Community Supports Worker Fired for Union Organizing
Shirley Lewis was recently fired from her job in Northampton because of her support for an ongoing effort by her co-workers to form a union. That’s according to a spokesman for the nation’s largest union, the Service Employees International Union. “She was fired because she supported the union,” Ryan Berard told the Valley Post on January 3. Environmental Victory
Forestland and wetlands have been saved. In Northampton, 84 acres alongside Fitzgerald Lake will soon be protected against pavers. Rally for Justice Is December 15 in Springfield

At 6:30 p.m. on December 10, there will be a rally for peace outside the courthouse at the corner of Main and King streets in Northampton. The rally is to cut the nation’s military budget. Almost half of this year's entire federal budget of $2.8 trillion is being spent on war. That’s according to:
