GAIL! I'VE BEEN FOLLOWING YOU ALL THIS TIME, HOW DID I NOT KNOW IT WAS YOU WHO DUBBED 'WOMEN IN REFRIGERATORS' MY HERO, MY ABSOLUTE HERO, I WOULD HUG YOU BUT THE INTERNET PREVENTS ME

Heh. It’s okay, I will accept a virtual hug.

It’s a funny thing, but a lot of PROS don’t know I coined that phrase and created the original content (the list itself was a group effort, and I kind of wish it hadn’t been, we got some stuff wrong).

I have been on panels where people brought up the phrase, “Women in Refrigerators,” not knowing I came up with it. I’ve had it said to me at high level meetings, even some Hollywood people have said it.

It’s fine, I don’t care about credit, I just hope people paid a little attention. :)

You seem to be the leading force in knowledge on Catman's butt. What do you think the Catman of Earth-3 is like?

I stopped reading when you said “Catman’s butt.”

I got distracted.

Wow, hey, were those Street Fighter cards official merch, promos, or artist's alley?

Official merch, extremely limited edition, available only at the Udon Entertainment booth. They know my son loves this stuff (and I adore Chun Li) and they kindly gifted them to us!

QUESTION OF THE DAY!

I was mentioning on Twitter that I am getting more bi and gay females talking about the Swords of Sorrow characters in a sexy way than any book I’ve done probably since Wonder Woman, maybe even since Birds of Prey. Which is a lot of fun.

But it got me thinking about who in comics, which characters, really are the objects of a little bit of good honest lust for readers. We know the common names.

My question is, which comics characters are your secret crush?  Maximum of three, please. :)

Not to start any flames wars or whatever it's called these days. But do you find it condescending when other writers talk about supporting "strong independent female characters" yet they write their female characters that are entirely co-dependent on if t

Yep.

A great deal of the ‘strong female character’ wave is complete bullshit.

It’s not enough to repeat buzzwords and catchphrases. It’s not enough to only create the same character type over and over again. It’s not enough to merely avoid the things that have gotten other writers called out on in the past.

You have to actually care, you have to actually listen, you have to actually pay attention.

Not everyone knows that, yet.

So, random and probably silly question, but google has been completely unhelpful and I figured you might know the answer... what is the process to become editor-in-chief of a comic book company? It's my dream (lofty, I know, but shoot for the moon land amo

I honestly have no idea. Dan DiDio got his position after writing for the SUPERBOY show, and Joe Quesada got his after the success of the MARVEL KNIGHTS imprint.

Other than that, I haven’t got a clue. Sorry!
