My first print book!

I'm so excited! Noble Romance are releasing One Night In Bangkok & Singapore Fling in print under the title Passport to Passion Collection and I'm thrilled to reveal the gorgeous new cover -

I love it! Fiona out did herself again. I can't wait to hold one in my hand and I might not have to wait more than a week. Woot!

Reviews and news.

* screeches to a halt* Damn things are busy around here. Thank my lucky stars it's all a good type of busy. The big news this week is that One Night In Bangkok and Singapore Fling will soon be available in print! Woot! They'll be bundled in to one book but that's fine with me. I'l be sure to post more details as I get them. And for those of you who are planning to attend either the Australian Romance Readers Convention or the Romantic Times Convention you just might be lucky enough to receive a copy from me. *grin* I'll have some with me and will be carrying them around as giveaways so be sure to come find me.

And now onto the reviews.

Doing Logan was Joyfully reviewed! Thanks to Miranda for her lovely comments. You can check out the full review HERE! but as usual I thought I'd share a snippet:-

"I love Logan's determination from the start.  Telling her this is definitely not a one night stand and she better get used to having him around."

Coyote Run was reviewed by Terrie over at Bitten By Books. Check out her review HERE! I liked this line:-

"It's a little intriguing in set-up, drawing you in and ensuring that you postulate on what happens next."

Oh, and for those who are fans of the coyotes you'll be happy to know I'm working on Steve and Doc's story and hoping to have it to my editor by the end of April.

Out of the dark.

*blink, blink*

Is that sunlight? Why yes it is and I saw it not through a window but on my skin! lol Yes, I've finally dragged my ass out of the writing cave. I can slow down now but I have to say I'm mighty proud of what I've achieved in the last month. I've written over 40,000 words, and have two new contracts! Yay me! You know about Bondi Beach Boys and I've mentioned Truth Or Dare before and as soon as I've signed official papers I'll be telling you more.

The next month or so is going to be just as busy as the last. I'm off to the Australian Romance Readers Convention in Bondi. *giggle* Yes, the convention did inspire the story. The ARRC is March 25th to 27th and you can find out all the details HERE. After that I'm home a week and then I'm on a plane and winging my way to LA for the Romantic Times Convention, April 6th to 10th. Check out the details HERE. If you're at either event come find me. I'll have a bag of goodies to give away and I'd love to chat, maybe grab a drink in the bar….

Okay, I've fiddled with the website, added both the above books to the coming soon page and tweaked a few other things. Now I just have to get that newsletter done and I'll be just about caught up. Maybe, hopefully. *grin* But as I've been a really, really good girl and met my goals I'm going shopping! I've got some GC money burning a hole in my pocket. So, any good recs for reading material I should pick up?

New Contract!

I'm pleased to announce I've signed a new contract for a short m/m/f novella titled Bondi Beach Boys. I'm even more excited to be working with a new publisher on this one. Etopia Press is proving to be wonderful to work with and as I'm kinda stepping out of my comfort zone with this one I think it's appropriate that the boys found a new place to play. *grin*

I'll have more info soon, I'm caught in another deadline right now and really shouldn't be here but wanted to share my good news. Should surface from the writing cave around Friday but in the mean time head over to PASSIONATE READS to hear a little more about the boys and to read the blurb. CLICK HERE

Oh, and I'll be sending out a newsletter this weekend so if you're not signed up and don't want to miss out on all my news you better get to it. *grin*

Deadlines, life and little white jackets.

Oh man, I'm exhausted. Not physically but mentally. Then again I'm probably just mental. *grin* So I'm working two deadlines at the moment and getting ready for two conferences AND running a house with seven people, four cats and uncontrollable reproductive skills of my laundry. *big sigh* But I will admit that while I'm flat out like a lizard drinking I've managed some great word count numbers in recent days. Last week I got 10k written and even managed to submit a short novella which my lab rats (beta readers) liked. A lot. Fingers crossed the editor feels the same way. *grin* This week has been one big roller coaster. Up. Down. Up. Down. Got two R's this week too. Coming on the back of my double double nominations it was a serious slap to the face but I don't have time to wallow. Okay, fine, I wallowed for a bit but then it was back to the work.

