The Fall of Man – Post-Apocalyptic Book Review

91IN6LpwgiLAuthor J.V. Roberts has weaved together an exciting post-apocalyptic world inThe Fall of Man, the first book in The Saboteur Chronicles.

The premise of this world is that after the bombs fell, there were two factions—the Union and the Rebels. There was a war between them, but there’s now a shaky truce between them.

The depiction of the two sides and how both can be equally ugly was one of the best parts of the book. There are shades of countless similar conflicts that humanity has been throug...

Fat Vampire review

71M38ko-5bL._SL1012_Fat Vampire starts off really good. The first book in the series is without a doubt the best. Anyone who’s listened to the Self Publishing Podcast or Better Off Undead/Worst Show Ever knows that Johnny B. Truant is a really witty guy, and that definitely shines through in this book. There were so many lines that had me chuckling and the scene when Reginald is running had me in stitches.

As the series goes on, the humor becomes a lot more subdued. While this is made up for in a really intrigui...

Make a writing schedule

schedule_clipartAnswer the following questions:

When is the deadline for your current writing project? What is your next project going to be and when will it be due? When will your next book be published?

If youcan’t rattle off the answers to these questions right away or if you don’t have the answers written down somewhere easily accessible, then we’ve got a problem.

As much as you might hate them, the truth is that we need deadlines.Humans love to procrastinate. If we don’t haveregular deadlines, then we...

Why I joined Kindle Unlimited

ku

Back when Kindle Unlimited was first announced, I said I wasn’t going to join it. The reasons were that I didn’t like the idea ofgiving Amazon exclusivity over my content and also because I didn’t like the royalty pay-out of a flat rate per book regardless of the book’s price. Compared to the competing subscription services of Oyster and Scribd (which pay you a percentage of the book’s list price), I didn’t think KU was very healthy.

But that was then and this is now. Amazon has since change...

Writing Fast

images_increasing-productivityStephen King recently wrote an opinion piece forThe New York Times entitled “Can A Novelist Be Too Productive?”In it, he addresses the myth by many in the literary community that being a prolific writer equals being a bad writer.

This is one of those myths that just won’t die and I have no idea why it continues to be perpetuated.Think for a minute about the other arts. A person who wants to be a painter is encouraged to paint a lot. A person who wants to be a musician is encouraged to practic...
