The Tuesday Tease~!

He roots his feet into the carpet. A minute of silence tracks by with nothing but cross-armed aggression spewing from him.
“This isn’t like you, Mitch.” You can see the fire in his eyes. You could light an entire solar system with the inferno brewing inside him. “I thought you were nice.” He spits it out like it was the world’s vilest expletive.“Nice wears off after five years.” I butt my shoulder into his as I pass him.He doesn’t bother with a response, just stalks through the living room and up the stairs to the bedroom he shares with my wife.

ENTROPY (The Countenance Trilogy 3)
(Young Adult)
*Coop’s POV (Cooper and Marky, his sister.)
Marky stares over at me, her hand still clutching at the refrigerator door.“Do I have to spell everything out for you?” She gives a huff of frustration. “You have to kiss her with your tongue if you want her to like you, stupid.”“Says who?”“Says my friends.”“Get new friends.”



(CELESTRA FOREVER AFTER 1) 
(New Adult)
*Skyla and Marshall at his estate.
“Where were you just now?” I lean in with suspicion. “You look like holy hell.” I take him in with his rumpled hair, his shirt unbuttoned down the front, his rock hard abs slicked with sweat. “If I didn’t know better…” I let the words hang in the air so thick you could hook a coat on them.A sly grin plays on his lips as he stares out the window.“You do know better, don’t you, Ms. Messenger.”“Who is she?” It comes from me barely audible.He cuts a quick glance in my direction and reverts his gaze back out toward the barn, guilty as hell.“Oh God, no.” Everything in me seizes. “I believe the words you used just moments before were, ‘Oh God, yes, yes, yes.’”“Shit.”“Language.” He gives a sly smile as he walks on by.

Celestra really was an intense journey for me. It was fun, and emotional, and I loved visiting that island every single day for the past two years. Sharing it with you made it a dream come true so thank you again. 

Celestra in and of itself is complete, but I would love to invite anyone who is interested in more of Skyla's life to join me on the island in her new series, Celestra Forever After. Be warned, it will be steamy.

So what am I working on now? 

* I'm turning a book into Amazon (my publisher) next week. SOMEONE LIKE YOU is book two in the SOMEONE TO LOVE Series. It follows the story of Ally and Morgan (Kendall's BFF and big bro). Morgan Jordan is naughty and hawt, hawt, HAWT. That is all. Cannot wait to share this with you in early 2014. 

*The Countenance Trilogy! I'll be penning the final book, ENTROPY in July with a fall release. Yay! Laken *sigh* Lucky, lucky Laken has a very good and tragic time in book 3. So much crazy fun still to be had at the Ephemeral Academy. 

*THE SOLITUDE OF PASSION - Mmm, Mitch and Max, Max and Mitch, mix and match... OK, sorry I got momentarily distracted by all the yumminess running rampant. Have I mentioned there are vineyards involved? I love this book. It's the very next book I'm putting out and I'm hoping for a late June early July release. This is a story I wrote years ago but it's always stuck with me. I hope you'll fall in love with the characters and their unusual predicament like I did. I've mentioned this before but those two men were forerunners to Logan and Gage. Odd, I know.

*Secret Project!!! New Adult~! I'm pushing for a cover/title reveal SOON! LOVE this title, LOVE this cover. Will share soon. 

*CELESTRA FOREVER AFTER - OK, I admit it- I've already started penning this one, like months ago. I couldn't help myself it was too tempting not to. I'll release book 1 soon after I release ENTROPY (Counts 3). This series is arced out a little different from Celestra but it will be a fun way for those who enjoyed the young adult series to dip their foot into Paragon waters once again. And finally we will enjoy a release to all that hormonal angst Skyla went through. *fans self* This series will be written in multiple point of views! Let's hear it for the boyz!!!!!! And Skyla. 

*New Adult Christmas novella~! Coming November 1st! It's a part of the 12 NA's of Christmas that I'm working on with a group of talented authors, and I can't wait to share the holiday fun. Here's the dedicated website where you can keep tabs on all 12 novella's set to release on the same day.

I speed down to the kitchen ready to tell Mom everything. I’m sick of all the secrets. I’m sick of all the lies. I’m finally going to—“What the hell?” I stop short and take a breath.Tad sits at the table with a napkin twisted up each nostril while everyone around him proceeds to nosh on their bacon and eggs as if his ability to sprout spontaneous tusks were an everyday occurrence.“He’s got a severe nasal drip.” Mom glances up before returning to the task of folding miniature sanitary napkins for her husband’s currently defunct sniffer. Drake points his fork in Tad’s direction. “You probably have your brain leaking out of your nose. You hear about that all the time now. I bet that’s what’s happening.”I shake my head. “Makes total sense.”

The Tuesday Tease + ELYSIAN news

It's here again! The Tuesday Tease!


