Flesh Wounds

Thought I would share a little unedited excerpt from my September 15th release of, Flesh Wounds
I'm very excited about this book, as it is my first full length story that's not paranormal in nature.
I hope it will be received as well as my vampire novels, because I would truly like to continue expanding my horizons with different genres. Tell me what you think...

After five years away, Julia Benson has finally come home. Facing the painful memories awaiting her in the small Texas town is nothing compared the mess she'll make when she gets there. Dealing with the ripple affect leaving caused the ones she loved is just as hard as dealing with being abandoned by a father who wasn't everything she'd believed him to be. Dylan Banks was the boy from across the street who'd loved Julia since they were twelve. She was the only girl for him and the only one he couldn't have. Unable to repair that broken part of the girl he loved so much from afar, he now had a second chance to fill the void the only way he could… love her until she got it through her thick skull that not every man was like her father. Can love really repair all that has gone wrong in Julia's life or are some wounds just too deep to heal?

Excerpt:

Bright sunlight penetrated the sheer curtains of Julia Benson's bedroom window. The pillow over her head slid to the floor as she rolled over. Heat from the sun's intrusive rays warmed her face. Prying one eyelid open, she glared at the fuzzy green numbers on her clock radio.    "Seven–forty in the morning? Are you kidding me?" she grumbled as the loud echo of a lawnmower buzzed outside. "Who the hell mows grass on Saturday at the crack of dawn?"   She kicked the blanket off her feet and managed to stumble to the window. The hot Texas sun already baked against the pane and she shielded her eyes from the glare.    The lawn mower spat, sputtered, and came to a rickety halt. She moved the curtain away and peered down into the back yard where she watched a noticeably frustrated, tanned Adonis, slick back his shoulder length, black mane.    She rubbed her eyes to clarify the unexpected sight below. Beads of perspiration glistened across the inside of his bicep and trickled down around the side of a tapered waist that disappeared beneath a pair of low riding khaki cargo shorts.    Julia's gaze floated up from the thin treasure trail just above the silver button snap, and bumped over a ripped six pack, followed by a chest that you could bounce a quarter off of.    My, my. What do we have here?   He knelt next to the stalled mower and fiddled with the motor with a white t-shirt shoved in his back pocket. A well portioned specimen of a man, just the kind of sight any red blooded woman would die to see first thing in the morning.    But, this wasn't any morning and not just any red blooded woman. This was Julia Benson, fresh off the bus from nearly five years away at college, sleep deprived and in no mood for the loud ruckus of a push mower, even at the hands of the wondrous apparition in the back yard.   The engine backfired as the shirtless hunk yanked the nylon cord. It slapped against the metal as it recoiled.    He shook his head, stood up and kicked the small tire, moving the contraption several inches. His brows pinched with frustration and Julia noticed the dark blue vein pulsating in the side if his neck as he dragged the broken mower to the side of the house where he disappeared from sight.   She grabbed her terrycloth robe and slipped it over the oversized sleep shirt with puffy-painted kittens plastered on the front. Sliding on her fuzzy house shoes, she galloped downstairs in a huff.    "Mom, who's making all that noise outsi—" She stopped short as she rounded the corner to see her mother hand the handsome, half-dressed man a glass of orange juice.    "Dylan Banks, sweetheart," her mom replied with a cheerful smile.          "Morning, Jules," he said behind a refreshing sigh. "The juice hit the spot Ms. B." His baritone voice melted across her like warm brandy.    "Dylan?" Julia stepped back, surprised.    He wasn't the Dylan Banks she'd known since the second grade. He couldn't be the same boy she'd raced up and down the street, jumping over homemade ramps on their bikes. And, he certainly wasn't the Dylan who asked her to the eighth grade homecoming dance and gave her the hideous purple carnation that clashed with her pearl toned chiffon dress.    No, that boy was pale and thin with short, spiked hair. His nose would be buried in a sports magazine or he'd be parked on a sofa watching a football game, not standing behind a lawn mower with rippling muscles and a straight from the beach tan.    "It's been a minute, huh?" His mouth widened into a toothy smile, as he eyed her up and down.    Julia suddenly felt naked and would've probably looked better if she had been. She choked up the collar of her raggedy robe. "And then some," she replied as blood rushed to her face and settled on her cheeks with a singeing burn.     "You look great."    "Uh, thanks. So do you."    His t-shirt draped over his shoulder and a tingle sparked inside her stomach as she glanced over his beautiful physique one more time. Golden eyes against his coppery tanned skin shimmered like fiery orbs. His longer black hair likened him to a male model for Aéropostale rather than that kid from across the street. Had he always been this gorgeous?    "My mower broke, so I'm gonna have to use your old one in the garage, if you don't mind, Ms. B." He glanced back at Julia.   Julia leaned against the counter and continued to eye him, transfixed with wonder at how much he'd changed over the last few years.    Dylan's left brow arched ever so slightly, his jaw flexed taut. He folded his arms across his chest in a nervous manner and then turned his attention to her mother.    Carolyn Benson cleared her throat, breaking the spell that had rapt Julia's thoughts. "No problem. It's right where you left it," Carolyn replied. She settled against the sink counter and glanced back and forth between Dylan and Julia. "Do you need anything, Dylan? I have to run into town."   "No, ma'am. I'm fine." He smiled.    Yes, you are. An instant attraction sparked as Julia's heart fluttered. It had been so long since she'd seen him, who would have thought he would have filled out so nicely. Leaving home may have been more of a mistake than she had ever thought possible.    "Well, if you ladies will excuse me, I should get back to it." He nodded at them both and backed out of the kitchen. His smile faded as he glanced back at Julia, who hadn't spoken another word. "Um, later, Jules."   Julia shook off the scattered erotic thoughts that flooded her mind. "Oh, yeah… Uh… sure," she stuttered through the reply. Get a grip.   He shut the door behind him.    "Julia?" Her mom called out snapping her fingers in front of her face. "What was that?"   "I don't know." Julia fumbled with her robe and stared at the floor, mortified by her aberrant behavior. "I guess I just didn't recognize him." Or remember him looking like that.

