Lady Sessily is a dark fae, an assassin, and she intends to retire and take up some other occupation so she can have a normal life. Get a boyfriend. Visit the human world to hassle humans like many of her kind do. Attend fae kingdom parties, not as the mystery woman who is scoping out her next intended victim, but just to have fun. Until tall, dark, handsome, and deadly interrupts her plans.
Lady Sessily is on a mission to assassinate a fae lord who is the most evil kind of fae. But when she is thwarted, not once, but twice by another fae lord, she is ready to strangle him. And she'll do it for free.
Tall, dark, handsome and deadly Lord Fairhaven insists she do a job for him. Which she refuses. But the lord is not one to take no for an answer.
The crown prince of the cobra fae doesn't know what to think when he hires a master assassin who turns out to be a woman--not her father like he'd been led to believe. But can she eliminate one of the most powerful queens of any of the fae kingdoms without getting herself killed?
He soon rethinks his plan as he gets to know the woman he begins to think of as his angel assassin.

A great review for Heart of the Highland Wolf! Over the Edge Reviews...

My favorite part of HEART OF THE HIGHLAND WOLF is fact appreciating and loving ones family was the main theme that ran through this incredibly endearing story. Ms. Spears showed it does not matter what makes-up your family--big or small, conventional or non-conventional- you love and honor the people who care about you.
I appreciate the fact and hope you enjoy HEART OF THE HIGHLAND WEREWOLF where Ms. Spear's shares with readers a story that has well-drawn characters, a fascinating suspenseful story line that deftly meshed factual and fictional incidents with a fresh approach in Spear's erotic werewolf world.--Christine

The Deadly Fae and Tomorrow Round Two for the Summer's Hottest Heroes!

Heart of the Wolf is advertised in The Book Breeze!
And yesterday was the WORST it has ever been at work. Hopefully it slowed down for everyone's sake last night after I left. Hopefully it won't be as bad today.
Otherwise I'm still working on revisions on The Deadly Fae. How does that work? I read through the book from beginning to end, find things I've said that I might have gone somewhere with and didn't and don't want to, so take out. Or I have some neat ideas I've brought up that I need to carry to the end of the story that I didn't, so I do.
The revision process is fun, though I do it over and over again to make sure that everything makes sense as much as possible. That the world is as it should be. That typos are fixed. That wonky sentences are unwonked.
Even though this is my "last time" to revise the book from beginning to end, it really isn't. Because once I read all of it, I've made minor additions and subtractions throughout. And every time I do that, it gives me the opportunity to make a new mistake.
So once I've gone through the final read through...I'll read through it again. :)
Tomorrow, Thursday, July 7, it will be time to vote for your summer's hottest hero!!
Ian MacNeill needs your vote for his kiss!!
Wouldn't you love his kiss???
Okay, off to work....

Woohoo, It's Tuesday!

Tuesday after a holiday is like a Monday x 2.
But still, it means it's closer to the weekend.
And I have the weekend off.
And since I worked 3 hours yesterday (from 9-12 PM because the AC guys weren't outta here until nearly 9 PM), I get 3 hours off earlier on Friday.
Which means I'm looking for a newer used car and giving mine to my daughter so they have something that's a little better for moving stuff in, newer than what they had, with a lot less mileage. They'll be moving in 3 weeks. And they sold his car last night. So that means I have to look really fast for a newer used car.
But the really good news is: The AC is working!!! It was 102 degrees yesterday, 103 today, and tomorrow it's supposed to be 104. So AC is really, really important!
SEAL edits are done and the book is off!
The Deadly Fae is done, although I'm still making revisions.
And I can't wait to get back to Jaguar.
And I got a lot of junk cleaned out!
So today is a great day. Even if it's a Monday x 2 following a holiday!
How's your Tuesday looking???

Ack, No AC Still!

Four days, well, today makes 4 days. But you know, if they'd get here at a decent hour, they could have had it done in 2!!!
8-10 the first night.
6-10 the next night.
4-9 the next night.
He promised he'd come early this morning because they have to get this job done. That's what I've been saying!!!! Or, thinking.
Anyway, I HAVE to work today. Anytime, but I don't want to be going in at midnight tonight. And I have to run errands too.
*sigh*
Okay, so I'm nearly done with SEAL edits too!!! I'm rereading the book one last time. And I've got word count on The Deadly Fae. Just writing the final scenes. And I need to get back to jaguar, to finish that up.
And I've got to water today. My watering day.
So what am I doing on here???
Saying hi and I'm off to work.
Have a very Happy 4th! Ban warnings all over because of the heat and dryness. Even the dragon above has to spew out water. Fire is forbidden. We did have a storm last night, but all it did was made a lot of noise, but no rain!
Hope your fireworks are all around spectacular!

