Regarding harassment of women in comics, has it gotten better? I remain optimistic but cynical.

I don’t know for sure, it’s a little better for me in that most message boards don’t openly condone it any more, but a lot of the newer women in comics are still reporting a LOT of this stuff all the time.

I know a lot of the comics commentators who are female are just subjected to this stuff endlessly. :(

Babs Tarr

I really, really like her art.

The new Batgirl is going to look lovely.

A Question On Being Judged

Okay, I have asked this question a good while ago, but am asking it a little differently.

I am asked to give my opinion on comics, art, all sorts of things from new creators all the time. I always try to be kind, but honest. I feel like only being kind does no one any good. I don’t want to be Paula Abdul.

But I have seen pros rip into submissions and portfolios and leave aspiring creators with no hope, no positives at all. I am not that person.

So, let me ask you. If you could bring your work to an established pro to have it looked at…

…be honest. Do you want total brutal truth, or do you want kind encouragement?

I intended to have this more polished, but after all the feeling unwell lately, I feel as though I’ve lost my strength a little. Here it is nonetheless - Batgirl sporting her great new design, whilst holding part of her previous costume nostalgically, as a nod to gailsimone's run which officially ended this past week. Excited for what's coming, yet I want to mention that I love what Gail did with Babs, and all the other characters (especially Alysia); her work has inspired many people and it will be missed!

Also want to say that I wish all good things to the new team; I can’t wait to pick up their first issue!

Lara, this is absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much.

Gorgeous.

Always remember.

btfanboy:

In your lowest, in your darkest, when you need inspiration and some light carry your teachers with you and heed they’re words.

Keep faith, trust to love. Fight with honor, but fight to win.

Fight to win.

And reach out. There’s always a hand out there.

Lovely.

Thank you.

You say you love role-playing games! Have you tried Dragon Age out? If so, are you looking forward to Inquisition?

I have and I am!

I know people hate this when I say it, but I found all the dialog in Dragon Age to be painful to sit through. It’s written well, but I kept wanting to play the GAME and there are all these long conversations and you don’t know if something important is going to be said. I did get frustrated with it.

However, a game company sent me the pen and paper Dragon Age role playing boxed set and it looks AMAZING. Can’t wait to play it!