Six Sentence Sunday

Today's Six Sentence Sunday comes from my upcoming release,Flesh Wounds...
Soft waves stirred in her stomach as Dylan slowly moved her hands away, then one by one, plucked open each button. Julia held her breath. He unfastened the top button, stood before her and slowly peeled the silk taffeta blouse from her shoulders. His eyes never left hers, his every movement, purposeful and steady. She stiffened, unsure if she should protest. Her gut told her to stop him, but something else, much deeper, begged her to wait.
Flesh Wounds will be available fromeXtasy BooksSeptember 15th.

Blood and Treasure

*NOTE* as a tribute to the pirates who light up our imagination, please enjoy the pics from Pirate's of the Caribbean...
Say it ain't so!!! Today's tasty treat is Jennifer Bray-Weber's last excerpt offering. It has been a pleasure having her share bits and pieces about her writing career, personal life and even lending us Zane Fox from Blood and Treasure ...which I must admit was my favorite day. Today may come as a close second, but believe me, it's not because she's leaving. In fact, if anything, it's because I now have an opportunity to invite her back as soon as she can squeeze us into her busy schedule.
Keep your fingers crossed that she'll agree. =^-^=
[image error] (Award-winning Novel) Although Lianna Whitney was gently bred, she must now empty slop buckets and fight off randy sailors in a seaport tavern to survive. One night, she unexpectedly comes into possession of a golden medallion. But when the man who left it with her is immediately murdered by soldiers of the Royal Navy, she's afraid to admit she has it. Unsure who to trust, she's caught up in crossfire between navy officers and a pirate captain, who, realizing she possesses the object he's been paid to find, whisks her away to his ship during the fight.
Privateer Captain Zane Fox is not interested in the mystical healing powers the medallion is said to hold, even though the legends claim it can bring a dying man back to life. He only plans to procure the medallion, drop the chit off at the next port where she'll be safe, and collect the money he was promised. However, as they fend off storms at sea and attempt to outrun the Royal Navy, the two are also fighting the attraction they feel for one another. But when they are captured, Zane must choose between recovering the medallion and saving Lianna from the noose. And soon it becomes clear to him that the medallion is not the only treasure worth risking his life for.

