The Incomparable Cassandra Carr

I am so happy to have the very lovely Cassandra Carr hanging out with me today!

LisaFox: So, tell us about you. Who is Cassandra Carr?

Cassandra Carr: I'm a wife, mother, and a writer, so my time is divided about a million different ways on any given day. I've been writing my whole life but didn't decide to become a full-time writer until 2009. Before that I worked for years in the marketing/PR/media relations field.

LF: Your novel, Talk to Me, sounds mighty hot! This is your first one, right? Where did the inspiration for the story come from?

CC: Yes, it's my first published novel! The whole inspiration for the story came from the concept of being seduced by someone's voice. Then I started thinking about the rest of the story: where could the hero work – what kind of job would a guy have if he had a great voice? If the hero is in radio, what could the heroine do that would throw her into his path and having to listen to his voice a lot? For her to be his producer was a natural fit and the rest of the story flowed from there.

LF: I read romance for the story, but also for the hero. Tell me about your hero, Drew.

CC: I love Drew! He's an ex-hockey player who retires and goes into radio for a couple of reasons. One – he doesn't want to sit around all the time. He would be bored to tears. Two – he wants to feel useful – he's only in his mid-thirties and wants to do something besides live off the money he made playing. Three – people told him during his playing days he should consider going into broadcasting.

Drew is a bonafide Alpha made, but he has a great heart. He loves women, but he was hurt by his ex-fiancée, so he's leery of getting involved in another relationship.

LF: Who do you see playing him in the movie?

CC: Ohhh, great question! Hmmmmm…I'm going to say Henry Cavill (using an American accent). I modeled Drew after Scott Stevens, a defenseman who used to play for the New Jersey Devils.

Here's a pic:

Obviously, he's the shirtless guy hugging the black dog. Yep, I love hockey players… *drool* Henry Cavill could pull him off, though, I think.

LF: You're allowed one wish. Only one. What is it?

CC: Right now, to get rid of my migraine. No, seriously. I think I would rid the world of cancer. I'm a survivor so I have a particular distaste for the disease.

LF : Any new projects in the works?

CC: Of course! I have a trilogy of books with bull rider heroes which are out on submittal currently. I'm writing a holiday-themed book for Loose Id and considering my next project after that. Oh, and I have a non-erotic hockey romance also out on submittal.

LF : How can people find you online?

CC: For more information about me, check out my website at http://www.booksbycassandracarr.com, "like" my Facebook fan page at http://www.facebook.com/AuthorCassandraCarr or follow me on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/Cassandra_Carr. I'm also on Goodreads and have an Amazon author page.

Radio producer Jamie MacMahon is in over her head with ex-hockey player-turned host Drew Milan. She's attracted to the man who earned the nickname "the Beast" during his playing days from the moment they meet, but he's her boss and she loves her new job. She's made plenty of mistakes with men and loathes the thought of being yet another plaything for Drew, a man who sleeps with women but doesn't date them.

Drew doesn't want to lose a great producer and knows Jamie deserves a real relationship, but can't stay away from the sizzling chemistry they create every time they're together. Jamie's insecurities and the very real prospect of having to leave a great job if this thing doesn't work out clash hard with Drew's fears about opening his heart and the possibility of losing his first competent producer. Nothing's going to get resolved if one of them won't say it: "Come on, baby, talk to me."

Moonlight and Merlot

The continuing saga of the lives, loves and heartbreaks of the residents of Dion Valley, CA.

As with all the best things in life, this is for adults only.

*****

Lela awoke alone in Nick's bed.

She reached out, her hand roving over the spot where he had been sleeping, but the sheets were cool to the touch, no trace of his body heat remained. She vaguely recalled him leaving earlier, when the sun had barely lit the morning sky, to go open the Diner. He had left with a kiss and a promise to see her that evening out in the forest at the Altar.

The thought of the Alter flooded her mind with brilliant light and nerves gathered in her belly.

Tonight was the night.

So much waiting and wanting and wishing and the time was finally here and Lela couldn't decide if what she was doing was the right decision or not. Just a week ago, there was no doubt in her mind, she knew exactly what she wanted to, what she hoped to accomplish, but now…

Now she wondered.

With a heavy sigh, Lela dragged herself out of bed and headed for the shower.  So many things to question and wonder and worry about. She was going to go through with it, mostly because she still wanted her own little vengeance on the town, but she didn't feel quite as righteous about it as she had not too long ago. In fact, she felt almost petty, but she steadfastly refused to dwell on it. The decision was made, the spell was happening and she would see what there was to be seen once it was done.

Warm spray hit her in the face and Lela ducked her head under the steady stream.  She just wished it was all as simple as it should have been. That all these annoying, unforeseen complications didn't keep cropping up.

Like, for example, Phoebe.

There was something very wrong going on there, something Lela couldn't quite put her finger on, but knew in her heart to be true. She didn't think Phoebe would intentionally sabotage the spell.  At least she hoped not. Telling Nick to keep an eye on her was just a precaution. Surely it was only that. Besides, what reason could Phoebe have to want the spell to fail? Phoebe was many things, spiteful and mean among them, but she never did anything without a reason.

She got out of the shower and slowly dressed.  There was so much to do today. The first chore was getting back to apartment and retrieving the spell book. She gave Nick's apartment one, last, long look and let herself out.

