145 Days

As I mentioned in my last newsletter, my record for days spent writing in a row was 144. I just made a few revisions to a short story and submitted it, meaning that I have now written everyday for 145 days. Will I make it to 200? Let’s hope so.

End of the World promotion

This Friday, I will be having a free promotion for the Kindle versions of my three of my books, A Man of Few Words, The All-You-Can-Read Buffet, and “Brain for Rent and other stories.” So if the world doesn’t end, you can pick up something to read. And in The All-You-Can-Read Buffet you can read my story “Will Any Survive?” – which is set on December 22 – to see my prediction of what will happen.

Photo Fridays – Photoshop

I missed last Friday’s photo because I was traveling. Hopefully, this will make up for it.

Stephen L. Thompson’s November 2012 Newsletter

Howdy,

Welcome to my electronic newsletter, covering November 2012.

* * *

My publication news for the past month:

None.

* * *

This month I wrote 5,699 words, giving me a yearly total so far of 83,268, meaning I’ve hit my goal of 80,000 words this year! I have also written every day this month, so I still have five of my no-writing days left. That means I’ve written every day for 125 days, so I’m well on my way of beating my record of 144 days.

Despite writing every day, I just couldn’t come up...

Photo Fridays – Book starts

bookends

I know I completely forgot about last week’s Photo Friday, and I would have done two to make up for it, but I didn’t have a clue for this week. Then I saw these book ends lying around and the line, “If only I could find some book starts,” popped into my head. Story idea give away

I have a lot of story ideas. So many in fact, that – unless I start writing 10,000 words a day or live to be 900 – I will never write all of them. So what am I supposed to do? I think most of my story ideas are interesting and should be written, and if I can’t write them then someone else should. Therefore, I’ve decided that I should start writing up some of the ideas I know I’ll never write and put them out there for other people. All I ask is that if you do take one of my ideas and run with...

Photo Fridays – blank page

I was trying to come up with a version of the “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” saying. I’m fighting a cold right now, so this is the best I could do.

80,000 words!

My goal for this year was to write 80,000 words. Today my total hit 80,080! Whatever I write for the rest of the year is just gravy.