So I'm busy trying to get all my ducks in a row ready for my time away from the computer while I'm at the ARRC2011 and RT. I'll hopefully get to do a post up on where I'll be and when sometime this week. Gotta hit that other deadline though and it's arriving quicker than I thought. So while I'm on a 'mental' break today (because I'm sure I wouldn't look too pretty in one of those little white jackets) I'll be back at it tomorrow because I need to pull out another 10k week at least. Wish me luck.

I've been nominated. Twice!

Actually that would twice twice! *grin* First I got this one -

I'm shocked and thrilled to be nominated twice in the Australian Romance Readers Awards for 2010. Coyote Home and Coyote Wild have been nominated for Favorite Erotic Romance! I keep going back to the ARRA blog to check I didn't read it wrong. *grin* I'm not counting on a win, I'm not silly, I've seen the names I'm up against but I have to say I'm proud to be standing next to them. It's going to make the ARRC and the awards dinner a hell of lot more exciting. You can see the full list of nominations for all the awards HERE!

And then I got this one -

TWICE! Yep, both Coyote Home and Coyote Wild are up for The Long & The Short of It Whipped Cream Reviews Best Book of 2010. Forgive me if I seem to walking on air and not making any sense. I haven't seen who else is up for this one yet but as the voting is supposed to go live on Feb. 14 (US time) I'll no soon enough. I'm so excited I'm not sure I want to be in the same room as me right now. *grin*

I can't believe I'm a double double nominee. It's kinda strange to go up against myself but hey, if I'm going to get beaten out it may as well be by me. LOL

Five Siren Stones for Coyote Wild.

A big thank you to Nikki over at Siren Book Reviews for taking the time to read and review Coyote Wild. I was thrilled that she liked Brogan and El's story. You can read the full review HERE! And as usual I'm going to share a little bit of the review that really made me smile -

"By the time I finished it, I was panting for more."

And this bit -

"Rhian Cahill is an exceptional author who writes a fast paced, intriguing book."

Have to say it's a great feeling when someone likes one of your stories. I'm usually smiling for days after and I do have a file of all my reviews so I can go back and read them when writing is proving hard. Like today. *sigh* Pulling teeth with tweezers would be easier….

Who's that stranger?

You might be asking yourself that right now. It's been a while since I've blogged. I've got excuses but they're just hot air and sound. *sigh* Life has kinda kicked me in the teeth lately but in my usual don't-eff'en-care style I'm clawing my way back. Yesterday was my birthday, I won't tell you how old I am, I'm in denial. Anyway, I've been trying to get back into the new school year (in Oz the kids go to school from Feb to early Dec so we're winding up for the start of another educational bombardment. Princess & the Pea and The Kid are glad to be back but then that could just be they're glad to not have me in their face about cleaning their rooms for 6 hrs of the day. *grin*

In writing news I'm madly putting the finishing touches on two wip's. Both are close to being ready and I'm hoping to have some good news to share on that front soon. Received a lovely rejection for Ryan's story and yes, it was lovely. But not to be kept down he's now in the hands of another editor and hopefully I'll be hearing about that soon.

I'm starting to prepare for the two conferences I've got coming up. First I'll be at the Australian Romance Readers Convention, 25th, 26th and 27th of March, here in Sydney, and then I'll be winging it all the way to LA for the Romantic Times Convention, 6th to 10th of April. It'll be a busy few weeks and I'm trying not to get too excited about it all but as they get closer it's hard to contain the buzz. Then again……screw it. wwwwweeeeeeeeeee…..

So now that summer is nearly over (not that you'd know it by the heatwave currently turning Sydney into Hell) and the Tribe are back into a new year I'm getting things back on track with my writing and hoping to put a dent in my wip's. Got some goals this year that I really want to make so I'll be doing my best to see that I do. And those goals include blogging, definitely need to get back to doing some posts a little more regularly. That and my newsletter. Should get one of those out soon too. I was waiting for some good news to share but I figure I can share that when it comes in anyway.

Well it's back to work for me.

The Aussie Spirit shines even when it rains.

