3 Ways April 8s Total Solar Eclipse Reminds Us of Biblical Truth

In just a few days, a large swath of the US population (and even parts of Canada) is in for a treata total solar eclipse. Perhaps many of you remember (or experienced) the solar eclipse in 2017 and the overwhelming feeling of awe that celestial event inspired. Ill never forget it. Truly an awesome experience. Well, you can experience another total solar eclipse here in the US on April 8, and you will not want to miss this event that reminds us of biblical truth.

As you experience this ecli...

Why Do More Christians Now Support Same-Sex Marriage?

Another depressing poll was recently highlighted in a Christian Post article. The authors, John Stonestreet and Jared Hayden, present the causes for why gay marriage has been widely and rapidly accepted since 1996 (and even has trended upward more quickly in recent years). I have to give them credit, they mostly hit on the right causes and even lay out a very important one in Genesis, the created order. But they slightly miss the mark in summing up the root cause, but more on that later.

A...

Why Do You Seek the Living Among the Dead?

Happy Resurrection Sunday! What a joy to celebrate the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ from the grave and his victory over sin and death. For Mally and me, our favorite Easter hymn is this one, but sadly, very few churches sing it anymore:

Up from the grave He arose

With a mighty triumph oer His foes

He arose a Victor from the dark domain

And He lives forever with His saints to reign

He arose! (He arose)

He arose! (He arose)

Hallelujah! Christ arose!

Its only because of Chr...

Creation Basics: Can Christians Believe in Evolution?

Theres a growing group of academics, theologians, and even pastors trying to convince lay Christians that they can believe in evolution. Of course, this is nothing new; such a push to compromise Gods Word with evolution has been going on since the belief in millions of years and evolutionary ideas were popularized in the 1800s. They argue that its a scientific reality (its notits a belief about the past) and therefore Christians must accept it. But we shouldnt allow the wor...

Dont Miss the Details!

When you visit the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter exhibits, make sure you take time to look at all the items in each one and think about them in light of a biblical worldview beginning with Genesis 111.

Many people dont realize there is so much more to each exhibit than the focal point that first catches their attention. For instance, take the animatronic Methuselah exhibit at the Creation Museum. You may just see Methuselah and hear him give his message (which is an important one to li...

Has Evolution Ground to a Stop in Living Fossil Gars?

A recent news item caught my eye. It states that a biological mechanism can explain [gars] status as living fossils. Now, the term living fossil applies to a creature that, from an evolutionary perspective, supposedly appears in the fossil record millions of years ago yet the same creature is still found living today. Gar fish (which we also have in the large aquarium in the Main Hall at the Creation Museum) are considered to be living fossils.

So what was this biologi...

Are Men and Women the Same?

This month is Womens History Month in the United States, and March 8 was globally celebrated as International Womens Day. Now, on the International Womens Day official website it says, Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world thats diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge womens equality. But what do they mean by equality?

Well, they speak of valuing a...

A Foundational Battle

Ive had many Christians express dismay at what they see as a plethora of problems in the culturesuch as abortion, gender issues, LGBTQ, gay marriage, racism, and so on. They have said to me that there are so many problems to battlewe cant fight them all. Its almost like they want to throw their hands in the air and give up, as the problems seem so overwhelming.

Secular worldview

Sadly, many churches havent taught people to think foundationally, and thus they dont understand that all the...

Is Religion Losing Influence in Public Life?

A recent Pew survey was released which found that 80% of US adults say religions role in American life is shrinking, up from 74% in 2022. While there was some good news, most of it was bad news, showing that we live in a religious sentimental culture that has no interest in the things of God. The survey was conducted from February 1325, 2024, among a US representative population sample of 12,693 US adults.

Everyone has a religion, as everyone has a worldview based on a foundation (pr...
