Sadistman v. Mopeman: Yawn of Justice
Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice came out in Japan today. Since I had nothing better to do (and since I apparently also make awful life decisions), I went to see it in the theater against my better judgment.
Note to self:Never doubt your instincts again.
To call this movie bad is an insult to bad movies everywhere. It’s awful on just about every conceivable level—probably even hits a fewheretofore undiscovered levels of terrible.
In case you haven’t realized yet, this review is going to be...

How many books equals success?
Last night, I was shown this blog postby Claude Forthomme. The link was shared with me by a fellow indie who was surprised byForthomme’s headline, “Only 40 Self Published Authors are a Success, says Amazon.”
Only forty? That seems pretty low. Especially because the definition of success is extremely subjective.
One author may define success as winning awards. Another might define itby the size of their mailing list. Still another may say they aren’t successful unlesstheybecome aNew York Times...

Knowing when to rewrite
Last week, I came very close to finishingVanguard #14. In fact, I wasless than a thousand words from the finish line. I’m already behind schedule on completion of season three, thanks in part to some unexpected computer repairs.
But still, I realized what the problem was. It wasn’tthe stress of trying to meet the deadlines thatwas causing me to struggle. Instead, the problem was that the story just wasn’t right. At least not in the way I was telling it.
Originally,when I was mapping out the t...

Spectre Review
Daniel Craig’s stint as James Bond has been overall pretty good.Even though I didn’t think a reboot was needed,Casino Royale was a fresh take on the mythos and really did a great job bringing Bond into the twenty-first century (much likeGoldenEyedid for a post-Cold War Bond).
Quantum of Solace was a hot mess and the less said about that the better. ButSkyfall felt like a return to greatness in more ways than one. The third act was a little bit of a mess and I didn’t think we needed aHome Alon...
