Time for Christmas, Almost!

I feel like this wolf, running and running and running to keep up. And it's cold! But he's probably having fun. Though I must say that I feel great! The kitchen is done!!! And my computer is fixed! And I'm working diligently on edits to The Wolf and the SEAL and I'm hoping to have them done over Christmas.
My kitchen is BEAUTIFUL! I couldn't be more pleased with it! I'm going to take pictures later and post them later. I got up at 4:30 to work on The Wolf and the SEAL!
Decorations are done, food's ready for the Christmas meal, and now all I need to do is clean! Oh, and my daughter's boyfriend fixed my computer finally!!! And several components have been upgraded. They'll bring it over Christmas Eve.
Are you all ready for Christmas? Might as well be. It's coming no matter what!!!! :) Have a super Sunday! Mine is going to be the greatest!!

Books-A-Million Was A Wash-Out

I feel like this wolf, running and running and running to keep up. And it's cold! But he's probably having fun. Though I must say that I feel great! The kitchen is done!!! And my computer is fixed! And I'm working diligently on edits to The Wolf and the SEAL and I'm hoping to have them done over Christmas.
But the Books-A-Million signing was a wash-out.
Three times I've been scheduled for a signing. The first time, they didn't know I was coming. No announcements, nothing. So they hastily set up a table and were very nice about it, but it should have clued me in.
Fast forward three years, and we're bumped from our November book signing. So no signing then. Then it's rescheduled for yesterday. I arrive. No one's there. Not the other two authors. No table set up. No sign up. Nothing.
I talked to a clerk. She said there was no signing scheduled. Great. I have no one to call to verify that I was there on the right date, at the right time, at the right store. We have 3 book stores. So I get my groceries and go home and wait for the plumber to get my water running in the kitchen. And check my emails at home and find out that yep, right time, right date, right store.
Today, I learn the other two authors arrived right on time, (I was early because I had just gotten off work, grabbed a quick lunch and headed over there--shopping traffic was a nightmare), and no table, no signing. But by the time the other authors arrived, the clerks figured out that there was supposed to be a signing.
By the time I learned that it was the right time in my email, I still didn't know if the other authors had said they couldn't make it and there was to be no signing. Even so, I couldn't have made it back in from out in the country in time to make it worthwhile.
Moral of the story?
Always call them WAY ahead of time and talk to someone in charge.
Anyway, my books had a special display on the table.
My kitchen is BEAUTIFUL! I couldn't be more pleased with it! I'm going to take pictures later and post them later. I got up at 4:30 to work on The Wolf and the SEAL!

Discombobulated!

First, that is the snake of stress...just to let you know!!! :) I'd been doing really well, keeping up with everything, but this week I'm totally discombobulated. Last night, I came home after work and was waiting for the plumber to come and put in the sink, and he had to leave to get parts (which took an hour and a half and made it even later at night---but I have to say the guys are wonderful about doing this for me after work like this) but I so wanted to crash.
Do you ever feel that way? That you can barely stay awake? See, if I were a wolf, I'd sleep. *sigh* But I had to get the sink put in no matter what. And that's the problem with the last few nights. I had to stay up to work two of the nights. And one of the nights we went to the premier showing of True Grit, and two of the nights I stayed up until nearly midnight helping my daughter study for the GRE. And the real trouble is I CAN'T sleep in. I'm not able to anyway, but I had workman coming early too.
*bigger sigh*
Talk about burning the candle at both ends. Now, if I could rest in, since I can't sleep in...ever, Saturday, it would help. But nope, I have to go to work in the morning, have to do a book signing, get groceries, and then for the first time this week, I can really crash. And hopefully not in a bad way!!!
So, what I'm trying to say is that's the reason I'm so discombobulated this week. I was late on reporting the SciFi Guy's posting, and Castles and Guns, and well, all I've got to say is that I'm hoping by next week I'll be more on track. I'm hoping. :)
I'm at Castles and Guns!
So if you have a moment, drop by and say hi! :)
Oh, and I'm cold...I'm sure if I had a wolf to snuggle up to, I wouldn't be though! :) I'm rethinking the fact that I have no workable heat pump in half the house and don't have to replace it until next summer.... argh...

Have a super Saturday! I'll let you know tomorrow if the signing was a success or a weekend before Christmas disaster! :)

Work, Work, and More Work....

Every night after work (even last night after I got home at 9:30 PM) and every morning before work, I've been helping my daughter study for the GRE. So I'm behind, behind, behind on everything. The folks who are doing the kitchen will be here shortly to finish the tile work on the walls (grouting), and then I've got to get a plumber to put the sink back in. Argh.
No luck after three calls, so called the guy who does the yard periodically and he's coming both to pick up the old stove and put the sink back in after I get off work tonight. Woohoo!!!
I'm here today. Alaine actually posted this last night, which was great! So if you have a chance, drop by and say hi!
Alaine-Queen of the Happy Endings!
I'm trying to get more Christmas cards off--*sigh* Christmas is getting so close, it's scary!
And tomorrow I have to work and go to a book signing.
I'm hoping I will have the before and after pictures of the kitchen up tomorrow. :)
Have a super great Friday! I'll be going in late this morning while I wait for the folks to finish up the tile, making up my hours on Saturday.
So Monday will before here way before I'm ready! And I hope to get the newsletter off on Sunday, maybe before!
TGIF!

A Ghost of a Chance at Love--SOLD!!!

