Old... Old Stories

I cleaned out my car the other day and found old stories I'd mailed to myself years ago.  The oldest one is from 2001.  I know at least 3 of them I have on my old computer, but the 4th I have no clue what it's about.  I'm kind of excited to open it.  Maybe I might transcribe it and put it up.

Why Not Me?

I just got an email about the nominees for the 9th Annual Hurston/Wright Legacy Award.  I looked it over, checked out one of the prior winners and I don't mean to brag on myself, but I'm at least as good a writer as her, so why not me?  The horror genre doesn't get the recognition it deserves.  There are a lot of excellent authors and a lot of excellent novels that don't get praised.  And the reasoning is so arbitrary.  Novelists like Stephen King write 'popcorn' instead of 'serious...

Following My Own Advice

Now that I'm on the verge of publication I've begun contacting all the independent bookstores that feed into USA Today's Bestseller list.  I need to update the list as I've found one of the independents has been acquired by Borders and a few of the chains have either been acquired or gone out of business.

 

But I'm just waiting on replies now as to how easy or how difficult it is to get my book in their store.  I know there's going to be some kind of split, but if I can crack that top 100 I...

Media Kit

I just got done posting my media kit on my website.  It could use a little tweeking, I'm sure, but I think it looks good.  As I get more ideas for it I'll add or take away, but that's what's going out to whomever I send it to.