This week in the land down under has been a tough one and it's going to get tougher as the waters recede and still towns are being flooded and people are losing everything. It's hard to imagine this type of event but the images being show all over the world give you a clue as to how destructive flood waters can be. As we wait to see who will be next in the devastating natural disaster the Aussie spirit is not dampened and people are pitching in to help prepare for the coming water as well as getting in there to help when the water goes.

The clean up after something like this won't take weeks, it'll take years. There are plenty of ways you can help here a just a few -

RWA Flooded Communities Book Appeal

We've all seen the devastation the recent Queensland floods have wrought and have wondered how we can help. We know that for many affected families, books will not be high on their priorities list for some time to come.

But…

We also know how valuable books can be in providing time out when reality gets tough.

So…

With the aid of some wonderful volunteers, we've put together a Romance Writers of Australia Flooded Communities Book Appeal.

What we need?

FICTION BOOKS! Romance books, children's books, young adult books, genre books, whatever – either new or in sparkling condition.

Please send them to:

RWA Flooded Communities Book Appeal

PO Box 1717

Noosaville Post Office

Noosaville BC

Queensland 4566

When to send them?

Now! And any time over the next few months. The books will be boxed and delivered to the appropriate libraries/schools/neighbourhood centres/community centres in batches as soon as the communities are ready to receive them. We'll be liaising with councils, libraries and schools to ensure this is done appropriately. Feel free to pop a note inside, or if you're an author, sign it.

Questions:

If you have a question about donations, email Jess Anastasi: Jess@jessanastasi.com

If you work in a library / council / community centre / school in a flood affected area, email Rachel Bailey: rachel@rachelbailey.com.au

Or if you're able to donate some money to the flood relief fund you can find out how here - http://www.qld.gov.au/floods/donate.html

Plus if you live in or around the area there are numerous way you can lend a helping hand, even if it's just to go lend a shoulder for someone to lean on. You can find info on how here - http://www.qld.gov.au/floods/volunteer.html

Any and all help will be much appreciated.

Rhian

Edited to add:- Linda just brought up a good point in her comment. Please, if you know of anyone able to help, forward this information on to them. Thank you.

January 10, 2011

Welcome to 2011

Wow, what a rush the end of 2010 was. I'm still trying to stop my head from spinning and there's probably no hope of me getting caught up anytime soon. For my first post of 2011 I thought I'd share some great reviews that have come in over the last month. (Yeah, I'm that far behind. *sigh*)

Coyote Home received a great review from The Romance Studio. Shannon gave it a 4.5 hearts rating and had some great things to say about the book. You can read the full review HERE but here's a little snippet that I especially liked:-

"Right from the very first page author Rhian Cahill brings to life a wondrously erotic story blending suspense, emotions and versatile characters ensuring the pages come alive."

Coyote Run scored a 4 tea cup rating over at Happily Ever After Reviews. You can read the review HERE but I liked this bit of Rachel's review:-

"Hot passion, animalistic behavior and the danger of being hunted spurred them into a relationship that couldn't be denied."

There were three reviews for Doing Logan.

Denise over at The Pen & Muse Book Reviews had this to say about Doing Logan:-

"Cahill does a great job with this little gem of a book."

Full review HERE

Rose at Two Lips Reviews gave Logan 4 lips rating. You can read the full review HERE. But I liked the way Rose described the encounters between Logan and Meredith best:-

"There is a lot of sexual tension between them from the beginning and when they both realize they want to explore where their attraction takes them, the sex is burn-the-paint-off-the-walls hot and frequent."

Seriously Reviewed gave Doing Logan a score of 15.5. You can read the review HERE but here's what I really liked:-

"I was very pleased with the author and her ability to create such achingly real emotions in the characters and situations that I, as the reader, felt to my bones. Nicely Done :) "

I love getting reviews and I really appreciate the time and effort each review takes not only to read my stories but to comment on them. Thanks for making my day, week, month.

I'm buried deep in catch up but I promise to be around more now that Tribe Cahill is settling into the new year. And that newsletter I promised before Christmas….yeah, well I'm hoping to get one done up ready for the new year.
