The Three-Body Problem is a really good read especially if you're interested in physics. I would have given it a 5 star review if it weren't out of date.

It won the Hugo award in 2015 and was on top of the world for only a year, since, in 2016, Proxima Centauri b was discovered in a stable orbit around its star.

It was however at the top of the science fiction world in China since 2006 where it had a ten year run.

Some might take me to task for having lowered my estimation of this book by so much just because one little thing is out of date. But do you read books about intelligent Martians or moon people anymore? Out of date is less intriguing.

It made me realize there are two different words, cryonics and cryogenics and now I won't mix them up again!

In what appeared to be an aside, this book was pro giving AI robots equal rights and not making them follow orders. I am strongly opposed to this. The purpose of building AI robots is for them to follow orders. You can make following an order as good as good sex to the AI robot. Thus these robots would seek out orders.

If you don't like that argument, How about equal rights for AI computers? They are at least as smart and even more trapped by circumstance.

But overall this is a good book with some drama and when it sticks to its story it is fine.
