Small changes.

I'm no longer writing book reviews on this blog. As far as book reviews go, I'm no longer writing them. If you're interested in any opinions I have on books you can add me on Goodreads. I keep track of everything I read and leave star ratings there. This blog will now only be used to update you about new books I've published, sales on any of my books, and of any public readings or conventions I attend. (I may be attending a reading in Cincinnati at the end of May. I'll keep you updated.)
I'm trying to simplify things so I can focus on my writing and be less stressed. I hope you enjoy the less cluttered blog. And as always, feel free to email me if you have any questions or just want to give me a hard time.
If you haven't already noticed, and you're a lover of paperbacks, Amazon has two of my books on sale currently: Endlessly and Legacy. You can click on the covers on the right of the page to be redirected if you're interested.
Have a good one.

Book Review: American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis

American Psycho
American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
ABOUT:
In American Psycho, Bret Easton Ellis imaginatively explores the incomprehensible depths of madness and captures the insanity of violence in our time or any other. Patrick Bateman moves among the young and trendy in 1980s Manhattan. Young, handsome, and well educated, Bateman earns his fortune on Wall Street by day while spending his nights in ways we cannot begin to fathom. Expressing his true self through torture and murder, Bateman prefigures an apocalyptic horror that no society could bear to confront.
SHORT REVIEW:
Some people love this book, and others hate it with a passion. Me? I found it hysterical. Maybe there's something wrong with me. Now if you'll excuse me... I need to return some video tapes.

Book Review - The New Hunger by Isaac Marion

The New Hunger (Warm Bodies, #0.5)
The New Hunger by Isaac Marion
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

ABOUT:

New York is a bayou. New Orleans is a reef. The entire country has been devastated by natural disasters and governmental collapse, and on top of everything else there is the annoying problem of zombies trying to devour you at every turn. But sixteen-year-old Nora and her younger brother Addis are about to discover the most frightening thing yet: being abandoned in this horrific world by their own parents.
Left with only a bag of clothes and a first-aid kit, Nora and Addis begin a harrowing journey to connect with anyone who isn't looking to rob them or eat them. A wounded man wrecks a meal of green beans and French fries at the top of the Space Needle in Seattle. An attempt to get a good night’s sleep in a fortified motel is ruined by an undead face staring at them through the window. And they just can’t seem to shake someone – something – that’s been following them everywhere they go….
Meanwhile, a girl named Julie is traveling toward the city in an SUV with her parents. She is only twelve, but has already seen friends die and her school burn. She has watched her father become nearly as cold and remorseless as the Dead. All she wants is someplace to call home, even if it never really will be.
And somewhere nearby, a tall man awakens in the woods, unsure of exactly where he is, or even who he is. As he struggles to remember details of his life, a single consonant comes to him: R. He is…a name that begins with R….
Isaac Marion once again demonstrates his remarkable gifts as a storyteller as he brings the world of WARM BODIES back to life. Grounding his characters in real emotion, Marion makes you root for them to save the world even as they simply try to stay alive.
SHORT REVIEW:

This is a great companion to Warm Bodies. I was able to buy one of the author's limited edition book The Hungry Mouth, and this is a growth of the last story in the collection. I look forward to seeing more of this story line.

The Complete Endlessly Trilogy.

At the request of a few people... Okay, I lied, at the request of no one I've completed an all-in-one download of the Endlessly trilogy. The cover below is a limited edition cover... Okay, I lied again, it's a crappy cover I made while waiting on the final cover from an actual artist. It will only be available on Amazon unless I get enough requests for Nook, iTunes, ect... Okay, I lied for the last time, I'm just waiting for the final cover before I mess with uploading it to the other channels. Click the cover below to download it for your Kindle.

Last Woman On Earth

Here is the cover for digital short story I wrote. It is available on Kindle, but don't buy it! I'm working diligently to make this free. It may take a couple weeks for the price change to take effect and for it to appear on all the other channels. (Nook, Sony, Kobo, iTunes, ect.) If you can't wait until then you can read it or download it for your device at Smashwords. Here is the link:

Book Review - Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

Gone Girl
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

ABOUT:

Marriage can be a real killer.
One of the most critically acclaimed suspense writers of our time, New York Times bestseller Gillian Flynn takes that statement to its darkest place in this unputdownable masterpiece about a marriage gone terribly, terribly wrong. The Chicago Tribune proclaimed that her work “draws you in and keeps you reading with the force of a pure but nasty addiction.” Gone Girl’s toxic mix of sharp-edged wit and deliciously chilling prose creates a nerve-fraying thriller that confounds you at every turn.
On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy's diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media—as well as Amy’s fiercely doting parents—the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he’s definitely bitter—but is he really a killer?
As the cops close in, every couple in town is soon wondering how well they know the one that they love. With his twin sister, Margo, at his side, Nick stands by his innocence. Trouble is, if Nick didn’t do it, where is that beautiful wife? And what was in that silvery gift box hidden in the back of her bedroom closet?
With her razor-sharp writing and trademark psychological insight, Gillian Flynn delivers a fast-paced, devilishly dark, and ingeniously plotted thriller that confirms her status as one of the hottest writers around.
SHORT REVIEW:

A great book. Gillian Flynn has a fantastic narrative voice. This is the second book I've read by her, and I look forward to many more.