EXCERPT:
Zane pulled Lianna into a back alley, pinning her to the wall. He crushed his lips to hers, sweeping his tongue inside her mouth. A need for him pooled in her like liquid fire. She had never imagined wanting someone like this before. And she would have never before consented to abandoning her independence for a man. Yet there she stood, intertwined in a white-hot heat with a peculiar rogue she had only known a little more than a week, trusting her life to him. She was either as crazy as a loon or crazy in love.
She cupped his face in her hands just as she pulled away to peer up at him. She swore he could render her helpless with those searing blue eyes should he want to. And that would be all right. He took hold of her hands. "That was a very brave thing you did back there." His voice oozed husky and deep, like rich molasses."Thank—"Zane mashed her wrists together and tacked them over her head to the wall with one fisted hand. Confused, she frowned up at him."And very stupid.""What?" He was angry with her and that only ruffled her feathers. "How dare you chide me?"He lashed out at her irrationally. "You need to get over your fancy idea of taking on the world, lass.""Me?" She couldn't believe what she heard. She struggled against his grip. "What about the way you prance around like you own the whole damned Caribbean?" Lianna couldn't read Zane's expression in the dim light. But she sensed it. And it screamed deadly."I do own the whole damned Caribbean," he snarled. "I take liberty, power, and pleasure and boast satiety aplenty. It's all mine." The corners of his mouth twitched. Hooking his finger in her bodice, he peered down her valley."You egotistical rake.""Aye." His heated gaze slowly met hers again. "And it doesn't mean a thing without you, Lianna."He buried his lips into her neck, each smoldering kiss branding her. She let a moan escape. It frustrated her how his kisses just blew away her anger and doubt like ashes in the wind. She wanted to stay mad at him for his rebuke. But how could she when he followed up with a confession like that? Not to mention how he made her body feel so alive, so sensitive with his touch."You should've gotten on that boat," he mumbled, his lips skimming her skin.Thank you so much, Jennifer, by the way, Johnny asked to sit next to you!!    *NOTE* The extra Johnny Depp pics are a special thank you gift to Jennifer!! ;-)Jennifer Bray-Weber Links: http://www.jbrayweber.com/

Blood and Treasure

Guess what? Jennifer Bray-Weber has left us with another yummy excerpt. I have to say, pirates are giving the vampires a run for their money this week on Sealed with a Kiss . I'm sure we can handle it though, what do you all think? I'm not going to hem-haw around, so let's get this ship on the road...or water or ocean or whatever it takes to get to the excerpt.....

EXCERPT:"That was quite a display out there." He let on that he had seen more than he should've allowed. Indeed, he probably had watched her from the time she set foot on the ship's waist, thoroughly amused by her chaffing his men.She put the cool rag to her eye. "Well, one does what one must to stay alive. Got to show them who's boss."Zane leaned against the dresser, watching her dab the wet rag to her eye. "Aye, those ropes are vicious." He chuckled."Wretch.""How is your eye?" He pulled her hand away and winced. "Oh."Wonderful, she thought. My eye looks like a rotten goose egg and he's grimacing. She couldn't fathom why she would care how she looked to him. But she did."Why should you give it a moment's thought?" She stood, squaring off at him. "Are you not ready to dispatch of me?""You are still in possession of the medallion," he said."And now you have come to relieve me of my burden." Her reply came crisp and dry."I should be most pleased to unburden you of all your encumbrances." He smiled wickedly as he hooked his finger into her bodice, tugging her nearer to him.Lianna squirmed under the warmth that seemed to suddenly manifest in her lower belly. He drifted so near. His musky skin filled her senses, mesmerizing her. He stared at her in a way that no man had before. Hungry. Keenly hungry. She wanted to scream, break free from him, but she couldn't move. He possessed her. Lightly, he skimmed the back of his fingertips across her cheek. Desire heated a rhythmic pounding deep within her. His lips were slightly parted and oh, so inviting. She wished to taste them. He bent his head and she closed her eye, the other one already sealed shut, anticipating his kiss. Instead, he deftly reached into her dress, pulling out the medallion by its chain. He stepped back and smugly held up the pendant.Lianna stood, openmouthed, in shock. He hadn't kissed her. She was such a buffoon. A complete fool. He lured her in so he could get the pendant. And she fell for it. Her cheeks burned. She was mortified. Mortified and growing angrier by the second."Scoundrel. You despicable scoundrel," she snarled."Now, Miss Whitney, let's not resort to name calling. You had no intentions of handing The Serpent over to me without a fight. I merely saved you from hurting yourself further." Blood and Treasure

