July 20, 2015: Dopple Spyke's Disappearing In A Blink

What is DoDopple Spykepple Spyke, you may ask? This vinyl Funko figure comes in the two-tone color scheme, just like the original printings of Munchkin , as a nod to the game's history. So it's like vintage-colored! These are disappearing fast.

While it's been super successful, we've no plans to reprint this through Funko. We still have the full color and glow-in-the-dark Spyke toys available, but for people who love collectible toys, be sure to add the Dopple Spyke to your collection. It includes an exclusive Munchkin card, too!

Find it now at your favorite local game store or online at Warehouse 23!

July 21, 2015: Announcing Munchkin Oz

Munchkin Oz We are very pleased to announce that our newest Munchkin game, Munchkin Oz , has started appearing on shelves in Target stores across the United States. Over the next few weeks, we expect to see it roll out to the rest of the country and appear on target.com as well. You can read our press release to find out more.

Pairing up Munchkin with L. Frank Baum's classic stories – the stories that gave us the term "munchkin," after all! – has been a lot of fun, and we can't wait for y'all to see the result and play the new game.

If you want to hear more about this new game straight from the developer, Andrew and Rhea will be hosting #SJGamesLive this week on Wednesday at 6 p.m. Central Time – click the hashtag or follow us on Twitter for more information!

July 22, 2015: Munchkin Hipsters Is . . . I Mean, Whatever

Munchkin Hipsters

So we did this thing. I mean, you probably haven't heard of it. It's called Munchkin Hipsters . Anyway, we're selling it through this little boutique online store called ThinkGeek. It's a double-sized booster, 30 cards, if you're into that sort of thing. Maybe play it while you're listening to some obscure LP. Drink a double venti mocha-frappa-latte or something.

P.S. The link will take you to ThinkGeek's website, where you can purchase either the core set or the  Munchkin Hipsters  booster. Click the little checkbox in the listing if you want the booster!

July 23, 2015: Brick Fiesta Is This Weekend In Austin!

Brick Fiesta is a Lego fan convention. It moves between cities, and for 2015 it will be back in Austin. I will be there; Guy Himber of Crazy Bricks will be Guest of Honor. SJ Games will have a booth next to Guy's, and in one or the other of them, you will definitely be able to get Guy's Munchkin Bricks. Guy will be presenting his giant Munchkin board built of bricks, and you will have a chance to win a seat at a raffle and attempt to school both me and Guy in the finer points of munchkining. There will also be a display of giant Castellan pieces - no, we don't have enough yet to play the whole game, but it's a goal!

There will also be massive quantities of other Lego-geeky stuff. Robots, the Great Ball Contraption, Lego artwork, trains . . . traaaaaiiiiinnnnns . . .

So you should come if (a) you're in Austin and you're enough of a game fan to be reading this – in which case you want the two-day membership – or (b) you're a Lego fan anywhere in Texas, in which case you want the full four-day Total Geek membership. Which is not actually called that, but should be.

July 19, 2015: MIB Report: Richmond, CA Vs. Mind Control Lasers!

While the Outer Space Treaty of 1967 bans the establishment of military bases or weapons of mass destruction in space, no one has ever passed a treaty or law banning more modest weapons, or the beloved OMCLs. Until now.

The City of Richmond, California, on behalf of residents who claim to be "targeted individuals who claim to be under assault from weaponry that should be outlawed", has passed a resolution supporting the oft-introduced but never out-of-committee Space Preservation Act. According to the minutes, thirteen individuals including one doctor gave comments on the resolution. The resolution had only one misspelling . . .

Read it here.

July 17, 2015: It's A Prime Time For Slime Time With GURPS!

GURPS Dungeon Fantasy Monsters 2: Icky Goo

GURPS Dungeon Fantasy heroes are used to looking danger in the eye. But what if the threat doesn't have eyes? What if the encounter is more pseudopod-y and poisonous, more slimy and surreptitious? The slick answers can be found within the pages of GURPS Dungeon Fantasy Monsters 2: Icky Goo , the latest supplement for Dungeon Fantasy .

Written by GURPS genius Sean Punch, Icky Goo covers the biological realm between "alive" and "a trap." (See what we did there? Covers? Sorry; slime joke.) It includes fungi, jellies, molds, oozes, slimes, and other disgusting denizens! Each entity has a full description, including how it fits into the dungeoneering ecosystem, its abilities and tactics, and a slew of ways to vary each one. (Slew – monster joke? Sorry again.) Discover the variety of short- and long-range defenses for fungi, the capabilities of different colors of mold, the nasty effects of spore clouds, and much more. And you'll learn other secrets of these biohazardous baddies, including what treasures they might guard, how they can be used as a treasure, and how other monsters use them to their advantage.

With Dungeon Fantasy Monsters 2: Icky Goo , your crypt-crawling heroes will never look the same way again at sludgy water, inky ceilings, or "harmless" toadstools again. Download it today, only from Warehouse 23, where (last joke incoming) your squish is our command!

July 18, 2015: Sit, Aibo, Sit. Good Boy.

It turns out that, just like their flesh and blood counterparts, Sony's Aibo robot dogs have a lifespan less than 20 years long. And because they were released about 16 years ago, many of these dogs are now dying.

Here's the story. Keep your tissues nearby.

Behold, the days of placing sheets of counters and rules into plastic boxes and then slapping stickers on the front.
