Wanna Get Into Greeting Cards?

I actually submitted to this a few years ago.  It's a real site, but I've never seen their cards anywhere (that I know of).  But to anyone interested and wants to do the leg work to their satisfaction that the place is legit, Blue Mountain is taking submissions for greeting cards.  Here's their post from Craig's List:

Blue Mountain Arts is interested in reviewing writings suitable for publication on greeting cards. We are looking for highly original and creative submissions on friendship, family, special occasions, positive living, and other topics one person might want to share with another person. Submissions may also be considered for inclusion in book anthologies. We pay $300 per poem for all rights to publish it on a greeting card and $50 if your poem is used only in an anthology. To request a copy of our writer's guidelines (which include contact/submission information), please send a blank e-mail to writings@sps.com with "Send Me Guidelines" in the subject line, or write us at: Blue Mountain Arts, Inc. Editorial Department P.O. Box 1007 Boulder, CO 80306. You can also visit our Web site at www.sps.com.

Where's Paul? He's on County Road

County Road was a story I was immensely proud of.  I suppose I still am, haven't read it in a long time.  But I just dug this one up and put it in the slush-o pile.  It isn't horror, though.  I have no clue what the inspiration was.

Venue Change!

I just got a call about my book signing on December 18.  It's not going to be at Urban Network and it won't necessarily be at that time.  It's been moved to the Motor City Java House.  As soon as I have a new date I'll post.

Speaking Engagement

I don't know what it entails, exactly, but I may be speaking at the Pontiac public library.  They like to have a fiction and non-fiction author once a month and someone's looking into having me there sometime in the first quarter of next year.

Canada

I am around the corner from putting the finishing touches on a signing in Canada.  Only a matter of matching up the schedules, but it should be sometime in January.

The River

I found a collection of poems for a chapbook I was trying to put together a few years back.  Way back in 2006 when I was still heavily into poetry I wrote 13 or so themed poems.  Only 1 or 2 of them has seen the light of day as they turned out way more personal than I imagined.

I just got stuck and wasn't able to do anything with them so they went into a file and were promptly forgotten.  I think I might be ready to put the finishing touches, maybe I can even polish up a few of the others that didn't make the original cut.  We'll see...

Goners

Got the title for my eBook. It will be called Goners. I'm formatting now. Shouldn't Word 2007 be easier than 2003?

NoNaNoWriMo

I've wanted to do it for years and the opportunity has passed me by again. Maybe I'll just declare next month my own NaNoWriMo.
