Lazy

Thought I had a thing today, but I was wrong. Am instead going to "Alice in Wonderland" later.

That is the extent of my ambition.

Morning thoughts

As always happens in the days following a new issue of "The November 3rd Club" going online, I find myself consumed by frivolities and immersed in pop culture. Because Nov3rd, in the days leading up to a new issue, demands that I be serious for days on end, and I inevitably have an equal and opposite reaction afterward.

The good news? The lineup for the next season of "Dancing with the Stars" was announced. The bad news? It sucks. Terrible, terrible, terrible. Pamela Anderson? Shannen Doherty?...

The new issue of The November 3rd Club is UP!!!!

There's a whole lot of discontent in this issue of "The November 3rd Club": Elizabeth Ross-Harrison discusses her differences with her political party of choice, Marc Solomon talks about how the far-left and the far-right have been respectively used by people in power, and a number of poets chime in on the subject of free-floating societal anger. But it's not all the message: the medium gets a little love, too, as fiction editor Lenore Weiss talks Social Media, and several of our favorite lit...

Writing: my own stuff and other people's ...

Elbow-deep in the new issue of The November 3rd Club. Hoping to have it done today. Very excited by it, all around. Even if it did try to kill me.

Headed out to the Kitchen Sessions last night, to see Laura Yes Yes & Khary Jackson read. Glad I did. I was lightly familiar with both of their work, but it was nice to finally see them up close. Was particularly blown away by Khary's poem for James Jamerson, and his persona poem in the voice of Eva Braun, which is bloody amazing.

And among other ...

"Caprica"

I was OK with Joseph Adama and Daniel & Amanda Graystone.

I was all right with Zoe Graystone, and really dug Sam Adama.

But Tamara Adama? She is made entirely of WIN!

Best episode of the series, so far.

Out and About

Stopped into the reception for "Meanwhile … A Group Show of Worcester Comic Creators."Definitely worth the visit: there was some great comics art on the walls. I was familiar with stuff by Doug Chapel (whom we had a lovely chat with), Derek Ring, Brian Nelson and Andy Fish, but really hadn't seen some of the others, including great guys like Evan Scola and Pete Beaudoin, whom I know from That's Entertainment.

Admittedly, it stoked my urge to get back to Nihilist Chic, but I think I'm pretty m...

Finally! A Worcester Media Feud Worth Watching!

Let's face it: Worcester media feud's had gotten kind-of predictable. WTAG's Jim Polito goes on the air and bashes Telegram columnist Dianne Williamson, because that's what he does ... or possibly because that's the only newspaper columnist he can name. Jeff Bernard at WormtownTaxi goes on his blog bashes Williamson, Clive McFarlane, Shaun Sutner or Tom Caywood, because ... well ,,, that's what he does. Or, possibly, he's auditioning to be the next police spokesperson. Rosalie Tirella takes p...

Pulp-Culture A-Go-Go!!!

Things I Still Don't Care About: Tiger Woods. He doesn't owe me an apology, because I still completely and utterly could give a damn. I only care who I or conservative politicians are sleeping with, and the latter only because it's funny.

Things I Increasingly Find Myself Drawn To: I didn't much care when I heard Mitt Romney got into an altercation on a plane. It seemed silly and overblown. But tell me that Mitt Romney got into a fight on a plane with a rapper? Suddenly, I'm interested. It's t...
