Have eBooks Changed Your Buying Habits?

Shopping Cart by Creative Tools

Jaclyn emailed the DA reviewer group the other day with the following question:

I got into an argument on Twitter with another publisher about buying ebooks and now I want to know what other readers do…

With print books most of us have towering TBRs. Books we've bought and never read. Is the same true with ebooks? Do you buy more ebooks than you read?

I don't. I just add stuff to a wishlist–an unpurchased TBR–and I buy when I'm ready to read. I have maybe three...

REVIEW: Spoil of War by Phoenix Sullivan

Dear Ms. Sullivan,

When Jane put out the call for site improvements, I saw several people suggest more 'Indie' reviews. And I was inspired. I've been suffering from some lackluster reading, and I thought that reading and reviewing some Indie books would be an interesting challenge. So I started with yours.

[image error]You might want to stop reading right about here, because this is not going to be pretty.

(Also to anyone else: if you are easily triggered by rape discussion, you might also want to stop...

Slam. Slam. Slam. The sound of heavy doors closing had Madi glancing around the parking garage, trying to find the source. She didn't see anyone on this level, but heard masculine voices. She heard one of the men say, "Glad you got that call from my dad about this...

Guest Review: Northern Lights Trilogy by Cindy Gerard

Book #1: The Bride Wore Blue

The cheesy title refers to the epilogue, but I'm glad I took the time to dive into The Bride Wore Blue.

[image error]JD "Blue" Hazzard fell in love with Maggie "Stretch" Adams when they were teenagers, and his unrequited love has remained for fifteen years. He followed her career (she is an internationally known model), and when he happens to be flying his plane over the  lake where Maggie spent that one summer and spots a bombshell out in a bathing suit he has to land for a...

What Jia is Reading, Week of August 8

The number of books I read any given week more or less depends on their respective genres. If I'm reading YA or romances, I will burn through many books. On the other hand, if I'm reading a doorstopper epic fantasy, it can take a while and I'll only finish one. This was a Only One Book sort of week.

[image error]A Dance with Dragons by George R. R. Martin. I finally finished this 1000+ page monster! Was it worth the wait? I honestly don't know the answer to that. I struggled through the first half of the n...

"You're the girl of my dreams…and apparently I'm the man of yours." – Henry Roth

Even as I sit here writing this review, I can't believe it. I've actually watched, and enjoyed, a second Adam Sandler film. Will miracles never cease? Thank you DA community, for urging me to give this one a chance because if you hadn't, I never would have. But let me ...

REVIEW: Changing the Game by Jaci Burton

Dear Ms. Burton:

As you know, I really enjoyed The Perfect Play. I love football and I felt like the story captured elements of the athlete hero fairly well.  It was scorching hot and had a believable love story with a great heroine.  I knew from hints within The Perfect Play and by the included excerpt that the next book would feature Gavin and his agent, Elizabeth.

[image error]When I first read this book, I put it down and skimmed to the end but then I felt like I should finish it for a review because I ...

What Jaclyn is Reading, Week of August 8

I may be the slowest writer and least frequent reviewer of the DA crew, but I surely do read a lot. I have this funny (at least it's funny to my husband) habit of buying more than one ebook at a time. If I'm going to go to the effort to surf the bookstore and type in the payment information, I figure I should buy a few things. Anyhoo, here's what I've read in the past week.

An ARC of Animal Attraction by Jill Shalvis. I'll post a review closer to publication date. (Yes, I like it.)
