DC Megos. (Some of these are customs, I think)

These would be out of the boxes and in my hands in about four seconds if I owned them.

Cass Cain Fan Campaign

ladiesmakingcomics:

romanadvoratrelundar:

The idea is that on, let’s say, August 31st, fans goes to comixology and buy Batgirl #1.

The goal is to get her on the bestseller list for the day (or longer) and prove to DC that she’s not “toxic” and there are still fans who want to read about the character.

So, anyone interested?

Count me in!

Cass fans unite!

Hey Gail, do you ever just stroll through the Gail Simone tagg to see what people are saying about your work? Or to just see old work you may have forgotten about?

I have a bunch of saved searched, stuff I’m either working on or am interested in, that I check probably once a day, it’s just a big time-saver. And that’s where I find all the cool scans and fan art that are the reason I like Tumblr. :)

““Truthfully? My first reaction is to say I don’t care what people think. If women are making comics and buying comics and reading comics and loving comics and talking about comics, I really don’t need further validation from people who are unaware. I don’t feel like that point needs to be proven. It’s like all those people who come down on every girl who says she’s a geek, or into geek culture. It’s like it’s not enough to be a geek, you have to PROVE you’re a geek to strangers whose opinions don’t matter anyway.””

Bane takes a fatherly role to Scandal. Best way to start your adoption of a grown ass woman? Limit her ice cream consumption.

We still say this sometimes around our house…

“You can have ONE ice cream.”

“What?”

“ONE.”

From Wonder Woman #44. Art by the lovely Nicola Scott. Credit for the photo. ;)

This is a fantastic panel and it was a good end to Nicola Scott’s and Gail Simone’s run on Wondy, but one thing: the brunette next to Diana is actually her mother, Hippolyta.  She played a huge role in Gail’s run, Donna and Cassie sadly less so ( I think they had Donna over at Titans and Cassie at Teen Titans at the time? ).

Totally minor thing, but Hippolyta’s tag can always use love, especially the preboot kind.

Nicola was dying to draw Wonder Woman, it was something she’d wanted to do forever, and my run was ending, so she wanted to get in on it, bless her. She nailed it, just did amazing work…a family emergency meant that she couldn’t do all the pages, which were written specifically for her, and that’s always a regret, but the gentleman who filled in did a magnificent job and even matched her style pretty nicely.

This book has one of my favorite sentences I’ve ever written (spoilers!).

When the aliens are attacking Washington and destroying it, Hippolyta shows up on her pegasus and with an army of Amazons and yells out…

“Amazons…

…DEFEND.”

My favorite ever. I miss Hippolyta so much!

Obviously you're probably not allowed to comment directly on any Wonder Woman scripts you've seen - but is there anyone specifically you'd like to see tackle the project? Someone who you really thought could do the character justice?

Argh, I suck at this. I honestly don’t keep up with a lot of names in film. It’s horrible, I just…I almost never read the credits. How messed up is that, that I’m a writer who doesn’t read the credits?

I am awful.

I really don’t have an answer. Most of the Marvel films recently were very enjoyable, but fell down on the portrayal of females (Avengers is a notable and thankfully acknowledged exception). And of course Superman Returns had an awful Lois.

I don’t know. Joss?

I want a Wonder Woman who has at least SOME humor to her, even if it’s very dark.

I honestly haven’t got a good guess.

Anyone with any thoughts?
