So... um... Is Renee going to show up again, in Batgirl? I was pleasantly pleased to see her pop up, if that was her, in the background, in issue #12. :3
I would love to write Renee any time, any place. Greg Rucka and I talked about co-writing a Huntress/Question series, but it was nixed as there were already plans for Huntress. :(
Good gosh, who drew these? They are fabulous!

“When you’re wearing a wig, if...

“When you’re wearing a wig, if it’s tight, snug or just right for your size head, take brakes from wearing your wig. Even if you think its not so tight on you, trust me: the longer you wear it without brakes the worst. By not doing so, you slow the blood circulation in your head and it can lead to being light-headed. Which is very bad. Just like you would to take brakes from wearing a big costume, its also the same for wigs as well. Trust me.” Quote from toris-fan-nest
This is more of a cosplay tip, but I like posting cosplaying tips too. It’s always good to let your head breath for a little while. Take off your wig cap as well, because a lot of that discomfort comes from your wig cap. You don’t have to walk around in cosplay with no wig though. You can just go up to your room to put stuff away, and take your wig off for a few minutes before going back.
Solid advice, even with a fitted wig. Especially in hot, cramped conditions.
can you hear me, major tom?: Why Women Don’t Work at Marvel
Gail Simone, at her message board, responds to the question of why not many women submit to Marvel, seeking work there:
“I like Marvel. I have a lot of friends at Marvel. But there is definitely a Howard Stern/partytime/fratboy/strip club element.
Again, I like Marvel. But when I was…
It’s important to say here…when I said this about Marvel, I was NOT talking about how I was treated. Marvel treated me very well, so well that I have stayed friends with marvel management ever since. Joe Quesada was never anything less than excellent to me.
Second, this was over ten years ago. I talked with higher ups at Marvel when this story blew up several years back and they had already made serious changes to prevent this behavior.
Third, I have many female friends there now and not one has expressed a return to the behavior mentioned. My understanding is, the person most responsible has been let go from the company years ago.
Marvel seems to be making a genuine effort to include more females and their roster of female writers is growing, and their female editors are top-notch.
In short, I sincerely think this story is a thing of the past there, according to my many friends with direct experience, for which I believe they are to be commanded.
Also, people should read everything written by Kelly Sue DeConnick, Marjorie Liu, Jen Van Meter, or Kathryn Immonen, among others!
Another Question
Why is mainstream tv right now so much better than mainstream film?
I like WALKING DEAD better than any recent zombie films. Doctor Who is more thrilling and romantic than most sf adveture films or romance films. LOUIE is more heartbreaking than any film i’ve watched lately. I laugh more at 20 minutes of FUTURAMA and BOB’s BURGERS than both Hangover films combined. There are genres I love, like British mysteries, that have all but disappeared from film, but thrive on tv.
What’s going on here? What happened to film?

Done! Well, as done as it’s going to be. I’m too scared to do anything else, because I don’t want to ruin it. Hey, I’m trying, lol. Ragdoll, aka Peter Merkel Jr, aka my favourite member of Secret Six.
Inspired by Gail Simone’s perfect writing of the character:

This page had me in stitches for the rest of the night. Look at Thomas’s face.
This is a beautiful piece of art, wow!

Words can’t express. If these guys had a book, I would write it in a heartbeat.
I'm more of an old reader and, unlike most, I don't care too much for the continuity bumps or the loss of series and whatnot (those can be frequent in comics, after all), but what really bothers me about the DCnU is the change of tone and just the creative
Hmm. I am not sure which character (s) that refers to.
I think everyone knew that not every reader would like every book, and there has been a lot of course correction with some titles, while others clearly have not found an audience.
Not sure what else to say…the books I am enjoying are great, some don’t seem to have come together as well, but I think that’s the only outcome a reasonable person could have expected when trying something so massive.
