When Black Canary gets trolled on her tumblr account does she respond with random Gail Simone facts?
HA!
I Am Still Learning
I know I don’t get everything right all the time, and I know I have a lot to learn about diverse groups of all kinds. I appreciate people being patient with me, I learn a little bit more every day. You all have been an amazing resource and I am very grateful!

The thing these mra dinguses screeching at Gail Simone don’t get, is that people TALKING about women in the comic industry is not the same as women being accepted.
"Weh weh weh why do wimmins get special attention just for being girls CREATIVE MERIT IS GENDERBLIND WAAAA"
Uh, the answer is that…
This is something I have been thinking about lately.
I can’t really complain about my position in the industry. I am offered wonderful projects and opportunities, paid well, and treated with respect. I am sure it’s the same for Kelly Sue and Marjorie M Liu.
So when we speak on this topic, it is far more about the next people in line. I want there to be more diversity at the table. I want more people to have the opportunities I am now fortunate enough to have (I will say “have earned,” because it wasn’t easy).
So when someone insults me, who cares? It’s not that important or even interesting. But I don’t want this horseshit to stop the NEXT people who try to break in, I don’t want them to look and say, “Oh, well, I guess I am not welcome here.”
You ARE welcome here, it’s as much your industry as anyone’s.
given the changes to the Amazons backstory in Nu52, would that change Jeanette's opinions of them?
WOW.
Seriously, you know, I hadn’t given that a thought until you mentioned it just now.
JEANNETTE: AMAZON HUNTER.
I would write that book!
I wonder what it would take to bring Jeannette back….

I love this couple…er, trio.
I’ll never forgive Gail for making knockout a lesbian. Sorry.
Well, wow.
Okay. First, she’s not lesbian, she’s bisexual.
And second, Knockout’s CREATOR said it made perfect sense for Knockout to be bisexual, that it fit his vision of her character absolutely. He could not have been more supportive or approving.
I think am going to stop here.
Also, I didn’t ask to be forgiven.

So I thought that you might be able to help me with some advice. After a few rough years of illness(autism diagnosis plus immune dysfunction) I am trying to get back into writing and art(always hand in hand for me). But the little bit of anxiety I had a
I am a bit hesitant because I don’t know the extent of your illnesses or how they manifest in your day-to-day life and I am absolutely not qualified to express any opinions on them. So any advice I have may not be useful to you due to my own lack of knowledge on the conditions you have to deal with.
As long as we know that, I will say that I barely know any writers of any merit at all who don’t self-sabotage. Almost every good or great writer I know has expressed to me feelings of being a fraud, or of having ‘lost’ whatever magic made them popular. If I could tell you the names of some of these people who have the exact same feelings you are mentioning, you would not believe it. And I include myself in that group, absolutely.
The ones who DON’T have those feelings are mostly people who have made a decision to believe their own press. They are not people who should be emulated, anyway.
This topic comes up almost every time writers get together and talk honestly. We all deal with it. You are not alone, you are actually in pretty damn fine company.
My other advice is the same advice I give for almost any question about writing. FINISH THINGS. Do small projects. SMALL projects is the key. Do something you can finish in an hour, then do something bigger, then bigger. Each finished project makes you grow an inch until you reach the sky.
Finish things. It does not matter how small the project. Finish it.
That is what makes you a writer, I promise.
Do you think there could ever be a way for Helena Bertinelli to come back? I know she's technically dead and was 'never' Huntress in the new 52, but I like to think that she feigned her death and one day she'll show up on Helena Wayne's doorstep and angril
I hope so, I brought this up just last week again and no movement yet but I hope so.
Helena Bertinelli is a distinct and unique character, and I MISS HER BAD.
Would you ever go on the Howard Stern show to talk about your work?
I am sure they have no interest in me and I have even less in them, to be honest.