Getting My Feng Shui...
My car is loaded to go to Goodwill. The thing of it is, I will miss NONE of this stuff. And I have tons more to sort through. But it feels good to really go through stuff and get rid of it.
I still have tons of clutter though. I bought a couple of new blouses for work the other day and my daughter said, "What are you going to do when you get these home?"
Before she had to clue me in, I knew just what she was thinking. Two in, two out. But I did lots better than that. I got rid of a whole bag of shoes I don't wear because they're not comfortable, and shirts that I never wear. I have a lot more to try on and decide about, but I need to keep working on SEAL edits and FAE, so I can't devote all my time to cleaning this stuff out.
But it's getting better. And I feel better about it. Because the clutter in my life is getting much more manageable. And as it goes out, it's not even missed. :)
Do you have unmanageable clutter that's filling your life?
Speaking of which, I have a clutter of manuscripts I need to work on. One page at a time. :)

Voting Continues for Ian MacNeill of Heart of the Highland Wolf!
I'm off to work on edits on SEAL, but I have to tell you that I've been writing non-stop on THE DEADLY FAE and I love it when this happens. I've maybe had 3-5 books over the years that I've written like this, as if possessed, and the story just unfolds before me as I type as fast as I can. I don't know why that happens sometimes. That I'm the characters in the story, that the scenes just appear one after another, that I don't have to take days to ponder where I'm going with the story next. If I hadn't had to work and do other things--like sleep, too!, I would have written this book in record time. I wish I could write this way with all books!
Of course, I stop to edit, and reedit as I'm going along to make sure changes that come to me as I'm writing I can incorporate earlier in the story, but wow, 7,000 more words to go, just like on Jaguar!
At the end, it's important to wrap up all the loose ends and give a satisfying feel-good ending. Even though 7,000 words sounds like a lot to have to write, really, it's time for the final scenes and it doesn't take long before that word count can be reached. The story will probably come out longer than my goal, which is always the bottom line.
Then it'll be more editing, which will add to the story, until it's done!!! So I expect to have the book done by the end of July, if not sooner. I'm working on SEAL also, or else I'd have THE DEADLY FAE done sooner. :)

Tomorrow will be a GREAT Day!

I'm off! --Friday, that is.
The contest for Ian will begin.
The AC man will be here to begin work on the AC.
And...I'm off!!
I'll be working on edits all weekend on The SEAL in Wolf's Clothing.
Today, I'll be having lunch with my DIL, her mother and sister, and hopefully my daughter, then I'll be at work.
But tomorrow I'm off!!! I so needed this. It's been a week and a half all rolled up into one week.
Our computers were down twice yesterday, which on top of everything else, put us way far behind and we couldn't get caught up before closing last night.
Hope you have a terrific Thursday!
I'll send out the newsletter tomorrow. Anyone want a peek at Jake's story in Dreaming of the Wolf?

Knight Errant

I was reading about fairies and the fae realms while I'm writing The Deadly Fae, although everyone has their own versions, which is what makes it fun to write my own version, and had to include my knight errant here today.
It's hard for me to keep a hero dark in a story--I always want to "rehabilitate" them so that they are loving and kind and what everyone wants in a hero. Yet, it's important to show growth in characters, so I struggle to keep my hero dark until he has "grown."
:)
I've read stories about heroes who are dark--dark pasts, who verge on abusive, and I can't see how that could be appealing to readers, yet for some it is. I don't care how much one romanticizes about such behavior, it's just not romantic to me! :)
Well, I'm off to work on Fae some more. I still need to finish up two more rounds for the contest that Ian is in...
Oh, and it's possible that The Dark Fae and the others in the series might come out in print from my historical publisher. We'll see!
Hope you have a lovely Tuesday!!! Yesterday was unbelievable at work, but then I knew it would be. It's like that every day now.
If you fell in love with a roguish hero, how would you try to rehabilitate him? Or would you let love take its course?
