Woohoo Wednesday!
Happy Wednesday, peeps!
Song of the day- Only Girl (In The World) by Rihanna
Woohoo Wednesday is a weekly feature here at Cali Cheer Mom. Instead of letting ourselves get mired down by all the yuck that happens during the week, we look back at all the good that's happened and share it. Something good happen to you in the past week? Have something you're thankful for? Weigh in with a comment!
I'm beyond thankful for the group of wonderful people who braved traffic, dealt with babysitters and braved God knows what to come to my book signing yesterday. I'm truly blessed with wonderful friends, and lucky to have such awesome people in my life. I'm thankful I didn't stutter or become a tongue-tied mess as well. Woot!I'm excited I finally got to meet a bunch of my Twitter buddies in person. Lisa, Brenda, Robin and Killian (who I've met once before): You ladies are the best. I had a wonderful time chatting with you over dinner, and I hope we can meet up again soon.Hope you have a wonderful day! Take care!

Bragging on my girls :)
Happy Friday, peeps!
Song of the day- Halo/Walking On Sunshine by Glee Cast.
It's been a bit since I've posted a cheer video of my girls. Both Kendall and Taryn have been working really hard on their skills, and their efforts are truly paying off. Kendall's been focusing on her sets and gaining height to her tucks and layouts.
Taryn's been working on her tuck for a while now, and can finally perform the skill on her own. Booyah!
Yes, I realize this video is shameless bragging on my part. Indulge me. I'm a proud mama :D
Have a great Friday, everyone!

Alison Oburia, co-author of Passion Fish (a fabulous read!) will be at the Florida Writers Association Conference this weekend, October 22-24. Perfect time to introduce yourself (she's super sweet) and get a signed copy!
Omnific authors are some of the friendliest people I've come across, so don't be shy!
Here's the book trailer in case you haven't seen it.

It's been a trying week here in the Sanchez family, what with illness and lots of unforeseen crap, BUT, through it all my hubby has been a pillar of support. I love him dearly and am very thankful to have him in my life.I'm just beyond grateful for the generous outpouring of books and swag from my fellow Omnific authors and my author buddy, Brenda Pandos. I put out a call, seeking books or swag for my daughter's cheer gym raffle, and these ladies pulled through. All I can say, is authors are some of the nicest, most generous people around. Woot!Hope you have a wonderful day, everyone!

Douchebag award!
Morning, peeps!
Song of the day- Gives You Hell by the All American Rejects
It feels like I've written this post before. Feels like I've tweeted about this subject before. In fact, I'm pretty darn sure I've seen other authors beg, plead and talk until their voices go about about e-piracy lately, and still it continues.
I'm just a tad upset. Can you tell?
This morning I woke up to a Google alert for EOS, this one linking to a request with a link to a download of my book.
Uncool.
I don't make much for my books, people. In fact, my last check was enough to pay for one of my daughter's cheer bows. One bow people. That tells you something.
It wasn't until a few weeks ago that I had the money to pay for design work on my author website. My book came out in May, and here it is almost November. Did it suck waiting? Yes! But I didn't go out and steal my designer's work? No! I saved up my pennies (from my book sales that people keep stealing) and waited until I had enough money and then purchased the design work.
When you steal from me, it hurts. Downloading books illegally hurts the author you are stealing from. Please, think before you do it!
I'm hereby bestowing the title of Douchee-Bagée to the thoughtless people who pirate ebooks. These people are the worst of all known douchbags and should be ashamed of themselves!
