It's set in and around the glamorous world of Bollywood. It's about a British Bodyguard that has set up a company in Mumbai offering bodyguard services to Bollywood actors Working title is Bollywood Dreams. Hope you enjoy!
Brent threw the last letter on his desk and sighed. He was no private investigator but he liked to have all available information before he began a job. If he knew what sort of threat his client faced then ...

A fresh pair of eyes
So relieved! I've finally sorted out the problem with book four in my Shifters' Haven series -Aaron's Awakening, and now I feel I am able to move forward with the story and hopefully get it finished in the next couple of days.
This morning I had a chat to a friend about the book and she confirmed what I had been thinking about the story myself - there was too much going on in it.
I'd introduced an unneccessary character, bent on revenge and basically boxed myself into a corner. I wanted...

Writing in the sun
Morning all! Well it's a glorious spring day today, the sun is shining and I'm in the mood for some serious writing! I already took my laptop out into the garden and sat at the table for an hour but then the sun got too bright and I couldn't see I damn thing!
That's a major gripe of mine I have to say. Why can't they invent a laptop purely for word processing that can be used outdoors? Something along the lines of the many non-back lit e-readers available? There are so many writers out t...

The words are not flowing
Wow, I've had a really difficult couple of weeks on my current novel. The words are not flowing as freely as they were in the first three books in the series, and on more than one occasion I've been tempted to leave the book and go on to something else.
The strangest thing is the main characters in this novel both appeared in previous books and they happen to be my favourite characters in the series. Because of this I can't understand why it's so hard for me to tell their story. Before I ...