The final book in the young adult Celestra Series is finished! The cover, however, is not. I thought for sure I'd have it up but hopefully it'll be finalized later today.


I'll be formatting the book and all that fun stuff today so I'll most likely hit publish on Thursday for a Friday release (or sooner). I'll shout it out all over facebook and twitter once I hit publish to give you a heads up. I'm pretty sure Amazon will have it up relatively quick, I'm hoping B&N will as well but I can't make any promises. If my formatter is quick, I'll have the Smashwords copy available for immediate purchase, and then the rest of the platforms as soon as my distributor can get them up.

Can you believe it? We made it! All the way to "the end." I really want to thank each one of you for making this crazy ride so very special by constantly showering me with your support. ELYSIAN marks the close to a chapter in Skyla's life but it also marks the close to a chapter in my life as well. I really lived each of those adventures right alongside her, and I hope you feel as though you did, too. I'm all ready to begin a new chapter and share in Skyla's new adventures and I hope you'll join us as well. Paragon wouldn't be the same without you.

ELYSIAN is looong. It has a part one and a part two all in ONE e-book! So sit back and enjoy the ride. It's bumpy so you might want to buckle up. ;)

As for "the end," I realize it's exciting to see who she ends up with. If you do skip to the last page, I promise you won't understand the true ending. I designed it that way because well, lets face it, it was too fun not to. :) All of the answers are in the text. Except the ones that are not, like stuff that belongs in the Countenance or in Skyla's new series. But I did try to offer closure and answers to everything that had to do with Celestra and I hope you'll be more than pleased with all of the secrets that ELYSIAN reveals. This book was tough to write but it was such a pleasure. And I hope you'll enjoy it, too.

I sifted through all of your questions (thank you for letting me know your thoughts!) and made sure to tackle those in the book. The revelations—the reveals of how and why are given in parts throughout the book. As the book draws to a close the answers become clearer. The answers do not appear on the last page nor are they in the final chapter. It’s more of a progressive reveal. There is one storyline that gets answered in the final book of the Countenance, and that is the ever-elusive question: Why do Wesley and Gage look exactly alike? Since that’s not pertinent to Celestra I don’t give the answer in this book but it will be revealed in Skyla’s new series as well. I slept with Max. Just once in high school. Katrice bows her lashes trying to hide a smile. She’s the only living soul that knows what happened that night. Not even Mitch knows about that explosive night I shared with his adversary. Of course back then they were anything but. “You ever tell Mitch?” she whispers.“I’d die before I told him.” Those two were closer than brothers until Mitch’s father and Max’s mother flaunted their infidelity for the world to see. It was treason in both the bedroom and boardroom. Split two families in half, reduced their friendship to cinders. “Lee,” Max shouts, waving his racket. His black hair gleams in the light. He’s so cuttingly handsome, but it’s Mitch who’s my golden Adonis. “You see that? Your husband cheats!” I wasn’t paying attention, so I just shake my head and round my hand over the curve of my swollen belly. I’m hardly five months and already I’ve morphed into a beach ball.  “Leave him.” Max grins before serving the ball with bionic force. “I’ll help you raise the baby.”“Leavehim?” Kat’s face pricks with mockery. “I’ll help raise the baby? He is so still in love with you.” “Shut up. He’s not in love with me. He’s in love with making Mitch miserable.”

We’re diabolical enemies.” She giggles as Melissa crops up.“We are not enemies. We are sisters,” I hiss. I spot Chloe and Pierce heading in this direction, and my heart starts in on a series of unnatural thumps. “Get inside and tell all your little friends to leave.” Good God. I thought Chloe was getting it on with Ethan. But, then again, that was probably a two-minute endeavor. “We can’t tell these people to leave.” Melissa shoots daggers at me as if she’s ready and willing to take me on.“Oh yes you can. Do it or I will.”“Chloe was right,” Mia barks. “You Celestra think you’re the boss of everyone.”
*Skyla in Marshall’s class. (Repeat?)I glare at him from over the top of my lab manual. I’m still not used to him as my chemistry teacher, not that I ever fully accepted him as my “math” teacher. He’s more of an inter-dimensional stalker who has conveniently landed a job as a person of authority just to be near me. Actually, now that I think of it that way, it sort of endears me to him.  
*(Skyla with Logan and Gage)Logan wraps his arms around me from behind, bowing a kiss into the nape of my neck, and I blush from head to toe while locking eyes with Gage. Sadly, I found the moment far more erotic than disturbing, and this unnerves me in more ways than one. 
*Skyla talking to Brielle (My favorite tease!) “I don’t know,” I sigh. “It’s just hard to believe senior year is over. Life just seems like its on fast-forward. One day we’re going to wake up and we’ll be old. The sad part is we probably won’t even notice. I mean, how the hell are we supposed to know we’re old?” “We’ll know we’re old when we start adding the words better than sex to our favorite desserts.”

