Krsna’s wholesale killing
You cannot stop war and go on killing animals. That is not possible. There will be so many accidents for killing. The wholesale kill. When Krsna kills, He kills wholesale. When I kill — one after another. But when Krsna kills, they assemble all the killers and kill.

Philosophy is for fools
We have no stock except chanting. But why do we talk of philosophy? Because the fools want to talk of philosophy. Otherwise, there is no need of talking philosophy. Simply by chanting, everything is complete.

Chanting will rectify the world situation
If one can chant the holy name of God that will purify the whole situation as it is being proved by the Krishna consciousness movement all over the world. Therefore my suggestion is especially in India we should organize the chanting of the Hare Krishna Maha-mantra village to village, town to town. In Europe and America I am doing this regularly by sending our men by buses and cars and it is appreciated all over the world.

Chanting: The first regulative principle
The first regulative principle is that one must chant the Hare Krsna maha-mantra loudly enough so that he can hear himself, and one must vow to chant a fixed number of rounds.

Dangerous debts
In India, according to Vedic civilization, one is very much afraid of taking loan from others, because he has conviction, “If I do not pay, then in my next life I’ll have to pay many times. So I must liquidate my debt.” That’s a fact. If you take one cent from somebody else without doing something good to him or without exchanging something, then you are debtor, and you have to pay him with interest and compound interest. That is the law of karma.

Avoiding famine, pestilence, and war
Whenever there is unwanted population these three things will naturally, by nature’s course will appear — famine, pestilence, and war — and the population will be finished. So there was some unwanted population at that time also for which Krsna arranged the war, battlefield of war. Battlefield of war. So we have to follow. If we want very good population, very good generation, then we have to follow the principles of Bhagavad-gita.

“Chant, chant, chant,” “Can’t, can’t, can’t”
One old man and his wife, sitting together. The wife is requesting the husband, old husband, “Chant, chant, chant,” and the husband is replying: “Can’t, can’t, can’t.” This cartoon we have seen. So this is the… He will say three times: “Can’t, can’t, can’t.” But not “Krsna, Krsna, Krsna.”

All pure devotees
A pure devotee is he who loves Krishna, without any material desire. People are generally engaged in karma. Karma means work and get the result and enjoy life. And jnana, jnana means speculating process to understand the Absolute Truth. So one who does not indulge in speculating habit, neither tries to gain something by his work, but simply engages himself in the service of the Lord, he is called a pure devotee. Such pure devotees are very rare. But by the Grace of Krishna, practically all the devotees and disciples who have kindly joined me, they are, their symptoms are pure devotees. Even if they have got some ulterior desire, that will be removed very soon, because they have taken to the pure process of Krishna Consciousness.

Using sandalwood as burning fuel
Even in the human form of life they are also trying for the same thing as cats and dogs are trying. The cats and dogs, they are also trying to find out where it is, food, where sleeping comfort, where sex life and where defense. If the human form of life is also utilized for this purpose, pravrtti-marga, then it is, as I was talking in the park, it is just like using sandalwood for burning fuel.
There is distinction even in wood. There are so many jungle wood, we can use it for cooking. But if the sandalwood, which is so valuable, if we do not know what is the value of sandalwood, if we use it for cooking and burning… Similarly, if we use this human form of life exactly like the cats and dogs, simply for sense gratification, then we are committing suicide.

A devotee’s vision of suffering
When there is suffering given by Krsna, a devotee does not take seriously suffering. A devotee thinks, “It is the favor of Krsna that he has put me into suffering.” They never see suffering as suffering. It is favor of Krsna. That is devotee’s vision. It is exactly like a son who knows his father well. If the father slaps, the son never protests. He knows that “It is good for me.” Similarly, a devotee is never disturbed when there is suffering given by Krsna.