Jennifer Bray-Weber is still with us this week and today she'll share an excerpt from her novel, Blood and Treasure . We've had a lot of fun getting to know her and even more fun getting to know the hero of Blood and Treasure , Zane Fox.
Today, we're diving right in to the story. So, let's get this part started...

(Award-winning Novel) Although Lianna Whitney was gently bred, she must now empty slop buckets and fight off randy sailors in a seaport tavern to survive.
EXCERPT:"They went that way." Her irritable tone masked her fear. She pointed in the direction the others had gone. When the chiseled man made no movement, she placed her hands on her hips. "Well? Did you not hear me? Or are you just vacant?" She pointed again. "That way."Clearly amused by her audacity to speak to him in such a manner, the man raised an eyebrow. "Nay, sweet lady."His deep voice momentarily immobilized her with its rich timbre."There is no need to follow chase," he said. "You have what I seek." He flaunted a devilish grin.Lianna widened her eyes. "I beg your pardon, sir, but that is something I'm not willing to give up so easily." May a bolt of lightning strike her dead first. In a swift move, she reached for a frying skillet that lay on the nearby counter. "You'll have to kill me before I'll let you lay a hand on me." She swung at the intruder. He hopped back dodging the skillet. "Careful. Your vanity may cost you dearly. 'Tis not your body I want." He paused, musing to himself. "Well, that's not entirely true. A woman's vanity never stopped me before.""Of course." Her words were laden with sarcasm. His smile disappeared. "Hand over the medallion.""I don't know what you are talking about." Lianna remembered what the thief told her minutes before, to give the medallion to no one."Aye, I think you do. It's only fitting that Basile would find a woman to hide it upon. Now do yourself a favor, lass, and hand it over." He took a step forward."Stay away from me!" She readied her skillet for another swing. Someone charged into the kitchen, this time from the tavern."Zane!"Startled, Lianna looked over her shoulder. In a beat, the armed man grabbed the skillet from her grip. She cursed once more. This time aloud.Zane cocked his eyebrow again. The blond man who had passed through the kitchen moments ago said, "They caught Basile down the street in the alley. He didn't have it.""And what of Basile?" Zane asked, tossing the skillet to the corner."Dead." The desperate man, dead? Uh-oh. That cannot be good. Lianna tried to appear indifferent.Zane turned toward her. "It won't take them long to realize you have it.""This lass has the medallion?" The blond smirked and nodded, understanding something which obviously she did not."Aye, this leaves us no choice."The blond opened the rear door and peered out. "I'd be willing to wager we're going to regret this.""A fool's bet." Zane scooped Lianna up and threw her over his shoulder.
...aaaand naturally, Jennifer chose to leave off HERE! You know, I gotta say, the next best thing to a sexy vampire hauling me out of a room over his shoulder, would have to be exiting with a PIRATE doing the same...and hopefully he'd toss in a playful little slap on the rear for good measure. LOL! Tomorrow, Jennifer will have one last gift for us, and just as I'd hoped, it will be another yummy excerpt. Of course, if you're really excited about it, you could always hop over to Amazon and grab the WHOLE book... after all, why settle for teasers? To see more of what's going on in Jennifer's world, check out her website... http://www.jbrayweber.com/

Zane Fox

Today is quite a special day for me and will go down in history as the day my literary vessel was boarded and my booty…err…blog was pillaged by a pirate. Zane Fox , the sexy privateer from Blood and Treasure , has taken the helm and will guide us through some of his adventures set on the high seas. My goodness, is he beautiful or what? [image error]

