A chicken, a pig and a puppy…
Sounds like a joke, right? It’s not but they’ll make you laugh your ass off.
Honestly I’ve not laughed out loud reading a book in so long I don’t remember what book it was but I’m never forgetting Bootleg Springs by Lucy Score and Claire Kingsley. There are six books in the series (the final book out next month) and every single one of them had me.
Bootleg Springs is this quirky town where every character bursts off the page in 3D technicolor splendor. OMG! The chicken! The series is worth reading just for the chicken. And of course they had to throw in a little suspense (which is my crack) and bam! I’m done. I’m packing up and moving to Bootleg Springs.

Wednesday’s Words – Coyote Lies
She was focused on the paper in her hand, her brow scrunching up, her lips moving as she silently read. “Brady, do you have another brother? Other than Marcus?”
“What? No, it was just me and Marcus.” He straightened away from the couch. “Why?”
“This is a birth certificate for Jacob Connelly and if my math is right, he’d be about twenty-two.”
“Four years younger than me?”
“Yeah. This is weird though. The mother is listed as Michelle Watson but the father is unknown. How can that be?”
What the fuck? His mother had another child? He couldn’t remember her being pregnant or having a baby or there being any kids besides him and Marcus. And why would it list her maiden name? “I don’t understand…”

Who is ready for the weekend? I know I am. It’s been a busy week in the writing cave and now I’m ready to kick back and read. First I’m going to hop on over to Book+Main to see what takes my fancy. Oh, you’ve not heard of Book+Main. Well it’s a great site where authors (like me) share ‘bites’ of their work. New releases, backlist titles, coming soon titles, even exclusive content! As in nowhere else except on Book+Main. The best part?! It’s free for readers!

I’m in love with this site for a few reasons. Here’s my top two –
The ‘Discovery’ tab rocks! I’ve found a bunch of new authors scrolling through that tab.
There’s an app! Which means I get notifications when the authors I follow post a bite but I can also browse that discovery tab while on the go. Everything in the palm of my hand.
Oh, and I should mention that if the bite is from a book that’s available then it’s linked to the book’s page and it has buy links! I have to warn you though, click, click, clickity, click. Yeah, that book budget takes a beating whenever I’m on there. lol But who doesn’t need more books?
So who’s already on there? Who’s going to rush over and get on there? And who was savvy enough to work out I’ve got an exclusive ‘bonus epilogue’ for Brogan and El from Coyote Wild up on there? (bonus points if you worked out that last one)

The release of Coyote Lies marks the end of the Coyote Hunger series. I’m excited and sad all at once. Super thrilled to finally give Brady and Kat their HEA.
