Indigo Girls Concert is October 18
The Indigo Girls will perform October 18 an hour by car from the Pioneer Valley town of Otis, Massachusetts. The concert will be in Albany, New York. Details are on the band's web site. The Indigo Girls have sold more than 14 million albums and won a Grammy award. The Indigo Girls are Amy Ray and Emily Saliers, plus a changing lineup of musicians on their records and at some of their concerts. Some tours are just Ray and Saliers. Ray and Saliers live near Atlanta, Georgia.
Victory for Brattleboro Bike-Ped Activists
After decades of fighting for a crosswalk to be installed at the corner of the Hannaford supermarket driveway and Route 5 in Brattleboro, bike-ped activists are celebrating. The "walk/don't walk" button was turned on in mid-September. The activists have a web site at www.LocalMotion.org.

110 Take to the Streets
About 60 people attended a September 13 rally in Springfield. The rally was to call on congress to tax the rich and use the money to address climate change and pay healthcare workers more. One of the groups that organized the event has web site at www.AriseSpringfield.org.

Concert Review: Joel Veena and Mir Naqibul Islam
The following article is by Elizabeth Wood of the New Leaf CSA farm in Dummerston, Vermont. On September 12 at the Stone Church night club in Brattleboro, Joel Veena and Mir Naqibul Islam played an excellent concert. The music was Indian classical. The audience applauded enthusiastically after every song. The music made me feel relaxed. Veena played the 20-string Indian slide guitar. Naqibul Islam played tabla.