Welcome aboard, Zane, it's a pleasure to meet you. Being a pirate must be about as thrilling an occupation, or dare I say, lifestyle as it gets. If you don't mind, would you share with us a little bit about your world? My name is Zane Fox and I am the captain of the feared pirate ship, Rissa. Mine is a world full of danger. Enemies and betrayal are rampant. The sea, she's temperamental. Drink, battle, and the fine art of profiteering is what it's all about. They call me a pirate, but I prefer the term opportunist.
As do I. Living a life of danger and adventure has probably left you with many a tale, and I'm sure you have more than your share. If it won't break any pirate codes could you share the most interesting thing that's happened to you? Absconding with saucy tavern wench, Lianna. That woman has turned the devil against me and lay me with curses and pleasures aplenty. But I'll tell you true, I'm quite fond of her.
Lianna, huh? I'm sure she's something else. Tell us, did you do anything special after your first adventure? Does a mutiny constitute as an adventure?  If so, I toasted to freedom and threw back many celebratory drinks.          Maybe next time you'll come ashore in a port nearby and my friends and I could join you for a pint or two. Visiting other ports in distant lands must bring interesting experiences, which makes me wonder, if you could pull your author into your world, what do you think would happen?  I wouldn't pull her into my world. We have enough sharp-tongued women causing trouble here and she'd surely try to take over as captain. No doubt I'd have to hide all the rum, too.
Knowing Jennifer, she probably would do just that. She sure would make a gorgeous pirate, wouldn't she? She's one of those people who would blend right in if she were to travel back in time. I could definitely see her as a pirate. Personally, I would love a chance to run a real, honest to goodness brothel. LOL!If you could time travel, where would you go? I wouldn't go back in time. I've learned to live with my regrets. But I'm quite interested in your world. I'd like to see what this internet is about. And I'm most interested in Google Earth. I can only imagine how much easier carousing around the Caribbean would be with a map like that. Oh, and I'd like to meet this fellow Johnny Depp. I understand he's an actor famous for portraying a pirate captain. I'd fancy being the judge of that.
Johnny is quite the pirate…ahem, on the silver screen, that is, which is another cool way for land lubbers like me to enjoy pirate adventures. I'm sure you could teach him a thing or two, but as a method actor, I think he could capture the character as well as he has Capt. Jack Sparrow. I know, he's tickled my fancy a time or two and whet my appetite for pirates. What other characters would you say have influenced you? My best mate, Blade Tyburn.  As boys, we suffered through the same misfortune. As young lads, we experienced the same taste for freedom and the skills to achieve it. As young men, we shared the same love of the sea, enterprise, and women, lots of women. We still do. We know each others strengths and weakness, and when one falters, the other beats the shit out of him.
That's what friends are for, right? What motivates you to continue on these adventures? I'm a pirate, love. 'Tis what we do. Life is all about the thrill of the chase. When I win a quarry, and I always win, there's nothing more rewarding than enjoying the spoils.
Tehehe! He called me, love…*twirls hair around finger, bites bottom lip and sighs deeply… ahhhh!I could listen to you talk all day, Zane, but I'm sure our guests would rather I keep this moving along. Getting back why to we're here, perhaps I should ask another question. What's your most favorite thing to do?  Outsmarting my enemies, of course.
I bet! Wink wink! You seem to be a man who has his stuff together. Have you ever lost control?More times than I care to admit. But these days I'm working hard to control my temper. Why do you ask? Did my crew put you up to this?               I've taken a vow of secrecy in an attempt to earn passage on a future voyage, so… I'll never tell. There are, however, some things you could share, and I promise, you're secrets would be safe with me. What was the best sexual experience you've had? (Yes, me hearties, I went there!)Well now, lass. That's a bit personal, isn't it? But I'll play along.  'Twas the first time I took Lianna. I can't put my finger on it, but that little spitfire, she did something to me. Something that no other woman had ever done . . . Enough! Enough of these privy questions.
Fair enough! You've gone above and beyond the call of duty, and by now, I'm sure there are a number of women hoping you and Lianna don't work out. As for me, I have thoroughly been swept off my feet and am very flattered to have had the privilege of getting to know you. Thank you so very much for stopping by, Zane. I wish you all the best.
Come back tomorrow for another look at Blood and Treasure as Jennifer Bray-Weber shares and excerpt.

