Hey, I just finished destroyer of light, and to say I'm an emotional wreck is a complete understatement. It was amazing!! Omg the character development killed me in the best possible way! I was just wondering, roughly, when will the next book be out?

I’m not entirely sure when The Good Counselor will be out, BUT I am currently writing it. Thank you so much for reading Destroyer of Light! Now that you’ve recovered (I hope), can I bug you to leave a review?

Receiver of Many

rumbellebookclub:

Just finished the book yesterday!  Was very busy but got to read all of it finally :).  This was a pretty amazing story.  I was impressed by how much research was done for this story.  From what I understand,  their take on Hades is classically the way he was portrayed.  I’ve also read that Persephone was the one people really had to watch out for, and it seems the book did touch on that with how she was born to rule the Underworld.

Also, of course,  I enjoyed the smut aspect of it! There was a lot and it was written really beautifully.  A lot of thought was put into those very intimate moments and I loved it.

I also liked how the story also showed what the other characters in the story were up to, like Demeter and Thanatos for instance.  It was really nice.

Overall this was a really enjoyable story and I am definitely going to be reading the sequel!

Receiver of Many review

rumbellebookclub:

If I had to describe this book in one word it would be magnificent! I was excited for this book because I love Greek mythology and romances!

Rachel Alexander did a wonderful job of creating worlds and characters through intricate detail and emotion. She took two classic figures (Hades and Persephone) and made them her own without sacrificing their core stories. She also did a wonderful job with Demeter, Zeus, and all the other characters.

It had been a while since I read a book that just sucked me in (been trying to get through the Song of Ice and Fire books). I finished this book in 3 days and even stayed up late reading it!

I love the relationship between Demeter and Kore! She truly loves her daughter and toucan feel her anguish when she is away from her. Aidon and Persephone are such an amazing couple! I love them so much! They start off rocky, but they make it so it’s not entirely like an arranged marriage. The love between them is so true and they are the perfect team! Can’t say enough good things about them! I also like how we get to see Demeter’s life and how she continues on. And her and Triptolemus.

I loved the story and how everything flowed together nicely! I also loved the smut

As far as modern times, would Aidon have gotten a haircut and kept it, gotten a haircut then grown it back out, or just said "forget it" and kept his hair where it was?

Well, we’re soon to get into Classical Greece, where men wore their hair short. I don’t see him changing it up then, so he probably wouldn’t change it for the modern era either.
