Yes, religious, specifically Christian, allegory is all through that arc, specifically Bane, Scandal, Catman and Ragdoll.
I wouldn’t say that Bane is supposed to represent any particular biblical figure, but he clearly is the one who is the most aware of what the stakes are from the point of view of his soul.
I state again, I am an atheist, and I don’t think DC’s underworld represents the Christian Hell exclusively, I think it’s more an aggregate.

As pathetic as it may be, one of my biggest regrets with Secret Six is that I no longer get to write Bane and Spencer together. Most fun ever. :(