The Tuesday Tease~!

Welcome back to the Tuesday tease! As we begin the long goodbye to Celestra I thought I’d pepper the Tuesday tease with some fun facts, mostly random stuff, I find amusing regarding the series and my time writing it in general.First, ELYSIAN edits are going great. It’s a large book so my editor has chopped it in half just for edits.   She’s finished the first half and now I’m combing over it in final read-throughs (yes, final!). I expect the rest either later this week or early, next. *somewhere Sarah cries* As for the unusual girth, I’m sure some will say why is this book so damn big? And others will say, hey this book isn’t that big at all! Where the hell’s rest of it? Whichever camp you find yourself in just know each word was born of love and perhaps a little too much lust on Skyla’s part, but I won’t take credit for that.5 random Celestra confessions!1. Since I began the series over two years ago I've gained what I not-so-affectionately call the Celestra 15. (I completely blame my addiction to Nutella.)2. My house looks wrecked twenty-four seven, unless company is coming then I put in a manic cleanup effort. But in my defense that’s exactly how I operated before Celestra, so there’s that.3. I never made it a practice to drink caffeinated coffee before writing the series and now I can’t even look at decaf. What’s the point?4. I’ve convinced myself that it’s OK to live in the alternate world of Paragon. Only half of the stuff that actually goes on in that island ever makes it into the books. ;) True story.5. While penning ETHEREAL, out on the patio, an overgrown crow (a raven perhaps?) made a concerted effort to hop around my laptop until finally I gave in and put him in my book. While penning ELYSIAN an overgrown crow (could it be the same freakishly large bird?) has been hovering around the house. When I take my laptop out back, he joins me. I think this proves that indeed, Nevermore lives.
I’m going to do my best to get a cover for ELYSIAN this week. I’m crazy deep in edits so if I’m slacking on anything, please forgive! And as soon as my betas read “the end” and let me know their thoughts, I’ll share them with you (albeit vaguely ;)So soon you’ll have all the answers! West High and its relatively psychotic student body will be but a memory. But, we’ll always have Paragon.On to the teasers!
THE SOLITUDE OF PASSION
*(Mitch saying goodbye to his pregnant wife, Lee, at LAX before departing for a business trip to China. He’s taking his brother Colt’s place on the trip.)
Lee swoops in and shoos Colt away. Her face is blotched, and her eyes stained with large, dark rings from crying. It’s a haunting image that sears itself into my mind before I can stop it.“Love you.” I press a kiss into her, deep and lingering, as if we were alone. I don’t usually make it a practice to make out with Lee in front of my mother, but this is an exception. I fight the urge to start breaking all sorts of carnal rules like taking off her clothes—having her right here at the baggage check in. “I can’t do this without you.” The words strangle out of her, broken in pieces, as she glides her hand over her stomach. My hearts breaks just witnessing all of the misery I’ve caused, and I haven’t even left yet. I sweep my thumb over her cheek and press in a kiss to her forehead.“I’ll be right back.” Made it sound like I was going to the refrigerator. “What if you’re not?” Her eyes are on fire with grief, her lips quiver with fear; although, I’d like to think it was the kiss I just delivered that was making her tremble.We hadn’t entertained the theory of anything tragic happening until now. Something tells me it’s too late to explore the concept, so I nip it. “But I will be,” I whisper. “I promise you. I’ll be okay. Don’t fall in love with Colt while I’m gone.”She shakes her head like a frightened schoolgirl. I want to add, if I don’t come back it’s okay to fall in love with Colt. Something tells me to say it, but I don’t. I crash my lips into hers instead.

ELYSIAN (Celestra Series Book 8) The Final book in the young adult series
*(Skyla at the senior rally)I tried to find Marshall before the rally began but he was nowhere to be found. He’s faculty, and perverted—he’s practically required to attend all events that star teenaged girls in their skivvies.  
*(Brielle giving Skyla advice on her love life while getting ready for Halloween) “Hey you just called yourself his girlfriend. I think that’s a part of the problem. You think each one of them is your boyfriend. You’re going to have to deal with the fact that you need to let two of them go.” She dots my forehead aggressively with a charcoal finish. “I know! Why don’t you envision them each with another girl, and the one you’re the most pissed at for cheating is the one you can’t live without.”
*(Marshall, Skyla, Candace, Logan)“Marshall,” I say it breathless. “That was so incredible.”A gavel sounds, and I look in the direction of the clatter to find my mother seated with the Justice Alliance. The erotic rooms filled with our love are all but gone, replaced with the Elysian Fields. My mother and her panel are seated high over a lake that reflects the lavender sky.“What was so incredible, Skyla?” My mother rises to greet me.“Yes, Skyla.” Logan pops up beside me and reels me in. “What was so incredible?”

