Time Management

Everyone struggles with finding enough time to do the things that need to be done. I know I have had my share of scraping blocks out of my daily life to work full time, be a full-time student, interact with family members, add quality time for my pup, and find me time.

Time management is all about discipline and setting priorities. Some ask me, how do you do it?

My priorities are set by what i...

If we were having coffee – I’d tell you…

I have no complaints.

The holidays are here and before we know it, the New Year will be here. I am looking to 2018 to be another great year. 2017 ushers out one of my most significant accomplishments to date. I received notification that I will be attending my first graduation since 1983. May of 2018, I will be given my Business Associates degree. For the past 30 years I have wanted a college degree, and now I am finally getting one. But I’m not stopping at the Associate level. I am cont...

OMG – #MarketBasket has their own Website

Have you been to the new Market Basket website?

I always wished this store had a website where I could view their weekly ads. The site I used to visit was created and maintained by customers. That site was slow and clunky but what do you expect when it was created on a shoestring budget.
Market Basket has their own site now and I highly recommend you check it out. It loads fast and the images are easy to read.

Look out Amazon – Market Basket just might gain some ground in the food industry. ...

I’m a Grateful Person #gratitude

Every November we take a moment to either express our gratitude or our thankfulness. But like the saying says, Happy people are actually grateful, it is the other way around. Those who are grateful are happy.

For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food, for love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

I am grateful for everything in my life.

Such as:

the support of my family the job I have with my employer the f...

A writing comrade from New Hampshire is releasing her newest book on Friday, November 10. She writes Urban Fantasy, science fiction, and military romance. Since she is looking for help getting the word out about her latest book I agreed to give her a bit of my blog space.

Let me introduce DL Jackson as she explains how her latest story was inspired. [image error]

Employees do Crave Feedback: Just not always the same kind as everyone else

One of my favorite topics for #microlearning, feedback! Give constructive feedback, not negative feedback. #elevate2017 pic.twitter.com/oZtIlANomh

Not everyone wants the same kind of feedback either and many don’t like recognition, instead they may only want acknowledgment.

Quote For The Day 11-3-2017

keelaa looking out windowI love this quote.
I recently had to make the choice between excelling in psych and failing stats. I chose to do well in both classes which weren’t easy to do. Needless to say, I am passing both classes with pretty good grades.

A Writer's Life

“To say you have no choice is to relieve yourself of responsibility.”

Book of the Month for October 2017

The book that made my read pile for October is The First-Time Manager by Loren B. Belker, Jim McCormick, Gary S. Topchik. Many times, new managers, supervisors, and lead-persons are thrown into a leadership position with no idea of how they are supposed to manage. According to The First-Time Manager that is known as the sink or swim approach which makes this book an excellent selection for that newbie manager.
