Using Leverage to Efficiently Market Your Books While You Write

Ever since I read my first blog post on Nicholas’s blog, I was hooked.  He is open, insightful, helpful and efficient.  I’ve mostly focused on building a targeted following on twitter but when I read his post about blogging, I knew that it was time for me to take a step forward with my marketing.

I’m the kind of person that once I decide to do something, I want to do all of it, all at once, and perfect…

Book Review Day: The Darkness Comes Mini Tour Stop!

Originally posted on JThompson Books:

I was hooked, once again, by the time I was into the first page. I can’t pin point what it is, but Bruce has a writing style that just sucks me in and hold me in his books. I love the story line of the first book in the series, When Shadows Fall, and The Darkness Comes flows like I never took a break from reading. I loved all the same characters in this book and my favorite, Horace, didn’t disappoint.

Who doesn’t love tales that thrill and contain The Mother Goddess and Small Gods? And let’s not forget the prophecy that needs to be fulfilled. I loved following around the Prince and Princess although, I cried thinking Prince Teryk was dead. And I love a good book that can make me a little girly enough to cry. I shivered reading how creepy it was of the Princess meeting the…

Thank you for inviting me to be interviewed. My name is Tracie Podger.

Age

I’m a young 46, soon to be 47 year old.

Where are you from

Originally born in South East London, I have lived in Kent for most of my life. I’m currently living in the Medway Towns, close to the historic town of Rochester.

A little about your self `ie your education Family life etc

I’m married to David and owned by a rather obnoxious cat called George. George and I have an understanding – I feed him, he won’t bite me. I went to one of the largest schools in the SE which the students likened to a prison with its drab green and brown uniform but it does claim to have a ghost who lived in the library. The White Lady (original, huh?) patrols the top floor, mainly to keep the students from…

I currently live in central Florida, but I grew up in the great state of Texas ;)

I’m very happily married and live with my husband and our pets. I’ve always been a hopeless romantic with a lot to say, so storytelling became a love of mine very young. In my spare time, I love to read, listen to music, dance, cook and put on concerts in my shower. (The concerts may not sound like much, but by the time I go on, it’s usually standing room only in there ;) )

Fiona: Tell us your latest news?

Right now, I’m working on so many new projects! I have a ton of really exciting things coming up so stay tuned!

Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?

BOOK REVIEW – “Brain Brilliance: The Key to Genius. Learn the Untold Secrets to Unlocking the True Power of Your Memory” by Walter E. Samuelson

Brain Brilliance: The Key to Genius. Learn the Untold Secrets to Unlocking the True Power of Your MemoryBrain Brilliance: The Key to Genius. Learn the Untold Secrets to Unlocking the True Power of Your Memory by Walter E. Samuelson

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Great read regarding how memory works and how to keep it working well.

I just finished reading “Brain Brilliance: Unlock the True Untapped Potential of Your Brain” book by Walter E. Samuelson this past week. The reason I picked this book up was because I was searching for a good read on memory retention and from the description and overview it seemed like it was worth a look.

I have the ability to handle many different tasks of differing skill requirements simultaneously (the true meaning of the word “multi-tasking”) but what I have been finding as I have gotten older (basically once I hit 40 and over the past six years to date) is remembering things has become harder and harder for me to do. It seemed that no matter how many times I repeated a date or something that I needed to remember I would still forget it. If I set my keys down in an unusual place in the house (rather than their default location) I wouldn’t be able to find them.

The book is a relatively short read at about 50 pages but it reviews information in topical segments like how memory works, how sleep and diet affect both long and short term memory, and it also give insight on lifestyle choices that can help you improve your memory.

Now that I’m done with the reading material from the book I am looking forward to putting some of the content to use.

The book is packed with good information and it will be something I refer back to time and again in reference manner as I put the practices to use.

The current Goodreads Giveaway for Another Sunset for TEN MORE SIGNED COPIES

I just kicked off this giveaway about 24 hours ago (the giveaway started at midnight on March 31st) and over the course of the day 300 people entered the giveaway.

My prior giveaway ran really well and was my best to date; I am hopeful over the holiday weekend that this one does at least as well. The prior giveaway pushed the book up to the 236th most requested book out of the 2,970 titles being offered (top 8%).

This current giveaway is up against 3,090 titles and the initial kickoff already has the title at #1,380 with none days to go so I am really encouraged.

Thank you again everyone for you interest in my book – Another Sunset