Jennifer Bray-Weber

It's not often I have an opportunity to host an author with whom I've shared a meal...okay so it wasn't an entire meal, but the spread at our local Northwest Houston RWA chapter meetings are pretty yummy!! And rarely do I get to host the "Prez" of that same RWA chapter... until TODAY!!!
I first met Jennifer Bray-Weber while a guest at my first chapter meeting in... hmmm, let me see... I want to say the spring of 2009. I believe that was the year, although, since she was very pregnant for most of it, she would recall the year much better.
This tall, blonde and gorgeous lady has a glowing personality that comes through loud and clear in her books and I think after you have met her and peeked at her novel, Blood and Treasure , you will agree!!

Now that I have Jennifer in the hot seat this week, I can finally ask her…. How did you feel when you got your first publishing contract?
Like a cackling, maniacal crazed woman. I had just released my indie published novel when I received the call offering a two book deal. I was a mess. I'd finally decided to take matters into my own hands when opportunity in the form of a reputable publisher knocked. Yep – I threw back a pretty stiff drink and wallowed in the irony of it all.I imagine that was one heck of a swig, too! We all have our own style of writing. How do you categorize yourself: pantser or plotter? Panster, definitely. I only know bits and pieces of what might happen in a story. My pirates and their women are obstinate creatures, always surprising me, as does the weather. I never know what's coming next.
It's nice to know we share the 'Pantser' gene. It doesn't matter how the story's born, as long as it's a great one, right? What makes a book great in your eyes?  The story. I want to be swept away in a torrent of adventure and love to someplace that could never be in real life. It's like when you go to the movies. There is this big screen that engulfs you, sending you to a different place and time. Nothing in the outside world matters for the next two hours. If a story can hold my attention like that, well, that's worth gushing about to my friends.
I wholeheartedly agree. You mentioned movies. Some may find inspiration from watching old movies or maybe even a newer one, but what would you say influences your writing? And why? Music. Not just any music. Rock music. I hear some of the best poetic, well-written lyrics from rock music. Songs can put me in certain moods, reminds me of emotions I have experienced, or prompts a storyline. Of course, sometimes, I just like to head bang.
I've been known to turn to music from time to time as well. A lot of writers probably do the same. As a whole, we're often times alike, but for every similarity there must be ways we differ. How about sharing with us one thing readers don't know about you. I was once the manager of a handful of rock bands, been bitten by a poisonous snake, and have made millions as a lingerie model. Okay, maybe not that last bit.
I believe all of it. Wink, Wink! Besides gearing up for next year's Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition, what are you working on now? I'm in edits with A Kiss in the Wind, the second novel in my Romancing the Pirate series. It is scheduled to be released next spring with Carina Press. Three more in the series are in the works. I hope to have a pirate novella released by the end of the year as well. You may have noticed I have a thing for pirates. Arrgh!
I have noticed and I am so glad you share that thing you have about pirates with the rest of the land lubber's world. Speaking of sharing, that reminds me to ask about the yummy parts of a pirate…nooo, not those parts… well not entirely. LOL! I'm referring to the scenes those parts are in—the love scenes. Are love scenes easy/difficult to write? Love scenes are easy for me to write. I admit, sometimes it's hard to find the right historically accurate word that doesn't make me want to cringe or put me into a fit of giggles. But the scene itself, the actions and reactions, the atmosphere, the emotions, it all seems to flow with no trouble.
Yeah, I completely understand. I mean, when we read about the first mate standing at attention with a hearty salute, we wanna know for sure he's paying respect to the upper ranks, not preparing to swab the deck of a willing wench. See, even my attempt at purple-pros is embarrassing. I should find a good place to hide. How about you, if you could be anywhere right now, where would you be? This is a no-brainer. Relaxing on a secluded beach in St. Lucia, where the water kisses the powdery sand, the breeze slips through the lush trees, and the warm sun dapples the water. Heck. Any Caribbean island paradise will do.
Ahhh! Yessss.... Ahem! I wandered off there for a moment just thinking about it. Thanks for the little break. Don't worry though, my readers here at Sealed with a Kiss, are quite accustomed to my short attention span. I beg their forgiveness all the time. JIf you had the opportunity to say one thing to your readers, what would that be? Thank ye fer yer support, mates! I raise a cup of rum to ye.
And, I'm sure it would be the good stuff, not that grog you'd share with the bosun or powder monkeys. Now, for one of my favorite questions…After you've filled your gut with plenty of whiskey, ale and grub, what would you prefer to share with the Captain of your ship? (AKA, Mr. Jennifer Bray-Weber) JWhipped Cream, Strawberry Sauce or Chocolate Syrup?  Ooh. Tough question. Can't I have all three? No? Well, I'm a clean freak, and I can't help but think of the stains left by strawberry sauce and chocolate syrup. So, whipped cream it is! LOL!
Not exactly galley friendly without refrigeration, but if you use it right away, it should do the trick. As if I hadn't poked around in your business enough, I have to know one more thing, what's the craziest/sexiest thing you have ever done in public? I plead the fifth due to incriminating myself beyond repair. Besides, some things are best left in the Don't Ask, Don't Tell file. However, I will admit I once pulled over on the side of a busy freeway pretending to have car trouble to get the attention of a guy. Crazy and dangerous. But it worked. J
Well, we are so glad you lived to tell the tale. I sincerely thank you for sitting still in the hot seat long enough for our interrogation. Tomorrow, we'll have a special guest… Zane Fox…. Yep, that tasty privateer will be dropping his anchor in our lagoon! Sigh!

