Photos: 1,000 at Climate March in Brattleboro
More than 1,000 people marched in Brattleboro on September 20 to call on politicians to do more to stop climate change. The march closed Main Street to cars and trucks. One of the groups that organized the march has a web site at www.350vermont.org.

Indigo Girls to Play Near Brattleboro
The Indigo Girls will perform near Brattleboro in October. The band will release a new album in January. The Indigo Girls have sold more than 7 million albums and won a Grammy award. The Indigo Girls are Amy Ray and Emily Saliers, plus a changing lineup of musicians on their records and at some of their concerts. Some tours are just Ray and Saliers. Ray and Saliers live near Atlanta, Georgia.
Local News Round-up
On September 13 in Springfield there was a rally calling on politicians to pass stronger gun control laws. The rally was outside the corporate headquarters of Smith and Wesson, a maker of guns. The USA's gun murder rate is 25 times higher than other rich nations' rates. About 50 people attended the Springfield rally. The below photo shows people playing drums at the rally. Native Americans Lead Protest
Native Americans led a protest rally near Greenfield September 9 following a corporate acid spill that killed thousands of big and small fish in a river. The September 1 spill into the North river in Colrain, Massachusetts was from a factory owned by Barnhardt Corporation of North Carolina.