The day was warm and sunny and bright and Lela inhaled deeply, breathing in the smell of grass sand earth and growing things.  It was a brand new day in Dion Valley.

And tonight was the night.

Six Sentence Sunday

Lisa cannot be present today as she is totally and completely immersed in Dragon Age at the moment. She did however leave you a small gift. Another six sexy sentences from the myth she was working on before the addiction truly took hold.

"I've finally found you." Her luminescent robes rustled as she moved, and her dark, fathomless eyes were bright in the dim light. "And you are everything I hoped for." She was so close. Just a few inches and he could be cupping her round, plump breast in his palm, squeezing and playing with her hard little nipple until she moaned. Tendons stood out in his neck as he fought the infuriating barrier.

Make sure to drop the OFFICIAL SITE and check out all of this week's snippets!

Saturday Video – Gloria

This song is every bit as awesome as it was in 1982.  I still don't quite know what it means, but I love it nonetheless.

Special Guest Casey Sheridan

I ma so very excited to have sexy erotic author CASEY SHERIDAN here on my blog today announcing the release of her latest book, RUBY RED METALLIC!

Make sure to stop by her BLOG for a chance to win!!

*****

Lisa has kindly given me the use of her blog to help me with my release.

I had forgotten that I had a post to write until Lisa reminded me.  Then I sat staring at a blank page.  I didn't know what to write.  The few ideas I had just wouldn't form any words.  Was I having writer's block?  Maybe.

That's how I felt before I started to write Ruby Red Metallic.  No words came to me.

The general idea for Ruby Red Metallic came from my friend Moose.  He suggested I write an erotic story with a car.

A car? I don't know anything about cars except how to drive one and put gas into it.  How can I possibly write something with a car?  I thought long and hard, but no words came to me.  The idea sat for some time while I worked on other things.

It was during a workshop I was taking that a portion of Ruby Red Metallic was born.  From there the concept of a female car thief took flight.  Before I knew it my character, Alaina, stood before me and introduced herself.  Because of her and her passion for Porsche I have come to appreciate the 911 GT2 model.

Lisa, like Alaina, has helped me and inspired me in many ways.  Thank you, Lisa, for being my friend and for letting me take over your blog for the day.

Today is release day for Ruby Red Metallic, an erotic novelette, and to celebrate the release I'm going to give away a pdf copy to one lucky subscriber of my BLOG.

I hope you come over to http://casey-sheridan.blogspot.com/Porsche-911-GT2.html and help me celebrate.  Don't forget to subscribe while you're there so you have a chance to win a copy of Ruby Red Metallic.

Alaina knows her cars and she doesn't view what she does for a living as stealing. Using all the physical attributes she has at her disposal, she merely acquires the high-end vehicles for a business partner.

Although the beautiful cars turn her on, she has her heart set on a particular gem. When she finds her jewel, Alaina is pleasantly surprised by its handsome owner, Scott.

Now she's faced with a dilemma. Does she choose the man or the gem?

Moonlight and Merlot

The continuing saga of the lives, loves and heartbreaks of the residents of Dion Valley, CA.

As with all the best things in life, this is for adults only.

*****

Zach led Phoebe out his car and toward his family's cabin.

"Where are we?" she asked groggily and he was a little annoyed with how dazed and out of it she seemed. The ride had been long, but not that long.  But then Phoebe had the attention span of a flea and she had spent most of the trip practically drooling on herself in his passenger's seat.

"We're at the Farm," he said, guiding her out of the car toward the front door. Zach supposed that the thousand acre property and Frank Lloyd Wright inspired bungalow hardly qualified as a 'farm' in the real life sense of the word, but that is what his family always called it. It was one of the few places in the world that he felt entirely at home and some of his best memories were born there.  Phoebe's pseudo-betrayal had hit him hard in the heart. The Farm was the first place he thought of go. The place to go to find some comfort. Some peace.  And hopefully work things out with her.

She followed him like a zombie into the living room and then, almost as though a switch had been flipped, she suddenly came back to life.

"Are we all alone?" she asked, sliding up to him and wrapping her arms around his neck.

Something flickered behind her eyes. Something… hungry.  She took hold of his face and pulled him into a hard, demanding kiss that left him breathless and aroused and very disconcerted. There was something almost wrong in her kiss, something that he had never felt with her before. Phoebe could be demanding and definitly aggressive when she was in the mood and she did often like him to be rough with her, but this was different.  Her kiss was almost violent.  Almost cruel.

He should have been revolted. He should have been disgusted. He knew these things in his mind, but his body felt differently. Very differently.  He succumbed to the kiss, losing himself in her harsh and demanding embrace. He snapped back into himself when her hand snaked down the front of his jeans, giving him a rough, but thoroughly erotic tug. He knew then that was entirely and utterly wrong. He had to get away from her. He tried to untangle himself from her hold, but she held fast. "Phoebe, I –"

"Oh, Zach, just shut up and fuck me," she said, rubbing against him.

He was appalled by how turned on he was, by how much he did want to fuck her, fuck her good and hard and long and…

"Yes," she hissed, and bit his earlobe.

She was grinding against him, writhing in his arms, and it was just too good, too bad, too much. He plunged his tongue into her mouth, lowered her onto the floor and gave her exactly what she wanted.

[Until next Tuesday…]