Six Sentence Sunday #5

[image error] Welcome back to my Six Sentence Sunday party!!This week's sentences come from my latest release, book #3 in my Blood Hunter Trilogy, The Return!!This scene was between secondary characters, Jacobe, a reader favorite from book #1, and Mena, the not so likable misunderstood vamp from book #2. Hope you like it....Jacobe jerked her to him and slid his arm around her waist, clutching her tight. "You've done your sire's bidding for far too long. Now, it's time to serve a master who knows how to love you." Jacobe's eyes flashed silver as deep blue and green veins dug into the tender skin around his eyes.He leaned in and kissed her, biting her bottom lip as he withdrew....Her knees buckled and her chest heaved with growing desire.

TEN Things To Make ya' Go Hmmm?

1) Why is it that light bulbs never go out until you decide to plan ahead and buy more light bulbs putting you right back where you were before you bought the extra bulbs?

2) Why is that although we live in a technologically advanced society, we can't understand the the order taker at McDonald's drive-thru?

3) Why do people speed up on the freeway...AFTER  you've passed them?

4) Why is it that Wal Mart lowers their prices daily, but nothing is free yet?

4) Why is it that just when I'm old enough to do all the crazy stuff I wanted to do when I was a kid, I'm too damn tired to do it?

5) Why is it ATM's have Braille on the keys, but not on the screen?

6) Why is it that the guy who's just running into the grocery store to buy a loaf of bread gets the best parking spot causing me to have to push my overloaded cart all the way to the back of the lot dragging four kids behind me?

7) Why is that the "lottery" in most states was created to help fund public schools, yet most schools are so underfunded they have to by classroom sets of books instead of each kid being issued their own? Where's all that money? I sure haven't won any of it! Have you?

8) Why is it that on the one day you're in a hurry and stop real quick for gas, is the day you and the gas station attendant have a parting of ways and you spend fifteen minutes talking to him through a glass window using hand signals neither of you understand?

9) Why is it that cops can run red lights just to ticket someone for not using the proper turn signal? Shouldn't we be able to write them a ticket?

10) Why is it that brain cells come and go, but fat cells are forever?

Just a reminder.... If the world didn't suck, we'd all fall off!!!