He slips his arm around my waist and pulls me in. My entire body sighs into his.“Why don’t we delve a little deeper just this once,” he whispers.“Just this once,” it quivers from me.

“Well done. I think you were impeccable.”“You can stop kissing my ass.” I avert my eyes. “It’s not like my mother is here to witness it. Or wait, maybe you’re taping this so you could play it all back later. Oh look Lizbeth, I tried to be nice but your daughter is just such a little bitch she wouldn’t have it.” I stick my finger down my throat and gag.

It’s here again! Tuesday! Welcome back to the Tuesday tease. I was going to tease another book as well as Elysian but I’m barreling through edits so I think I’ll give it another week. I managed to send most of the book to my editor and betas to get the ball rolling. The book is very loooong, and I don’t think I’ll ever write another one quite this long again but for Celestra, especially since it’s the last one, I’ll let this slide. ;)  And here’s a fun fact about the final book: if you skip ahead to the end to see who Skyla chooses, you won’t understand a darn thing! *holds back a smile*Was that too wicked of me? Maybe. Or maybe I have far more wicked things in store…

I was thinking of a hostage situation.”Figures. Chloe’s prank involves a medley of her specialties—prisoners and death. “Listen”—Brielle pushes out a breath—“I’m all for ‘bonding” with you guys, but I’d rather do it outside of the pen. Let’s think legal, and naked boys.”Brielle always has her priorities straight.

I glance back and notice that both Logan and Gage are watching me like hawks. The future and all of its secrets get buried by the love those two are emanating in my direction.I wish it was last year, that I still had Logan on a string, and Gage lying over me like a bulletproof vest—Marshall and all of his sexual musings wrapped around me like a blanket.Damn I hate the future.

Now for some odd news…Saturday morning I wake up groggy, sans coffee, flip open the laptop and see the new ad for this season of the Bachelorette. Fun right? I’m their biggest fan so I’m already there! But I must say I was a bit surprised when I saw the dress the new bachelorette donned to kick off her hormone-laden journey. It looked a little familiar. Like really familiar. As in Laken Stewart, familiar. Well, anyway here are my book covers, and their ad for the new season so we can do a little juxtaposition…



SO what do you think? A little photo-shopping and I can use it as the final cover for the trilogy. Right? I’m teasing. I’m totally awestruck to be in such great company. And I guess this is a great time to tell you all about my New Adult book entitled, THE FINAL ROSE, in which my protagonist Christina Harrison goes on a wild and steamy adventure while shopping for love on a reality show. Sounds cool, right? I jest. I JEST!!! I love my covers. I love their ad—great minds and all that good stuff. I’m still their number one fan. Or at least I will be once I procure some tickets to the season finale.

The Tuesday Tease

It’s Tuesday.First, super big hugs to everyone because yesterday was a tough day. My heart goes out to all those in Boston, and to every hurting soul on the planet. Evil doesn’t win. It Can’t. It won’t.I had a huge giveaway planned for today but I didn't think it was appropriate so I’m going to move it quite possibly until next Tuesday. I’ll also have some big book news to share in a few days, so I might just couple it with that. The giveaway will happen. In fact, I bet if we sawed the violent Fem in half all sorts of green goo—I startle at what those twisted cords are connected to and all thoughts, all memory of autonomic responses leave my body as I forget to breathe.Chloe Bishop lies in the stainless casket next door. Her face pale as snow, her lips a muted shade of navy. Her unpolished fingernails have turned black at the base.“Holy shit,” Logan whispers.This is a dream within a dream—Chloe Bishop captured and drained for a noble purpose like piecing Ellis Harrison back together again. Chloe the white witch lies with her granular appearance, ashen as table salt. She looks marvelously dazed, her eyes crossing ever so slightly as she labors to breathe.“Sky—la,” she stutters out my name while locked in her death throes. It’s such a beautiful sight, I’d whip out my cell and take a picture, but I don’t want to miss a second of the action. Watching Chloe die has been my heart’s desire for some time now. “I’m here for you, Chloe.” I try to hide my blooming elation. “Go to the light.” But in Chloe’s case, it’s most likely the dark.

The pipes squeal and twist as the water shuts off, and a moment later Gage steps out in a vat of steam with nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist.“All dressed up and nowhere to go?” I tease, propping myself on my elbow to afford a better look. Gage is cut to precision with abs that ripple, strong as steel. “Oh, I’ve got somewhere to go,” he says it low, most definitely seductive and a mild panic surges in me.Gage swoops in and lands beside me on the bed with dew from the shower still beading over his chest. He beams a wicked smile that lets me know it’s game on and Logan had better watch his pretty boy back. Gage is in it to win it, and I’m not sure how much fortitude I have to stave either one of them off.
