A Ghost of a Chance at Love

My publisher emailed last night to say the book was sent to the printers and it should be up on Amazon in the next 2 days.
B&N will take a little longer.
I'll be at Karen Nutt's blog on September 12 to offer a giveaway.
In October, I'll be on Deb's blog, and at The Fairytale Nerd, concerning the fae series!
And now I'm off to work!
Hope you all have a great Tuesday! It will be a Monday for me, I'm afraid!!! But the good news is that only 4 days are left in the work week! :)
Oh, oh, oh, and it has been 59 in the mornings!!! Woohoo! Now, if only we'd get some rain!!!
Unfortunately, it will be up to 106 again by this time next week. :(

What is Wrong with this Picture?
Some might say that you're not the one painting the heart. Hmm-hm.

Or, some might say that he has too goofy a look...like he thinks this is silly instead of ooh-lah-lah!
Or, some might say he doesn't really look like he's smiling.
How so, you ask? The smile doesn't reach his eyes. It's a faked smile.
Oh, I know, some of you are asking what's wrong with me that I even looked at his face!
I should have been concentrating on the heart...or what was beneath the heart.
:)
But you see, there's not enough of what's beneath the heart to keep my attention, so I'm back to the goofy fake smile.
Some would say I should go back to my writing! LOL...so I'm off!!! In more ways than one!

I FOUND TOM!!!
I couldn't sleep last night, thinking of shadowy elves and poor Tom and the predicament he was in, so I couldn't sleep. I know, I'm repeating myself in one sentence, but it's meant to be there--for emphasis.
So that's why I woke at 7:30 this morning, and have been playing catch up ever since then.
Okay, first, I want you all to know I found Tom!!! Poor guy, lost in the wilderness and I can't find him!
Title probably to change, but here it is--Silence of the Wolf....
There. I have it up for the whole wide wild world to see so that if I can't remember my title again, you all can remind me! LOL
I actually have 5,000 words written of it! But I'm rethinking my beginning. What I have written will remain though.
First, I've been told readers love to see the hero's pov first.
Second, I've got to get the hero and heroine together pronto.
Okay, so first, I've done it wrong, if readers truly do like to see the hero first.
And second, I have it right, the hero and heroine get together quickly, but I want to show more of the background of how come they get together so....
*sigh*
And you all thought it was so easy!!!
LOL
Okay, so I'm off to play around with Tom...*double sigh* and while I'm off romping through the wilderness with him, I hope you all have a lovely Sunday!!!
We're having REALLY high winds for the last two days, no break in heat though, and no rain!!! Someone said they're predicting we won't get any until October. That is not acceptable!!!

The Winged Fae is Up!!
One of the most fun things about self-publishing is having your own publishing schedule! I've got to work today, but since I've finished The Winged Fae, I've got The High Elf up to start working on. Can't find Tom's story (of the gray wolf pack in Destiny of the Wolf). Forgot the title I used for it! LOL
Hey, I was tired last night when I tried to find it! But I'll be working on that on Sunday also, as soon as I locate it--tonight after work too! I have one beginning, but want to make something more dramatic. :)
That's one of the cool things I learned from another writer: The beginning is never the beginning. Some of mine are, and some I change drastically as I write the story. But just knowing we can alter it gives us the go ahead to just run with it, instead of getting stuck on attempting to write the perfect beginning and never going anywhere with it.
It's weird how that goes too. I close my eyes at night and begin to think about it--where Tom is, where the heroine is, the trouble they're in, how they get together.
But then I flipped to The High Elf (in my tired brain that is supposed to be sleeping), and think of how I started the scene, which I'm keeping (says me--but after I've written a lot more, who knows how it might evolve?) and I'm thinking what happens next? First, Eloria is given the disagreeable task to bring Persephonice home from the uncivilized world of elves (The Shadow Elf). But she believes Persephonice wants to be right where she is.
Then there's the trouble with the water dwelling elves and mer creatures and well...you see, she's another redhead...
But that's another story...
So from beginning to end, here is The Winged Fae, a story that evolved from loving this one picture and how it inspired me to write the 3rd book in The World of Fae series! More to come!

Serena, a royal member of the Mabara winged fae, has one goal in mind. Stop an impending marriage with a dark fae. As the fae are known to do, she stirs up trouble that she hopes will make her point and get her off the hook. Only nothing goes as she plans.
Niall, a royal member of the Denkar, aka the dark fae, is visiting South Padre Island when he catches a winged fae painting graffiti on a wall on the island claimed by his people. He is at once fascinated with the lovely girl and intrigued by her audacity, but as one of the Denkar, he must take her to task. Yet she's armed with a sleeping potion that makes his life intolerable. Between freeing her from his people's dungeon, her own tower, and fighting a knight in her honor, he wonders if he's lost his mind over one beautiful winged fae--when she's betrothed to his cousin!

