April 18, 2016: The Chez Geek Party Continues

It's been over 15 years since we published Chez Geek , and we're happy to report that it's remained a strong and consistent part of the Steve Jackson Games lineup. When I first started working on the game a few years ago, I was struck by how much of the content still rang true to my life experience - maybe a bit too close to home in some cases!



We've done some pretty exciting things with the game lately, and we're looking forward to doing a lot more. Chez Geek: House Party Edition gave the house a new coat of paint.  Chez Geek: Slack to the Future pokes fun at all the strange, wonderful ways to accumulate Slack brought about by the advent of social media and smartphones. Chez Geek: Spring Break lets you take your Slack-accumulating antics on the road, adding Event cards that change the rules for the whole table and create the kind of organized chaos we're so fond of.



We've also had a bit of good fortune with the triumphant return of Alain H. Dawson to SJ Games. She was essential to the development and success of the Chez Geek line when we first published it, and in addition to her current duties as Munchkin Licensing Manager, she has been helping to develop new content and enhance our strategy for the future of Chez .



There are big plans in store for Chez Geek , and we can't wait to share them with you. As always, watch this space for future announcements!

April 19, 2016: Hipsters Sold Out Of Our Main Warehouse

Both are fun to play at your local coffee shop while you and your friends sip on your French pressed brews with a pat of butter on top. April 17, 2016: A Report From The Illuminati Medical Branch

We finally seem to be getting over the plague that swept through the office. Phil and Sam were both knocked down for a couple of weeks; various other people caught the fringes of it and were out for shorter stretches. (And Steve got pneumonia, which is a whole other variety of yuck.) If you've been waiting to hear from someone here, you might want to send a poke. It's very possible they were down for the count and your note slipped past them. 



Please consider this your every-so-often reminder to wash your hands frequently, avoid sneezing or coughing on people or on items that other people will have to touch, and if your job permits, stay home when you're sick. Your coworkers will thank you.

April 16, 2016: The Magic Of Munchkin Oz

As a kid, I read all of the Wizard of Oz books the local library had while I was home from school with the chicken pox. The books have a special place in my heart, so I was excited to play a Wizard of Oz version of Munchkin .



Munchkin Oz is a wonderful version of the classic game Munchkin , made with the fans of L. Frank Baum's books in mind. Tons of iconic monsters and characters are quite Oz-some to see. You can loot the body in a normal game of Munchkin , but it is so satisfying stealing while playing a game based around the story of a little girl murdering an old lady and taking her shoes. Looking through Munchkin Oz really was a Throwback Thursday (or #TBT for all the cool kids) for me. You'll really have to be a wiz to catch all the jokes. Even if you have never read the books, the imagery and Oz-ful puns makes the game a delight for everyone!
