Howdy,

My publication news for the past month:
None.

This month I wrote 4,832 words, giving me a yearly total of 88,100. My goal was 80,000 words, so I easily met it. I also wrote every day of the month.

Here is my quarterly photo of my story board.
I reworked it recently. The stories at the upper left are ones that are done or need one more polish. The ones on the upper right are ones I’m writing, or need major revisions....

Did you get a Kindle for Christmas?
If Santa brought you a Kindle, but didn’t put any books on it for you, why not check out a couple of my short story anthologies. Both A Man of Few Words and The All-You-Can-Read Buffet will be free to download on Christmas Day.

145 Days
As I mentioned in my last newsletter, my record for days spent writing in a row was 144. I just made a few revisions to a short story and submitted it, meaning that I have now written everyday for 145 days. Will I make it to 200? Let’s hope so.

End of the World promotion
This Friday, I will be having a free promotion for the Kindle versions of my three of my books, A Man of Few Words, The All-You-Can-Read Buffet, and “Brain for Rent and other stories.” So if the world doesn’t end, you can pick up something to read. And in The All-You-Can-Read Buffet you can read my story “Will Any Survive?” – which is set on December 22 – to see my prediction of what will happen.

This month I wrote 5,699 words, giving me a yearly total so far of 83,268, meaning I’ve hit my goal of 80,000 words this year! I have also written every day this month, so I still have five of my no-writing days left. That means I’ve written every day for 125 days, so I’m well on my way of beating my record of 144 days.

Photo Fridays – Book starts
I know I completely forgot about last week’s Photo Friday, and I would have done two to make up for it, but I didn’t have a clue for this week. Then I saw these book ends lying around and the line, “If only I could find some book starts,” popped into my head. It’s funny – in an aggravating way – how you can spend half-an-hour trying to think of something, and then the answer will just pop out.

Story idea give away
I have a lot of story ideas. So many in fact, that – unless I start writing 10,000 words a day or live to be 900 – I will never write all of them. So what am I supposed to do? I think most of my story ideas are interesting and should be written, and if I can’t write them then someone else should. Therefore, I’ve decided that I should start writing up some of the ideas I know I’ll never write and put them out there for other people. All I ask is that if you do take one of my ideas and run with...