Set in the 19th Century Salado, Texas and Waco areas, A Ghost of a Chance is a time travel western romance. :)
Time travels are my favorite kind of stories and Salado has its share of real ghost stories and real outlaws who actually stayed at the Stagecoach Inn, known back then as the Shady Villa Inn. So it seemed the perfect place to set the story.
I love visiting Salado, 45 minutes from Waco, and always wondered what it would be like if a woman somehow found herself back in old-time Salado and what she do about it. But it's not just a case of being a fish out of water. Everyone thinks she belongs there. Even though she's supposed to be dead. :)
Date of publication to be determined later. But in the meantime, I just wanted to let you all know--A Ghost of a Chance at Love is coming!!!

True Grit

First, I'm at the SciFi Guy's blog today. Yesterday was so hectic what with having to take my car in to have it inspected on my lunch hour and then going to see True Grit and having dinner with my daughter and her boyfriend after work that I didn't have a chance to get back on the Internet. I'm also at
Thanks to Doug for having me! And for Fresh Fiction also!
We went to see True Grit last night, and the girl truly had true grit. We laughed through much of the movie, except there were some gruesome parts, and it was interesting the references to Waco, Texas, since we live here, and Fort Smith, Arkansas since we used to live there and nearby in eastern Oklahoma, close to where the Choctaws live.
Warning though--the epilogue was totally lame. Which truly was a shame. It reminded me of a couple of romance books where the author adds an epilogue: And then they got married and she had lots of children, then grandchildren, and he died, and she lived on, and on, and on and...oh my gosh, end it already where they have come to term with their differences and want to declare they are going to be together forever. We don't need to know every detail of their lives up until the end, just like we don't need to know all the details of someone's lives before the story begins. The end was totally anti-climatic.
But we did have fun until then and Jeff Bridges gave a starring role as Rooster Cogburn! And the girl did a terrific job as a spunky heroine--she reminded me of one of my werewolf heroines. She would not give in or give up! :) (If I don't mention the dumb ending again!)
Note, the patch is on the wrong eye, if you watched the original True Grit with John Wayne. LOL! Touch of humor?

So it was a late night after work again, and I'm going to be exhausted today. One of my co-workers mentioned that Christmas is only a weekend from this weekend. How in the world did that happen!!!
Have a super hump day! Tomorrow they begin working on my counters. And again I realize--how did we get to Christmas this fast???

Top Pick from Night Owl Romance Reviews for Wolf Fever!
[image error][image error]
I worked from 9-9 yesterday so I could take off some time on Thursday when the counter guys are supposed to come to work on them. Then they have to come back on Friday to finish the job and I'll make up the time on Saturday. I'll be so glad to get one more major problem resolved. But I also need to get my car looked at. It's making weird noises.
The saddest thing is that I'm afraid of taking it in to get it looked at (besides the inconvenience and not having a way to go anywhere while I'm doing it), but I know how much dealerships and auto repair shops try to rip off the unsuspecting. It's really a shame that we can't go into a repair shop and believe that what mechanics tell you is wrong, is wrong, and not rip you off for even more than you need done. My daughter just had damage done to her AC, and she found a really good guy to take care of her car. It's too bad that he isn't the norm!
I'm off to another day of work. Not so cold today~~39 this morning. :) And tomorrow it's supposed to be 77 for a high. Huh? My trees have all kinds of new buds on them. Poor things.
Here are some new Wolf Fever reviews!!! Thanks to Robin of Night Owl Romance who gave it a Top Pick, to Jessica of Urban Fantasy Book Reviews, and Deb of Deb's Book Blogs! :)
Reviews of Wolf Fever
Wolf Fever, book six in the Heart of the Wolf series, by Terry Spear is an excellent addition to this wonderful paranormal series. Spear's ability to write, using her experience with real-wolf behavior is what really set's this series apart from the rest. The author has an uncanny sense of pack dynamics and pack behavior and it gives a real authenticity to her work.
The Heart of the Wolf series is definitely one of my favorite paranormal series' out there. Terry Spear gives readers the right amount of mystery and suspense, the right amount of sizzling romance and a great story all wrapped up in one, with Wolf Fever. Main characters Carol and Ryan heat up the pages as their relationship strengthens.~~Deb's Book Blog

Romantic Fiction Novel Wolf Fever
Terry Spear perfectly produced an urban fantasy paranormal romance novel that is simply fun to read. There aren't a lot of deep moments that resonate with things going on in the world today, but the book does pose a perfect example of escapist literature where readers can get lost in a world that is not their own. The characters are relatable up to their wolfish qualities and the dialogue is something anyone might say, if they were a were-wolf. Over all the book is simply fun and memorable and readers wont be disappointed when they try it out.~~Jessica, Urban Fantasy Book Reviews

I'm in Australia--Tomorrow for Us is Today for Them!
This looks surreal, it's so beautiful, but I asked Donna to send a picture of the blizzard they were experiencing while I was at work on my lunch hour. So now that I'm home, I wanted to share it with you.
Minnesota in the grip of a blizzard!
And here is a gray wolf who appears to be somewhere nearby!
Even though the northern part of the US looks like this, I'm in Australia right now on the other side of the world, or at least in spirit!!! Drop by and comment if you'd like! They've got the blog up and running, which for me would be tomorrow, but it's already tomorrow for Australia!
http://australianromancereaders.wordpress.com/2010/12/12/birth-of-a-werewolf-series/
Long day at work, trying to cook up some chicken for dinner, and then it's off to working on The Wolf and the SEAL some more!
Hope you all have a great night tonight and for those on the other side of the world, a super Sunday!
