'We Found Each Other in Libertarianism'

Writes Ari Shapiro for WBUR:

In short, [Ron] Paul is not a typical Republican candidate, and his supporters are not typical Republican voters. He wants to shrink the military, end the Federal Reserve, overturn the Patriot Act and legalize marijuana. He has been making these arguments for decades.

Robin and Tom Jacubic are a husband and wife who had sat on opposite ends of the political spectrum for years.

"I was for Ned Lamont because he was anti-war," says Robin, "and when the Democrats took over in 2006, nobody did anything to stop the war, so I found Dr. Paul from there."

"He is the only one in the Republican race that knows what he's doing, knows what he's saying and has the answers," adds her conservative husband.

After a decade of married life supporting opposing political candidates, "We found each other in libertarianism," says Robin.

Anonymous Endorses Ron Paul, Pretty Much

Tweet:

No surprise here, but we would indeed welcome @RonPaul as next President of the United States. Definitely the smallest evil. #AntiSec

Barron's Attacks Ron Paul

Why, why, Ron's investments go against everything a Merrill Lynch salesman would advise! Darn right. Also, the neocon tabloid calls Ron the "doom and gloom" (i.e., truthful) candidate. But those who want to wage constant mass murder in the Middle East, establish an anti-Muslim police state in the US, and strengthen US corporatism, banksterism, and the empire, they're happy fellas.

1 Reason for the Blackout of Ron Paul

Media arrogance, says his friend Walter Jones (R-NC).

GOOP Instead of GOP

Bert Mueller asks what GOOP stands for: Ghouls Ogling Our Property. And thanks to those who let me know that Gwyneth Paltrow beat me to it, albeit non-politically.

RP Firing on All Cylinders

Writes Max, a student at NYU:

Dr Paul's really unbelievable--a hero. It's fitting he's an OBGYN...he's helping birth a new era of liberty.

In the speech at the campaign hq opening he said that you just need to stick to themessage...years from now, he will be credited with revitalizing the country with the spirit of freedom. (Although Rothbard will be remembered as the grandfather of the revolution.)

He's inspiring and lighting a fire under me. Exciting times.

Ron the Amazing

He challenges other candidates who questions his age to a 20 mile bike ride at noon in summer Texas, when it's 100 degrees in the shade with 100% humidity. They'll be dropping like flies. (Thanks o Joe Sansone)
