The Indigo Girls will perform June 25, 2021 at the Pines Theater in Northampton. The Indigo Girls have sold more than 14 million albums and won a Grammy award. The Indigo Girls are Amy Ray and Emily Saliers, plus a changing lineup of musicians on their records and at some of their concerts. Some tours are just Ray and Saliers. Greenfield v. Trump

In Greenfield 150 or so people attended a rally to protest Trump. The August 15 event was inspired by a pro-Trump rally that ended up drawing just five people. Katherine Golub was at the anti-Trump rally. “It was amazing,” she told the Valley Post. Trump supports cutting taxes on rich people and cutting programs that help poor people. He feels that climate change is not a problem.

135 in the Streets

On August 12 in Northampton about 75 people attended a labor rally. Candie St. Jean is a nurse at the Northampton hospital. 200 March in Easthampton

About 200 people marched in Easthampton, Massachusetts on August 1. The goal was to cut the police budget and use the money to help people of color in the city. Easthampton borders Holyoke. Easthampton is home to about 16,000 people. Three groups organized the march. They have web pages at:

Greenfield Black Lives Matter Rally is August 1

In Greenfield on August 1, there will be a Black Lives Matter rally at 10 a.m. at the town common at the corner of Main Street and Route 5. The organizers have a web site at www.RacialJusticeRising.org.