Anything Special Planned for Labor Day?
No labor!
No, absolutely not true! I wouldn't know what to do with a day free of labor!
I'm working. I always come in on the holidays to check-in books so we don't have such a mess on the day following the holiday. So I'm working. But the glorious part is that I have 2 whole days off before then!!!
Whatever will I do with the time???
Believe me, it will not be long enough! Why is it that days off zip by so quickly?
I'll be finishing up The Winged Fae (The World of Fae, Book 3) and uploading it, and I'll be working on Tom's story,
and maybe a little on the 2nd jaguar story. :)

See, I told you there wasn't enough time in 2 days!
What will you be doing for the holiday???

The Jaguar is with My Editor!

The jaguar synopsis and titles, thanks so much for the great suggestions, ladies!!!, are in the hands of my editor and they'll have the marketing meeting after Labor Day. Can't wait to hear what comes of it!
Also, waiting to hear when Highland Wolf in Paradise is scheduled for release.
And when A Ghost of a Chance will actually be up also!
And...you didn't think that was all she wrote, did you???
I'm working on the final edits of The Winged Fae and hope to have it out this weekend. :) Which is what I'm working on this morning!
So I'm off to work, hoping we'll have the rain they say we're supposed to on Friday. We so need the relief.
I have to say I used "Clawed and Dangerous" in my tag line for the blurb! That was just too neat.
How's your weather been?
Have a super Tuesday!!!

What Will They Pick?
Heart of the Highland Wolf receives 4 1/2 stars in The Affaire de Couer Magazine!
http://www.adcmagazine.com/reviews/terryspear.html
And Seduced by the Wolf had a lovely review by Tara MacQueen!
http://taramacqueen.com/2011/08/author-terry-spear-and-review-of-seduced-by-the-wolf/

The synopsis and titles for the first of the jaguar series is off! So now the wait to see what they decide! The marketing meeting is scheduled for after Labor Day.
I'm off to work a little on The Winged Fae now that I'm caught up on other deadlines again!!
We need the Amazon jungle's RAIN!!! We've broken all records with 110 degree heat that's lasted this long. No relief in sight. :(

Hello Dolly vs Conan the Barbarian!
I'm working on the synopsis and the title request for the first of the jaguar series that's to come out in Fall of 2012, just finished the final proof of A GHOST OF A CHANCE AT LOVE, and am still finishing up the newsletter to send off!
I'm at two sites for free giveaways--
For the teen reads: The Vampire...In My Dreams or a copy of Deidre's Secret.
http://www.romancing-the-book.com/2011/08/guest-terry-spear.html
And for the adult reads: Heart of the Highland Wolf.
http://www.bookofsecretsblog.com/2011/08/guest-post-by-terry-spear-and-giveaway.html
And now my discussion about Hello Dolly vs Conan the Barbarian!
Well, I'm seeing Hello Dolly in a play today with fellow librarians, and that should be fun.

I loved the story, the music, the costuming in the movie with Barbara Streisand, but Conan has something else...
Adventure, fighting, okay, okay, muscles!

If I had lots of time, and someone who would go with me--the other ladies keep shaking their heads, I'd see it!
*sigh* I hear it hasn't received good ratings. Maybe I could solicit some romance writers to go with me? Just for....well, you know, research.
Muscle research.
:)
Have a super great Sunday!!!

Final, Final, Final A GHOST OF A CHANCE AT LOVE Edits!
I'm excited about working on these as it will be the final step in the editing process, but the work should be pretty well clean and reading will be more pure enjoyment as I get to read the story more for fun and know it will be out really, really soon.
My editor would tell me I'm using certain words too repetitively here, but it's for emphasis in a really, really good way.
:)
I just received some endorsements also from Karen Nutt, Vonda Sinclair and Linda Warren's will be coming soon, and that's really terrific too! Thanks, ladies, for helping me out on such short notice. I've been wrapped up in so many other projects: wolves, jaguars, fae, edits on time traveling wenches and ranching dudes, that I wasn't thinking about the final, final product.
Hey, it's my blog and I MAY repeat myself. I'm excited!
And in a message from Deb at Sourcebooks, the cover art department is looking for the perfect male hunks to use for our next covers, so A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing is still waiting for its hunk. :)
Trying not to drool in anticipation here!
Also, I'm at Book of Secrets with more brilliant words of wisdom. Ahem. Yeah. So if you want to drop by and comment, chance at a free book giveaway!

Hope you all have a terrific Friday! I'm off today, but work tomorrow. And now I'm off to work on A GHOST OF A CHANCE AT LOVE!
