Slightly pervy question, i know, but what would you say is the sexiest thing you've ever seen in a comic?

Hmm.

I thought Abby and Swamp Thing together for the first time was pretty saucy, in a weird way. Not much is really leaping to mind. Huh.

For my own stuff, Jeannette and Deadshot in the clawfoot tub in our Western issue was way up there.

The wonderful SIDESHOW COLLECTIBLES is giving away one of their gorgeous Red Sonja statues, along with some DYNAMITE Red Sonja comics by me. The contest ends Monday, October 6th.

I just got my copy of the statue yesterday and seriously, all I can say is HOLY ^%$#. It’s one of the most gorgeous things I’ve ever seen.

There’s no purchase needed to enter, it’s just a fun thing we put together to celebrate the statue and Red Sonja’s 40th anniversary. Check it out, and if you win it, let me know, okay?

seti-fan:

To celebrate the return of a version of the Secret Six to the DC New 52, I wanted to draw a portrait of the original characters in the style of my Daddy Bats comic (http://seti-fan.tumblr.com/post/97032791550/daddy-bats-5-im-sorry-that-may-be-the-worst). While trying to decide on their poses, I thought of Ragdoll climbing on Bane like a monkey and that led to this and I have no regrets. (I’ll leave it to those who are better judges whether Catman or Deadshot would be on top…)

Soon back to our regularly scheduled overcompensatingly paternal Batman.

I didn’t know I wanted this so bad until I JUST NOW SAW IT.

Fantastic!

In a post-Ferguson world, Americans increasingly doubt the notion of colorblind justice.

HOW THE FUCK DID THE PERCENTAGE GO UP FOR WHITE PEOPLE

IN WHAT UNIVERSE DOES A POLICE OFFICER SHOOTING AN UNARMED BLACK KID (AND THEN ATTEMPTING TO COVER IT UP AFTER THE FACT) CONSTITUTE EQUAL TREATMENT IN THE JUSTICE SYSTEM

LIKE WHO LOOKS AT THAT AND GOES “WELL, BEFORE I THOUGHT THAT THERE WAS RACISM IN OUR JUSTICE SYSTEM, BUT THEN THIS SHIT HAPPENED AND NOW I SEE THAT IT’S PERFECTLY EQUAL”

WHAT THE FUCK

This increase can be explained by an interesting social phenomenon called ‘denial.’

They benefit from not knowing.. and from believing in myths.

Comparing beliefs before and after Michael Brown’s murder and the surrounding revelations of racism that have sprung out of it, white people, as a demographic believe, MORE THAN EVER BEFORE, that the criminal justice system treats whites and blacks equally.

That is, MORE white people believe the criminal justice system treats black equally now than they did before Michael Brown’s death.

In essence, for white people, blatant systemic oppression and the murder of an unarmed young black man gives them even more reason to believe blacks are treated fairly by the system.

This confirms an earlier study that said the more you tell white people that the system is inherently racist, the more they supported harsher punishments for black people: http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2014/08/07/3468368/study-white-people-support-harsher-criminal-laws-if-they-think-more-black-people-are-arrested/

Marinate on these inhumanities for a second.

So, are you friends with Scott and Kulap? I'm not sure my brain is ready for that.

I am, I have been on Comedy Bang Bang and when I go down to LA next, I have been invited to be on it again, as well as Who Charted. I was in Kulap’s documentary, and we email regularly.

They are both awesome.

DC Comics has gone from one female creator (at the start of the New 52 in 2011) to 11 at the close of 2014.

Marvel Comics has moved from zero female-led monthly titles to 10 by the end of this year.

Wonder Woman is headlining three monthly titles for the first time in her 75 year career.

Marvel is pushing forward ideas like a female Thor, an African-American Captain America, and, if rumors are true, even a female Wolverine — diversifying their A-list for the first time ever.

DC has re-envisioned its entire Bat-line in October to reflect the need for genre diversity and attract new readers, reinvigorating Batgirl, Batwoman, and Secret Six, and introducing such titles as Gotham Academy, Klarion, Arkham Manor, and Gotham by Midnight.

Dynamite Entertainment is expanding its commitment to female-led titles and preparing an all-woman team book written by Gail Simone for 2015.

Valiant Comics has released its first ever female-led title, The Death-Defying Doctor Mirage, to much acclaim.

Dark Horse Comics is broadening its creator-owned base in the wake of the loss of their Star Wars license, publishing more non-corporate-owned material than ever before.

Archie Comics is aggressively pursuing its mission to diversify the denizens of Riverdale, and add a broad collection of new genres to its publishing mix, including horror and super-hero titles.

And companies like Image Comics, BOOM! Studios, IDW Publishing, and Monkeybrain Comics continue to broaden the sheer amount of different types of material available today for adults and kids both.

- Matt Santori-Griffith, “Crisis of Epic Proportion: Time of Change.” (via lyrafay)

All true stuff…and nice to see!
