Fairuza Balk as Lori Zechlin/Black Alice.
Every time I see a young Fairuza Balk, I see Lori Zechlin. To my mind, NO ONE would ever have been a better choice.
HARLEY IN COO-COO-LAND: So...this is how I feel
A lot of cosplayers put a lot into being look a likes, into becoming as like the character as they can be. I know that I do this. I stand in front of the mirror practicing poses and facial expressions for ages for a con. I put a lot of time and effort into making my costumes as…

Oozing of Onslaughttitude: I Guess I Shouldn't Be Surprised
…by the ignorant, bigoted comments about this Alan Scott outing. I get that some people have objections for other reasons, but many are just plain obnoxiously homophobic.
I read worse, meaner ones…but this one really got to me, for some reason. From…
“Gay bandwagon,” my ass. I am so sick of hearing that.
First, three new characters at three different companies is a TRICKLE, not a bandwagon. We are all still so far behind on lgbtq portrayal that ANY movement forward is important, as long as it is done well. This is the same goofy thinking that objects when JLA has two black members, as ‘forced diversity.’ It’s bullshit. I don’t even want to bother addressing this stuff, but it keeps coming up. It’s embarrassing.
I wish there WAS a bandwagon. But there isn’t.
Second, this was the writer’s idea. He saw that the new continuity meant a loss of a prominent DC gay male character he really liked, Obsidian. And he felt that redressing that was important. This is one way to do that. There are objections for other reasons, if you like, sure. But that was why it happened. It was not a corporate or marketing decision.
AND I remind everyone that this isn’t the first long-standing character that the writer has outed. He did it brilliantly years ago with STARMAN, one of the best titles DC has ever produced.
The problem with the recent DC and Marvel stuff is not that it exists, it’s that it’s late in coming and there’s not ENOUGH.
But change is coming, it’s inevitable. And that’s a good thing.

Posting because my boyfriend and I spent a good chunk of our date the other night discussing whether or not Ragdoll had a penis. There’s a part in the comic where Deadshot asks Ragdoll if he’s ever told Alice that he’s “fixed”, whereas Ragdoll replies “It hasn’t quite come up” , (pun intended I’m sure).I mean we know he’s castrated but does this also imply he doesn’t have a penis either? Because if not, wouldn’t he have to have a bag connecting to his kidneys attached to him or something? That’d be pretty inconvenient, don’t you think? Also, WHY WERE MY BOYFRIEND AND I TALKING ABOUT PETER’S COCK, OR LACK THERE OF, IN THE FIRST PLACE?
Castration talk aside, can I just say how much I love these three images?

Zindaaaaaaaaaaaa
I love her
If I liked in the DCU I’d totally want to go out partying with her
By the morning after I wouldn’t remember most of it and would have the worlds worst hang over I’m sure but it would be so worth it :D
Oh, yes. Yes. It. Would. Zinda would be one of the best people to party with. (I’d bring in Scandal as my wingman, too. ^_-)
Best party girl in the dcu!
