Don't Forget the Gratitude

This unbelievably inspiring clip from Rabbi Shalom Arush tells the dramatic story of a woman giving birth to a baby that was born nearly lifeless. Look at the power of gratitude in triggering miraculous salvations...

Garden of Wisdom Lesson #80 Belief in Tzaddikim

In order for the Clever One to prove that there is no king, he has to go out of his way to prove that the miracle worker is a hoax, because once a person sees the miracle worker, he readily sees the king

Today, we'll learn why it's so important to believe in tzaddikim. Enjoy!

The King's Driver

King's Driver
The man looked out the window and his eyes nearly popped out of his head. The young man who was about to take his daughter on a date just pulled up in the driveway in an $8 million Mercedes-Benz Maybach Exelero. Where did ever get such a car?

What's your dream, a new Mercedes? Or maybe your health is much more important. What are you asking for in your prayers?

Don't think that an $8 million Mercedes-Benz Maybach Exelero is a big deal to ask for from Hashem. You are certainly allowed to pray for it, or for anything else you want.

How would you like to have the ability to pray perfectly and to have those prayers answered? It's possible! Today's emuna lesson teaches us what constitutes perfect prayer, the type of prayer from which you never come back empty-handed...

Don't miss today's emuna lesson and live broadcast from Jerusalem entitled "The King's Driver", which will take place, G-d willing, on the ground-floor main sanctuary of the Chut Shel Chessed Yeshiva on 13 Shmuel Hanavi Street in Jerusalem at 7 PM Israel time; the shiur is open to the public - both men and women are invited. You can see today's lesson here - the broadcast, as well as our lessons posted from now on - are Mac and iPod compatible. If you tune in too early to the live broadcast link, you'll be sent to the main page of the Breslev Israel website, so try to tune in on time.  If you are not able to view today's broadcast live, then G-d willing, you'll be able to see the video tape of it later this coming week on Lazer Beams.

Today! Say "Parshat HaMan" to Insure a Good Income

Parshat Ha'man

Don't forget to say "Parshat HaMan" today: Segula (spiritually-invoking ploy) for a good income - on the Tuesday of the Parshat Beshalach week, our sages tell us that it's an opportune time to recite "Parshat HaMan", the story of the manna, the Heaven-sent bread that sustained the Children of Israel for forty years in the desert. One should read it in Hebrew if possible, twice mikra and once targum. For your convenience, here is a clearly presented Parshat HaMan which you are more than welcome to download. If you read English only, then I've translated it for you, here: Download Parshat HaMan - English. May Hashem send a wonderful income to everyone, amen!

Way Above the Angels

2Above Clouds
Angels are programmed - they can only do good. They're like a team that won an important game, but there wasn't an opposing team in the field...

If people possessed no free will, what delight would the Creator have? If they didn't have "opposition" to doing good - in other words, an evil inclination - what reward would they deserve? They'd be just like the boxer who calls himself a champion, but there was no opponent in the ring.

Here's another example: a person chosen from among a number of candidates feels satisfaction and delight; but if he is chosen because there is no alternative, he feels no delight. On an infinitely different level, if Hashem's goodness were revealed to all, obviously everyone would choose Him, and He would have no satisfaction and delight. The Creator wants people to choose him precisely when He is concealed. That is what gives Him true satisfaction. To do so, we must overcome a huge evil inclination. When we do, we go - as Rabbi Shalom Arush shows us - Higher than the Angels.

Here are more fantastic articles that you'll find in this week's new issue of Breslev Israel web magazine:

Rabbi Lazer Brody - Friend of the Soul

Gedale Fenster - The Power of a Decision

Racheli Reckles - Get Off My Back!

Roger Price - That's So Annoying

Rivka Malka Perlman - Who Gets More?

David Ben Horin - Cure for Every Crisis

David Perlow - Safe Lifting

Edna Kadosh - Think Less, Do More

Enjoy, and have a lovely new week!

Therefore, when a person is wallowing in darkness and surrounded by evil, yet he desires Hashem, he gives greater delight to Him than the delight that comes to the Creator from a great tzaddik who chooses goodness when he encounters darkness and obstacles.

Getting Past the Peel

Shavua Tov! It's easy to peel an orange, but it's not so easy to peel away the many layers that we hide behind or disguise ourselves with. Today's lesson will help us get started

Rabbi Shalom Arush: Living in Emuna

Emuna is not some academic concept as to whether it's beneficial to believe or not. It's a constant battle that affects every moment of life. Will I believe in Hashem or will I believe in nature? Here's a powerful message from Rabbi Shalom Arush; enjoy it and have a lovely Shabbat!

Miami Winter

IMG_5848

So yesterday we enjoyed a cold blast of winter air.

The high was 70 degrees and the low was 52 or something. F-f-f-f-freeeezing!!!

Seriously. I put jackets and sweaters on my complaining kids. After school, we celebrated the Arctic-like weather with a nice camp fire.

What are those things called? Bonfires? Backyard fire hazards? Ah, fire pit! Right.

This is the first time I've enjoyed a fire pit, and I gotta say I'm loving it. Except for the 800 times my oldest one doused the fire with that liquid that makes fires grow. What's it called? Gas?

And my third one, as you can see in this picture, was busy making his marshmallows as carcinogenic as possible. Love the goggles. Pretty clever, right??

I made them hot chocolate milkies and we chilled in the backyard, waiting for the blizzard to arrive.

To my disappointment, the clouds refused to appear. The day was just too darn perfect!

South Florida doesn't have much of a winter, but there are rare days when the sky is crystal clear and it's cold enough to wear a nice sweater.

It's these days that I wish would never end.

Of course, until my kids started trying to wrestle each other into the fire pit. They thought it was cool. And all the while my oldest was seeing just how high he could make the fire jump.

Our neighbors hate us. I'm sure of it.

My point has almost nothing to do with this post, but it's still a good one if I do say so myself.

Yesterday was a beautiful day. I wanted every moment to last. I didn't want to let it go. I really cherished it as much as I could.

So I was thinking. We experience moments like these, but not enough. For whatever reason, we don't really cherish every moment of our lives.

That's probably because most of them are extremely challenging, so it's hard to see the good, or even take the time to slow down enough to see the good.

But I have a feeling that if we were to just try and find something in every day that we can truly cherish, something that we can say, "I wish this moment wouldn't end," how much better would each day be?

I think just one of these precious moments in the day would be enough to carry us through the other 99%.

Today, tomorrow, and even after tomorrow, if you can remember this post by then, be on the lookout for something in your day that's wonderful. Something you're really thankful for.

And don't let it go.

That is, until you forget about it five minutes later because your boss/client/spouse/kid is yelling at you to stop daydreaming and come back to reality.

Wishing you a wonderful Shabbat! And please, don't eat too much challah!

YEAH, RIGHT!!!

~Racheli
